9 Author's Checkpoint (1)

What is up my fellow gamers. Today I wanted to both give myself time to write and go ahead and establish a form of interaction that I plan to keep throughout the story (hopefully) as long as there is positive feedback and you guys want it.

This checkpoint will be very different than the other's. While the other's will be more to clear up misconceptions and to voice concerns. This chapter will not only do that, but below this introduction I am going to throw out some arcs I would love to write. No guarantees you will see all or any of them. Just something to look forward to. This post can also function as a poll for interest in arcs so if you want them be sure to drop a +1 on the paragraph comments below and be sure to vote for as many as you want.

Below the possible arcs I am also going to throw out some Faq's about the story with answers and also some questions from myself to bounce some ideas.

Possible Arcs:

Destruction ↦ Recovery of Experimental Weapon 𝐇𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 - 𝐈 (This will be a long ass arc because there is more to it than just the recovery of Hrunting) (Honestly even if you guys say no I will probably do it anyway because looking at the context and what I could do with this arc. All I will say is let me cook)

Prevention of 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲'𝐬 Annihilation (Think Ghosts of Onyx)

The 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐭 for the missing Admiral Preston Cole (The greatest admiral in the UNSC Navy and the man who developed the "Cole Protocol")

𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 (Yeah Reach is toast, I mean what did you expect? The Arbiter came at Reach with a fleet that had literally over 300 ships. Nothing the Mc does can save Reach.)

𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐭 (Halo Legends this will be a pretty short arc)

𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 of Remaining UNSC forces on Actium (This arc will entirely be my own, except for one portion and some characters that might be permanent side characters)

𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐲 (Operation Grey Veil + Prophet of Mercy = BIG mission)

Now for some questions:

First I have been getting questions about Romance. To be honest I am not sure if I can do it and do it well, or if I will include it. I have certainly thought about it and I have an idea of who the FL will be if I decide to, but for now I will just say....perhaps.

Next I guess is what specialty will he have. Short answer he won't have one. He will mostly focus on combat oriented skills, but that pertains to a lot of things such as field medical, pilot, explosives, marksman, leadership, and maybe a little bit of tech. I kinda want him to be a Jack of all trades and Master of them all. Because he needs at least that much for the above arcs I have planned. Plus he is a reincarnated adult that has been in combat so this shouldn't be his first rodeo.

A big question is about Forerunners, and to be honest like the romance question I am hesitant to include them. First Halo 4 and Halo 5 didn't really do them well from my perspective. Like the only reason the Didact got released is because of the master chief touching something he shouldn't have. The other main reason is that the Mc already has to fight a alien alliance hell bent on either destroying humanity or wiping the galaxy of all life effectively accomplishing the other objective, and he has to deal with a primordial horror that could conquer entire universes if given enough time. So because of that I would rather not throw in space Hitler as well.

I got one question about changing characters in canons fate, and I guess from what you can see above that will happen and it will happen pretty often. I wanna say he will somewhat go out of his way to do that, because he has a little emotional attachment from being invested in the characters from the games and books. (I mean come on who didn't cry when Johnson died or Noble 6 had his last stand and you realized you weren't making it off Reach). However, he won't go overboard to be honest most of the characters saved will be MASSIVE help later on down the line. Even just saving one Spartan-II will have big effects in battles.

I would like to reiterate again that the MC is Noble 6 or B-312 I feel like I threw out enough hints at it especially the fact that he was the 312th patient screened for Beta Company.

Now for my questions for you guys:

Would you like the Mc to have a AI companion either Cortana or someone else or even an Oc?

Has the pacing been good? Last chapter I really rushed because I had a lot I wanted to get in due to the time skip and I was also tired as fuck from working on a project the entire night before. I also said there would be one more chapter for the time skip and promised that I would drop the chapter yesterday. Which I feel like cornered me and I fucked it up a bit.

Do you guys want romance? I know I shared my thoughts about it above, but I would love to hear more opinions.

Do you guys want more of these checkpoints in the future? I really like responding to your comments and seeing the investment as well as the praise (like everyone I am weak to compliments) (Also feel free to drop questions anytime).
