as mion jumped from the room he was at an extreme height it was as though he was jumping from the top of a skyscraper.

looking back he could see that the room was apart of a large mountain.

many other buildings can be seen clustered on the mountain, it was the base of the southern beastmen territory, he did not see how enormous it was when they were captured, the tall trees block the view from below no matter how close you get to the mountain.

but mion did not have time to look at the enormous mountain, he was approaching closer to the ground.

he looked down and could see the dense forest, but his mind was foggy, he was unable to think clearly after being in the room, although it is not as bad as it was when he was in the room, he was still having problems thinking straight.

"full-body" without thinking he used his gift and braced himself for the fall.

*boom!* a cloud of dust can be seen where mion had falling.

"wow" nic was stunned as he entered the room behind the walls, even Charlotte who was on his shoulder had a surprise look on her face as she opened her eyes wide.

the room was that of a cavern, stalactites and stalagmites can be seen, some so enormous that they seem to merge together to form enormous pillars, at the center of the cavern a large yellow glowing pool can be seen, water also can be seen dripping from the tips of the stalactites, the room was not dark as what even made it more beautiful were the many small blue crystals that can be seen on the sides of the cavern, they gave the room a blue glow and resembled tiny stars.

nic walked inside of the room with his mouth open, Charlotte looked side to side and was mesmerized by the beauty of the cavern.

as he walked he realize the ash of the burnt eggs were only close to the entrance, it was as though it used its young as a barrier if the entrance was found.

"what could you be hiding" nic mumbled, he then looked around the cavern but it was empty, but he still believed that it was protecting something, it was all to obvious.

the fact that it stayed in the cave while being so strong and the fact that it used its eggs as a second wall to the entrance.

as nic was looking around Charlotte spotted something, due to her being on nic shoulder, she had a better view of her surroundings and her eyes were fixated on the pool.

nic was busy looking around when he felt the soft hands on both sides of his face which forced his head to turn in the direction of the pool.

"awh" nic cried to the sudden pain in his neck, he known that it was Charlotte, so he did not pay attention when she touch his face, neither did he expect the sudden twist.

"what was that for?" he looked up at Charlotte, she placed an innocent smile on her face and then pointed to the pool.

"what did you see something?" he asked as he looked at Charlotte, in response she nodded her head.

nic looked in the direction of the pool but he saw nothing, he then walked over to the pool as their was no reason for the little girl to lie.

as nic walked closer his smile became brighter, he was relieved that he was right.

what was seen in the pool was countless gold, potions, scrolls, coins, weapons and all sort of treasures.

what stood out the most were three eggs, two of them looked like the toad eggs that he seen except for the fact that these ones were bigger, and completely black.

"I know I was right, so these are what you were guarding" nic said as he looked at the two eggs a big smile suddenly appeared on his face.

Charlotte then tapped his head, he looked up to see the face of Charlotte, she was confused as to what he was saying.

nic had already explained to her while they were waiting for the eggs to burn what had happen when he entered the cave, but she was lost on why he had this response, they were just treasures even if they manage to get them out of the beast den they would be accused of theft or even robbed and killed, no one would stand up for a halfling.

"it's simple, I just had the feeling that it would not sacrifice itself to guard only the eggs from before, the number that was made was enough proof that it can just make more, so it either made them as a diversion so that if another monster come into the cave and find the entrance to this place that they would think that the room is just a room full of its young or it just made them as a second wall, but the real treasure it was guarding were these eggs.."nic then paused as he saw that Charlotte seemed as though she was lost.

"dont you understand?"

Charlotte was even more confused and it was written all over her face, she shaked her head left and right.

nic gave himself a face palm as he went through the hassle of coming up with that explanation.

"alright to be simple, these eggs are its special eggs, although I dont know why but it has to be" nic said as he believed in his gut feeling.

Charlotte still did not understand but she was not going to ask more as it was clear that nic was not even sure about his own explanation, she instead tapped nic head and pointed at the egg in the middle.

it was the odd one from the three eggs, it was as big as an ostrich egg, but what made it unique was that it was covered in scales, it was yellow in color and matched the surrounding gold.

"I dont even have an explanation for that" he said, it was obvious that it did not belong to the toad, and he had no idea if it belonged to the snake as he had no idea what a snake egg look like.

he then shake his head and came out of his thoughts, he then began to look around again.

"hmm do you think we should live here?" he said as he looked around the cavern then looked at Charlotte.

she smiled, this was her other way of saying yes to nic other than nodding.

"alright this is our home now" nic said, the main reason he wanted to live here was that he wanted to find out more about the eggs and with the surrounding monsters he could get stronger.

but suddenly an unknown pain came to nic body forcing him to kneel, Charlotte held on tight as nic suddenly turned back to his original form.

"ach" a sudden pain was felt in nic chest as blood rushed out of his mouth.
