Sawyer steps nervously from foot to foot as the computer rings loudly on the desk in front of them.
If he’s super honest with himself, he’s relieved they’re finally contacting Nihira. He’s not entirely sure he was ever the right person to leave behind to look after Pine Grove. Regardless of Damien being banned, for all intents and purposes, from city limits, he’s always been much more of a leader than Sawyer could ever hope to be.
Hell, Sawyer still struggles to keep his temper under control most days. Being leader? Never in a million years.
“Oh my god, I was just about to call you guys!” Nihira’s face appears on the screen, but elongated since she’s obviously talking to them from her phone.
She turns to the side for a minute and calls out, “Yo, it’s Pine Grove. If you all don’t shut up, I’m making you run suicides until you puke.”
The background noise dies down and she faces the screen.
“We’ve got a vampire problem.” Nihira and Sawyer talk at exactly the same time.
