11 Chapter 11: Finn's Weapon

"Sorry for calling you here despite the fact that you were probably busy." I say to Finn as we stand in the smithy.

"It's fine, I was actually free so this is a very good time." He says and I nod.

"Alright, I called you here to talk about what you want for your weapon. Is there anything that you have as a requirement?" I ask and I see him pause to think for a second before answering.

"I don't really have any immense requirements as I trust my own skills to do the work. As long as it's durable, sharp, and relatively light then it will be fine." He says making me ponder for a bit.

"Do you want it on the lighter side so you aren't slowed down?" I ask and he nods.

"Yes, I rely more on speed over power so a lighter weapon would be preferable." He answers.

"Alright, then if I were to make the weapon a bit heavier but add an ability to increase the speed of both it and you would that be acceptable?" I ask, surprising him.

"If you can make the weapon do that then more weight would indeed be fine. I would be able to have more power behind my strikes without sacrificing my speed. However, I will only be fine with it if the speed increase makes up for the loss from the extra weight." He says making me smirk.

"Don't worry it will." I say and make my way to the back room to grab some Orichalcum.

"I'll also add in another surprise in there for you. Don't worry, it's a special ability that won't affect the basic performance of the spear." I say and he nods.

"Is that all I'm needed for?" he asks and I shake my head.

"No, I will also need some of your blood. It will bind the weapon to you so the only ones who can properly wield the spear as anything more than a regular spear are you and I." I say and he nods his head in understanding.

I grab the large Orichalcum ingot and place it in a crucible before grabbing it with the tongs and proceeding to heat it up in the {Divine Flame}. Once it is sufficiently heated, I cut a wound on my hand with a small knife I prepared and let it drip into the molten liquid. I clean the blade and call Finn over before doing the same with him.

"The reason for your own blood being added is?" he asks and I smirk at him.

"You did want a divine weapon didn't you?" I ask and he looks at me in understanding.

Once our blood is mixed in, I pour the molten liquid out into several ingot molds and a long tubular mold before letting them settle and cool. After they cool enough to become a solid, I grab an ingot with the tongs and heat it up before I bring it to the anvil and get to work on making the spear head.

lighting up Gideon with {Divine Flame}, I proceed to hammer away at the Orichalcum and work on getting a thin Isosceles triangle shape. The reason for lighting up Gideon is to let my {Divine Flame} temper the metal and seep power into it changing it slowly as I hammer instead of in one go afterwards. This is to both disguise how my ability actually works since Finn isn't part of the Familia but also to greatly diminish the grand effect that happened the last time I made a divine weapon.

After a bit, I get to work on fleshing out the shape, making two blade like extensions on either side of the base before smoothening it up and laying the spearhead on the table to the side of the room. I crack open the tubular mold and pulling out the pole from within. I smooth out the pole and once I am content with it, I bore a hole in one end for the base of the spear head to go into.

I place the spearhead on the shaft and weld them together. I clean it up, and then lay the spear on the table before sitting down. This next part is something I had to ask Hephaestus about this morning but I got the gist of it. The process is simple, what's difficult is knowing Hieroglyphs which is almost exclusive to Gods, and having the creative mind to make the effects you want work. Since I know them though, I can do what I'm about to without problem.

I prepare a cup of my blood before using a brush to start writing Hieroglyphs onto the spearhead. The focus this time is to create the effect I want without relying completely on {Divine Flame} doing all of the work like last time. By applying the effects myself with my blood, {Divine Flame} will have something to build off of, enhancing the effect further since none of the energy will be wasted on creating the effect.

The goal this time is on adding a unhealable effect which will make it so that any wounds caused by the spear will not be able to be healed so long as the spear itself exists. It takes me about 2 hours to write this effect in since it is my first time but I eventually manage to do it. Now I have to write the speed enhancement effect over the entirety of the shaft of the spear.

I do a quick stretch to work out any stiff joints before getting to work. I also take two hours again but this time it is due to the size of the shaft in comparison the the spearhead. Finn quietly watches the entire process from behind me and occasionally asks a question about the process.

Once the process is done, I pour my mind into the blade after grasping the spear and activate it. The Hieroglyphs light up all over the weapon in red before fading. I nod in satisfaction before handing the spear to Finn.

"Pour your mind into the blade to activate it so that the Hieroglyphs recognize your signature." I say and he grabs the spear with a raised brow and does what I told him to.

"I thought you said the blood would bind it to me?" he asks and I chuckle in response.

"If you hadn't put your blood in you wouldn't even be able to lift that spear right now." I say and I see his eyes widen before looking down at the spear.

"So. . . aside from myself and you, no one else can lift the spear?" He asks.

"Other gods can also lift it due to their divinity but essentially yes, you are the only 'mortal' who can lift it. You can add other 'users' to the spear by having them let a drop of the blood come in contact with the spear but they'll only be able to use it as a normal spear. Only you can fully release the power of the spear." I say and he slowly nods, in shock over the security features on the weapon.

I laugh before grabbing the spear and placing back on the table. Now is the last step, the final ability of the spear that will go very well with Finn's Hell Finegas magic. I start carefully placing the last set of Hieroglyphs over the top of the first two, covering both the shaft and the spearhead. I make sure not to interfere with the previous two as I do so and this causes this one to take much longer.

Five hours later, I finally finish and the entire spear is complete. I sigh in relief at being able to make a divine weapon without a grand show like before. I'll have to use this slow temper method in the future to make my life easier. I shake the thoughts out of my head and grab the spear, letting my {Divine Flame} wash over it once to enhance it one last time before giving it to Finn.

"The spear's done. Let me explain what it can do." I say and he nods while looking at me attentively.

"The first thing is that any wound that is caused by this spear cannot be healed so long as this spear exists and you do not wish for the wound to heal." I say, shocking him greatly.

"This. . . this ability alone is already worthy of this spear being called divine. Is the speed enhancement there as well?" He asks in surprise and I nod my head in response.

"Yes, not only will you be much faster when wielding the spear, if you use it with your Tir na Nog magic, then on top of the extreme power provided by the magic, it will also be extremely fast. Essentially, It makes your already powerful throwing magic almost impossible to dodge." I say and he looks at me wearily.

"How do you know about that magic!?" He asks me worriedly. I laugh and shake my head before pointing to my eyes. He stares at me weirdly before finally realizing my meaning.

"You can see my status?" He asks me and I nod my head. It's not entirely false but also technically not true. When our blood mixed together in the metal, I gained an understanding of his status. So long as this spear exists I can see his status when I look at him. He doesn't need to know that though.

"Don't worry, I won't say anything to anyone about your status or the status of anyone else in your Familia. Well, anyone but Hephaestus, but only if she asks." I say and he nods in understanding.

"Are those the only abilities of the spear?" he asks me and I shake my head.

"No, I also added another ability for your Hell Finegas magic as well." I say and he tenses.

"Why would you do anything for that magic? It's not one I like to use due to its. . . side effect. . ." he says and I nod my head.

"The final ability of the spear is to create a Duel Field where it is only you and your opponent. No one can interfere with the fight, not even gods, and the Field will not disappear until either you or your opponent is dead. The downside is you have to fight alone within the Field." I say and his eyes widen.

"If it's like this then I won't have to worry about hurting my allies while under the effects of Hell Finegas." he says and I nod with a smile. He looks up at me and stares at me for a bit before speaking again.

"Thank you. . . Now I can go all out, even if it's only against one opponent." he says and I pat him on the shoulder.

"Don't worry about it. I have a contract with you guys now so if you can bring back more ores and materials due to having my weapons then I will be able to do more." I say and he nods in understanding.

"I guess that's all of the abilities of the spear then. Before I go, I would like to know its name." he says and I give him a grin.

"Diatrekhōn Astēr Lonkhē." I say and he looks at me weirdly.

"What. . . ?" he asks in confusion making me laugh.

"It means Spear-tip of the Star Traversing the Skies, or Star Traversing Skies for short." I say and he looks at the spear in his hands.

"Star Traversing Skies. . . It's a good name." he says with a smile.

"Alright, you've been here long enough now. Go on and get out of here, tell Loki I'll be taking a break for a few days before working on the next weapon." I say, making him nod as he bids me farewell and leaves.

I clean up the smithy before leaving as well and making my way down to Hephaestus's office. I guess I can enjoy a bit of one on one private time with her before I head off to bed. I smile as I walk towards her office with excitement at the thought of having fun with Hephaestus again. I just can't get enough of her.

'Hurry up. . . I want a break for a bit. . .'

I really can't get enough of her.

---------- ----- Line Break ----- ----------

- A/N: Another somewhat short chapter that is also late. Things will probably be like this for a while until I can get more time to write. Either way, I hope you all enjoy the chapter.
