Keeper of Monsters 2

"Good Morning!" I greeted them once again.

"Go-good Morning!' Rea greeted back.

"Hey, why did you greeted her back?"

"She greeted us. Mom said that it will be rude if we don't greet the person who greeted us."

'Aww. What a sweet girl,' I thought as I watched the two. As I am going to open up my mouth to speak, I heard multiple grumbling. I smiled because of this.

"I have prepared food for all of you. Feel free to eat now." As soon as I said that the goblins rushed to the table.

{{Food! Food!}} They happily exclaimed as they started to eat. Rea joined them too.

"Hey! Everyone! Stop eating. What if the food has poison?" Rio tried to tell them. 

'He's trying really hard. He must hate me hahaha. But I just put them to sleep.' 

Rio was going to speak again but Rea immediately shoved a spoon of palabok in his mouth. His widened as he too sat on the chair and started eating. 

"Hah. Not because of this food, don't think that we will trust you that easily." Rio said with a grumpy voice.

"Hai, Hai," I answered nonchalantly. In my mind, I raised my fist, 'Great! The Artistry Cooking skill is surely effective.'

After an hour, the two pots of palabok were consumed. The goblins laid down on the sofa with satisfaction on their faces.

Now on the dining table, I, Rea, and Rio and two goblins whom Rea called Momo and Beno were the ones left. We were having a question and answered portion.

"Who are you?" Rio asked.

"Vialyn Giselle."

"What are you doing here?"

"I just happened to find this place empty with an item called Mini Map. And decided to sleep here. But I didn't know that someone concealed themselves here using an item too."

"That..." He paused for a bit. <<That could be a logical reason. We did hide after all.>> I heard his thoughts. 

"Then why did you attack us?" He questioned again.

"Well, if you're in the situation when you were surrounded by monsters all of the sudden when you wake up, you will feel the need to fight for your life too right? Though I don't really attack anyone and just put all of you to sleep and I still didn't do anything right?" 

Rea, Momo, and Beno nodded their heads. While Rio just tsked. <<All of her answers are fairly reasonable enough.>> 

I grinned when I heard his thoughts again. "Then this is my last question for you. Why are you acting all good to us, and even cooked us some food?" Rio asked.

"Hmm. It's because I know both of you." I answered with honesty.

"You know us?"

"Hmm. Actually, I know your mom."

"Mom?" Rea asked this time.

"Yes. She saved me actually. That is why if you allow me, I wanted to stay with the both of you too." I sincerely answered this time. "I will protect you and even continue to cook delicious food for all of you."

"Yes, you can stay with us then!" Rea said and the two goblins nodded their heads too. "Cook more delicious food for us!"

<<She wanted to stay with us.>> Rio glanced at her sister and the two goblins. <<She looked weak and dumb.>>

An irk mark formed on my head while trying to maintain my sweet and cute smile. 

<<But with the monsters that are us. And my sister. I guess it would be not too bad to have another hand help me protect them. Mom always told us there is a limit what only one person could do.>>

'I'm impressed. Jess, you surely taught your kids pretty well.' I smiled at them.

"Fine you could stay with us. But I will be watching you." Rio final remarks.

"Sure. Thank you for giving me a chance."

The rest of the day, we cleaned the whole room. Play some card games and enjoy dinner with some chicken adobo and fried rice. 

We watched a movie after that, and Rea fell asleep on my shoulder. Rio carried her back to her room. I turned off the tv and rest my head on the sofa. The goblins too were already sleeping.

"Ate Via," I glanced to Rio when called me out.

"Yes. What is it?" 'That's a surprise. He is calling me with Ate, now.' 

"How did my mother save you?" He asked.

"Hmm. When I'm stuck with fear and I thought that I will be goner. She saves my life bravely. She really looked extremely cool."

<<I see. Mom is really cool. I just wished we could see her now.>> 

"Hmm. Do you wish to see your mom?" I asked.

"Yes!" Rio immediately exclaimed. He covered his mouth. <<How did she know? Is reading my mind?>> Rio looked at me with wary.

"Don't be too alarmed. It's normal for a child to want to see their parent." I patted his head but he shoved my hands.

"Stop doing that." He said grumpily.

"Right, right," I chuckled then I stood up. "Rio. Rest assured, I'll protect you and both you and your sister will see your mom." I said.

Although, I knew it's big words for me. But these kids, they were good people, even Jess. They don't deserved what happened to them in Journey of the End. 

"You better sleep..." As I turned around, I saw Rio fell asleep on the sofa too. "How cute. He is like his sister too." I carried him and place with his sister.

"Sweet Dreams, the both of you." I arrange the blanket to the both them and returned to the sofa. I sat and leaned on my sofa. I brought out the fairy white stone, and played with it in my hands until I felt asleep too.

"Via, what do you think about goblins?" Zash asked.

"They are green icky creatures who kidnap kids and women," I answered while playing games on my phone.

"Only that?"

"What? Do I suppose to say they're cute too?"

"Why not? They are really cute and adorable. There mentality are just like that of a child. They just try to live they thought what is best for them and they really like collecting things. Not all of them kidnap kids and women. It is a misunderstanding labeled to them through generations."

"You sound like, you have a thing for goblins. And a misunderstanding will not be a misunderstanding if there is something that happened first."

"Stupid Via! I-I just do some research, and not all of them are really bad. Like us humans, they are also divided between bad and good. But so you know this, everything don't begin with being bad."

"Well. If you say so."

"Crap. I lost" I threw my phone on the mat and lay down. Damn only one star left and I'll almost reach the next rank. *sigh.

"Hey! You're not listening at all." Zash jumped from her bed and attack me with a headlock.

"Ah! Let go you gorilla!"

My eyes opened wide. "A dream?" I rubbed my hair with my hands as I looked at my watch.

"2:30 am." 

I only slept three hours. And I didn't felt like sleeping anymore. I stood up and checked everyone. "They are all still asleep." I decided to survey the outside again and collect more supplies. I went to the lower floors. 

As I went out again to a room that I just entered.

*Swoosh!*

Someone passed through me with an unbelievable speed. But I got to see that very familiar sword that sent shivers to my spine.

It's the dark sword!!!

Luckily, I'm holding on to the stone that's why he didn't notice me.

"What is he doing here?" Ah right, I forgot he had a habit of going on his own to level up.

I look at the mini map. My eyes widened to the place he was heading right now. He stopped moving in front of the room that I should be staying.

  The kid's room! Damn it! I forgot that he could sense monsters. The monsters didn't have the mantle on them. 

Damn it! I ran and dashed with all my might towards the kid's room.

I halted my movement just a few distances to Argaux. He was just standing there. I used this chance to see his status.

When he arrived here on earth, Rey said that all of his stats should have been reset. But what's this?

Don't tell me he was hunting monsters up to now without a stop. How terrific and insane.

Between killing a monster completely than just defeating it by knocking it out, it seemed killing really gave a higher exp.

Though I would still not kill monsters or anything as long as I can. Since I know, from the story, that it would hinder some of my plans.

I can't fight him right now. Even though I had items I bought from the shop, he too must also already bought a lot from there. Not to mention, though his levels reset he had his other items brought from his world travels.

In short, his level was way too high for me now or it would be forever like that?

Plus, it had not been that long when I pissed him off. My life would really be gone if we meet now.

He was just standing there, thinking. Please just stay like that or just leave.

<<Weird, there are definitely monsters here. But why they not moving? They all just line up in the same place. Is it perhaps a trap?'>> I heard his thoughts loud and clear.

No, it's not a trap. They're just good, harmless goblins with two kids who were just sleeping peacefully. No need to disturb them. So just go away will ya please.

Argaux slashed the door into pieces with his dark sword. He stepped cooly inside as some dust flew all over.

Oh crap. Damn. Damn. Damn.

He just really destroyed the door now. 

Should I just leave them? 

Arghhh! I rub my hair in frustration! Kidding. I'm a woman of my word. I said I will protect them.

I brought out all the enhancers I bought from the shop. And drink all of it in an instant.

A sudden surge of energy flowed and burst within my veins that I almost scream due to the pain it causes. But I held it in, as I bit my mouth.

I only level up two times with all of that! I had nothing left anymore since all of these enhancers have also limited stocks.

I had only one chance now and it all depends if I survive until that.

I carefully and quietly followed inside. I felt like I'm in some sort of thriller movie but the only difference is I'm following the serial killer.

The goblins were in the living room. He would definitely see them immediately. Hmm. Why did no one wake up with that noise?

<<No one moves from their spots even with all that noise. Are they dead? No, if are, I shouldn't have sensed breathing.>> Argaux thought as he continued to walk. He stopped when he saw all the goblins.

<<They are sleeping? Hmm. No. it seems they influenced by something.>> He sat down and wiped some blue dust that was still on the floor and flicked it with his fingers.

<<It's the Fairy Magic Dust, this is reason why they are asleep. There other two in that room.>>

Magic dust? That's when I noticed that my blue pouched containing the dust was gone. 'Ah, when did they got that?' Ah, crap. I forgot that I dropped my bag on the table and I must have put it there. Why am I so careless? I smacked my head.

Argaux walked towards where the kids are located and sees them sleeping deeply on the bed.

<<Kids? >> Fairy's eye. He activated the fairy's eye to look for their status.

Argaux eyes squirmed.

<<I see, in this world, girl is the keeper. I better end her here or she will cause more trouble future.>>

Argaux raised his dark sword towards the sleeping Rea.

He struck his sword downwards without any hesitation but...

*Clang!*

"Yow," I called out as I block his dark sword with my white dragon twin blade. The collision created a strong gushed of wind that shattered the vase just a few distances within us into pieces.

"Your so cruel you know that. They are just kids sleeping there peacefully! I angrily looked at him. Damn this jerk! Was he really going to hit the kids with that kind of attack?!

He gave me his monotonous deathly glare.

<<That voice seems familiar?>> He then smiled very coldly as soon as he realizes and recognizes me with my voice.

It felt like death is smiling at me. My body can't help but shiver as I look with his cold blue eyes.

"Hah. It's you" He said.

I'm so dead now.

"No. I'm not 'You'. I never have that name. You must just have mistaken me for someone." How the heck I'm still spouting nonsense in this situation.

*The coconut nut is a coconut 🎶* The song I sang in a group recital when I am in kindergarten was what came first to my mind now.

I was sent flying and *boogsh!* passed through the first wall

I finally stop flying after hitting the final concrete wall in the hallway outside the room.

That was quite a multiple cracks. Hah! And I'm still alive. "cough! cough!" I coughed more blood.

"Wh-why all I could re-member a-bout the ly-rics is co-co-nuts! It's freaking NUTS! Cough! Cough!" I forced myself to stand up and wipe the blood on my mouth.

That punch was a CHEAT! It was multiple times hurtful than when I was hit by a solid spike of volleyball in the face before. It was an unexpected attack!

I immediately drank a potion.

Each collision created dents all over the place.

And the one single attack fight continued.

My hands were al-ready hurting.

The attacks and blocks continued for I don't know how long now.

"You manage to block all my attacks in this much time"

"Yeah. I'm lu-cky I gu-ess! haha!" Really unbelievable I'm still laughing at this situation.

"But that won't be for too long." His attacks became more aggressive.

*clang!*

*swoosh!*

Just a little longer. It's almost there!

"Hey bu-ddy, can you just let us go? I pro-mise we will not cause any trou-ble."

I blocked again his attack. My hands were really becoming more numb now due to much pain.

"..."

He gave no response. He was really set now in killing me.

I didn't need to look at my stats to see that my hp and mp are draining fast. My body was feeling much slower as his attacks grow stronger.

'Swish!'

I received more incoming attacks then,

'Bling! The...'

Finally, it's full! But was that really the catchphrase?
