Chapter 1

Annie Orlando has never had an easy life to begin with. From the age of nineteen, she was kicked out of her parents' house and was forced to live on the streets and fend for herself. For several years, Annie was constantly eating from the garbage bins from behind fast food restaurants and was signing several gym memberships just so she could bathe. This would only last for an month because of the free membership, after that she would look elsewhere.

Micheal Myers was always putting fitness before anything. He would spend hours in the gym. Nevertheless, because of these long hours of fitness he noticed Annie quite frequently. However, he soon noticed her routine. She would come in and head straight to the shower rooms and come out after around ten minutes. Her auburn hair was still soaking wet and by the frizzy looking texture he knew right away it was curly. After this she would sit in the far right corner of the gym where the weights are and stay there for a good thirty- five minutes before collecting her belongings and leaving. Additionally, Michael noticed how Annie would swap between three certain outfits and that was it. A pair of black and blue jeans along with black leggings. Who wears jeans to a gym?

One early morning, Michael was at the gym and his gaze was fixed on the door waiting for Annie to enter. After a few minutes , which felt like a life time, Annie waltzed in and went straight towards the shower rooms.

" Excuse me?" Michael quickly jumped off the treadmill he was recently on and headed towards the woman.

Annie slightly turned her head and stared at him, taking in his features. Dark chestnut brown hair, with a rounded face and an neat beared which looks as if it was recently trimmed. His eyes were an golden amber colour. Once she took in his appearance, she quickly looked away and continued where she was heading.

"Ma'am?" Michael questions the woman.

"I have a boyfriend," Annie fires back at the man, not giving her a chance to think about what she is saying. She quickly walks into the shower room and slams the door shut on Michael.

" Fantastic," Michael mutters under his breath before sighing. He walks over towards the weights, knowing that's where she will be heading next.

After a few minutes, Annie walks out of the shower room and walks towards the weights. She comes to a sudden halt once she notices the familiar man standing in her spot.

"You following me?" She raises a questioning brow at him before placing her bag down.

" I would never follow such a pretty woman around."

"I already told you, I have a boyfriend." Annie firmly says.

" Love, you and I both know you don't." Micheal leans his body slightly to the side on the equipment and stares at the attractive woman in front of him.

" Even if I didn't, why do you care so much?" Annie reaches down for her bag whilst still looking at the man.

" What if I wanted to take you out somewhere?" He tilts his head slightly to the side as he studies the woman some more.

" I highly doubt you would want to," the woman anxiously looks towards the door.

" Oh come on! I'm not some creep, you can trust me. How about you give me your number?" Michael suggests as he runs an hand through his chestnut hair.

" I don't have a phone," Annie says.

" You don't have a phone?" Michael repeats. "Well how about you meet me at the cafe a few blocks away from here at around seven thirty tonight and we can get to know each other?" He suggests.

" Look, I'm not the type of girl you think I am."

" Really? Because I'm looking at you and I see someone that is absolutely stunning and someone that is shy but has a fiery attitude. Now that's a type of woman I want in my life."

"I'm Annie," the woman sticks her hand out for Michael to shake.

" I'm Michael," he gladly accepts her hand but instead of shaking it he brings it up his lips and kisses it delicately. Michael enjoys watching an tint of redness infect Annie's cheeks. " So what do you say?" Michael gives her an wide smile.

" I don't have anything nice to wear," Annie barely manages to get the words out because Michael's thumb is tracing over her knuckles.

" So? I never mentioned that you have to dress up, Love." He lifts his head up and stares into her steel blue eyes.

" M-Michael."

" Annie," Michael lets out a soft chuckle.

" I don't even have a place to stay," Annie mumbles.

" Wait you don't?" Michael asks causing Annie to shake her head.

" Well you can stay at mine if you would like. Nothing inappropriate of course, it's just I understand how having nowhere to sleep or to an place that you feel safe can feel like. I wouldn't want to wish it upon anyone. You can stay at my apartment, it's nothing big it's only an one bed but I can sleep on the couch if you would like," Michael continues to ramble on which is causing Annie to stare at the man in awe.

They barely even know each other and he is offering for her to stay at his place. Apart from a few welcoming smiles when passing each other, this is the only proper interaction the two of them has had.

" Stay the night, sleep somewhere that is warm. You can't continue to sleep out there you'll catch a death, darling. If you want to leave by tomorrow you can. Just please stay for tonight so you can be warm." Michael squeezes her hand gently.

" Okay." Annie nods.

" Okay?" Michael questions her response.

" I'll come with you." She clarifies her previous statement. Michael's eyes light up with excitement and happiness. He carefully takes the bag out of Annie's grasp and offers right arm for her to link on. Which she happily accepts.

" So instead of going to the cafe do you maybe want to get take out?" Michael turns his head to look at her.

" Sure, but it's got to be Chinese." Annie laughs as they leave the gym linking arms.
