3 Chapter 3
The following morning, Axel was awoken by the A.I. which he named Ivan to get started for the day. The time was currently 0500 which was the time that Axel got up on most days so that he can exercise to maintain his body.
Ivan had gave him directions to the indoor gym that the facility had so Axel went there for his morning workout. At this time of day the Gym was closed so Axel just his authorization code to get in and work out.
He worked out his entire body for 2 hours until 0700 where he went back to his room and put on his Uniform.
As he was getting dressed there was a knock at his door.
"Sir Lt. Aaron Campbell has forwarded some classified documents sent directly from the UNSC to your personnel computer, And he wanted me as your assistant to make sure that you are aware of this information" Reported Axels Assistant Taylor.
Axel had finished putting his clothes on before he walked out of the door.
"I'll look at that information later, for now let's go and explore the facility and meet all the members of Section three" Said Axel
"Okay Sir, I have already went around and got familiar with the Facility yesterday after you dismissed everybody, So I know where everything is at" Explained Taylor.
"Good then, lead the way" Said Axel as he was surprised that Taylor had already familiarized himself with the facility when a day hasn't even past yet.
Taylor had taken Axel to see all of the Facilities important locations and it's facilities which were few since the facility was not meant to be an actual lab so it's size was rather small compared to other research facilities.
Axel had met with all of the staff and had gotten to know them to better improve his standing with his subordinates.
Once he was done meeting with everybody he had gathered the R&D Team and had given them the completed project of the Robotic Military Unit.
"This is the project that I have already come up with" Said Axel as he pulled up the data on the Robotic Military Unit or the Mechanoid Combat Unit (MCU).
"I have developed this project which should give us a solution to the Insurrectionists problem and also introduce unmanned Soldiers into the UNSC" Said Axel
The Development team had looked it over and was shocked at the things that the data contained. All the information on the Unit was displayed and showed it's various functions. The only problem was that it was still an untested project.
"Sir We could possibly create the MCU Robot within a year but the problem will be what materials will we use to construct it because if the MCU is going to be used on every colony then we would need cheaper materials which would also make the MCU weaker because of the cheap materials used to make it" The Head of the R&D Team Michael Owen had explained and pointed out the potential problems.
"We don't need to worry about the Materials since we will just use cheap reinforced steel that's used for construction and will remake make it to be used in a MCU" Explained Axel
Hearing this Michael and his team felt a little bit confident in the creating this experimental robot since all the information that they needed was right in front of them.
Michael has been leading the R&D team for about 2 decades now before they got reassigned to a special assignment for working in this facility, And he could tell when a project had potential from how much information the creator had presented and how much of the information was actually doable without requiring years of researching.
The Data presented to him about the MCU was something that they could accomplish within a year or even 6 months depending on how the tests go.
Michael couldn't help but be amazed since this is his first time seeing and working for someone known as a prodigy or genius in this time.
"Well then Sir with this data we should be able to finish this project in 6-12 months depending on how the tests go, but even then you would still have to convince the Top brass about utilizing robots in the field since they are already putting tight restrictions on A.I. and looking at the data on the MCU it will need some of those restrictions lifted in order for it to perform at optimal task in the field" Explained Michael.
For Axel this was something that he was already aware of. But he didn't think about it too much since he was doing this for the betterment of humanity, so if they didn't accept this idea then it would take years for another successful project to be completed.
Why would it take years, well he would make it take years since the Top brass wants to act paranoid and stop the Human race from advancing their technology in the robotics field. Because if Robots were used then it would stop the wasting of UNSC soldiers and also make research into Robotics grow.
"If the Top brass doesn't accept this project then the issue with the insurgents will only grow out of control until they are forced to either spend the lives of UNSC soldiers or try and test out the MCU, But no matter what happens they will be forced to make a choice" Explained Axel
Michael hearing this didn't ask anymore questions and had gathered his team and started to work on the project immediately. He wanted to see for himself the results of this project.
