1 Transmigration

He rubbed his eyes to try and get used to the light. He slowly sat up while opening them, the surroundings still a little blurry. The first thing he saw as his vision cleared up were his classmates, the class reps trying to calm everyone down. He started to grin, a large, uncanny grin and waved his arm while saying "Good morning, my fellow classmates!", all while wondering how he ended up with them, he had skipped school today, right?

His classmates did not even look at him. Of course they didn't, they never do. But it was worth a shot, he was used to it anyway. Then he started looking around to take in his surroundings. He was in a giant hall which looked posh as hell. With a chandelier hanging from above and lamps placed all round, making the hall exceptionally bright.

Then he started thinking about what he was doing before he came here....No, forget it, he didn't want to remember.

Suddenly the massive doors at the end of the hall opened, very slowly might I add, revealing a young woman in a maids uniform. All heads turned towards her. Some students were bold enough to question what was going on, but their questions only came out as murmurs. The woman did not say much, she just turned to them and said "Please make your way to the king's court, His majesty would like to see you."

Another round of indistinct murmuring. He chuckled. 'Majesty, hehehe' he thought, while imagining a old person wearing a gold crown. He slowly made his way towards the doors. The other students must have noticed him cause they started moving towards the doors as well.

'Suprising' he thought, cause they usually would not have noticed him. In class, even if he started to boogie on the teacher's desk no one would really pay attention to him, regarding him as only a pesky fly being annoying. After they had all piled into the king's court, the maid closed the door behind them.

The first thing they saw was the old guy with the golden crown on a golden throne. He looked at the king in bewilderment 'Huh, I was right'. The throne was intricately carved, with lions amd dragons carved on it, it looked awesome. Next to it was another throne, though not as cool as the first one.

Upon that throne sat a woman, about as old as the man, most probably his wife. Two other thrones were occupied by two children, maybe they were his children. It was very confusing that those old people had really small children but he decided not to question it. Behind the royal family stood several scantily dressed women. 'Ah, there is the answer to my question' he thought.

His classmates looked at the king, then pushed the reps to the front of the group.

'Way to go guys, sacrifice the reps first why don't cha?'.

"I know all of you are wondering where you are and how you got here" the king started, "I will answer all your questions, but please give me some time to explain everthing. After that, if you still have doubts, feel free to raise them."

"I have requested the palace mages to summon you all here from your world for but one purpose. To kill the demon lord."

Already the chatter started, his classmates talking among themselves, struggling to understand what nonsense the king was talking about. Mages? Demon Lord?

All the while he was thinking 'Shut up guys, this is pretty interesting, let me listen to this, will ya?'.

The king continued with his speech "I do understand your apprehension, however in this world magic does exist, unlike your previous world where there was no magic."

"There are benefits though, so you are not completely on your own. The first benefit is that you are immortal, which means you will not age past 20. This has been explained to me by my mages."

The boy widened his eyes, his grin grew bigger. "Immortality?! That's cool as hell!"

The king turned to him, but none of his classmates did. They were used to his antics. But that did not mean that they were not shocked by the revelations that the king was revealing to them.

Some didn't believe him, while others were ecstatic that they would be able to live forever. A few of them were also lamenting the fact, because immortality is not always a blessing, it could also be a curse to a few.

"Ahem yes, however you are still able to die to injury."

The boy with the everlasting grin didn't seem to care. He could fulfill his wish with immortality! How convenient! The people who felt that they had been given a curse brightened up immediately. The grinning boy felt that they were the suicidal students among his classmates.

"That is the only benefit of coming to this world, however, there are more benefits to coming under my wing. I will give you shelter, protection, training, weapons, money and anything else your heart may desire while on this quest to defeat the demon lord."

He was interrupted before he could continue

"What if we don't want to defeat the demo lord?"

"If you choose to refuse to participate in taking down the demon lord, apart from the massacre and eventual destruction of the world we are in, you will also be labelled a traitor and will be hunted down for a significant bounty."

That made the person raising the question shut up quick. But it didn't stop the boy with the big grin.

Still smiling he said "I'm out y'all, see you on the other side!" and began walking towards the massive doors behind him.

"You there! Boy, did you not here me when I said that you would be hunted down should you refuse my offer! Think this through!"

"Don't worry, oh king! I shall be back to help you with whatever this demon business is as soon as I complete my wish. Plus, I don't want to work under anybody!" Saying so he walked through the massive doors and slowly made his way through the hall and out of the palace.

The king didn't say anything during that time, but once he was out of the palace he called one of the women wearing a maid uniform and asked her to put a bounty on the boy. He told her to just use magic to capture his face on a piece of paper. "Filthy coward, people like him don't deserve to live. Running away from his duty. Let everyone in the world hunt him down, let him never live in peace."

"Your Majesty, we do not know his name, what should we write on the poster?"

The king looked towards the boy's classmates

"Do any of you know that boy's name? The one who just left?"

The class reps tried hard to remember their classmates name. They had heard it before and had even said it before, but it had been so long since they talked to him that they had forgotten. The rest of the class was similarly clueless. Out of the two class reps, the first one, Arthur Wright, stood up and decided to be the spokesperson for the class. "Sorry Your Majesty,we do not know his name"

The other class rep, Lyla Paige, stood up "But I can run after him and ask his name if you would like"

The king waved his hand "Forget it, we can just put up the poster without his name, the appearance is enough."

The maid, who was respectfully standing by the king's side, bowed and left.

The king then turned to the rest of the class, a total of 15 students and asked them whether they would like to come and work under him. The entire class stood up and bowed simultaeneously. "YES!"
