"Chww!" nic sneezed and wiped his nose.

"seems like someone is talking about me" nic said as he placed Charlotte on the floor.

they were back at the cave entrance, nic wanted to look for something before he went back into the cavern.

he then went to the meat of the croc monster and began to search for its core.

he tore apart every piece of the croc meat but did not find anything, "it seems that monster already took it" he said as a vain bulge on his forehead.

not only did it steal his meat but it also stole his monster core.

"sigh" he was suddenly depressed as he was going to use the monster core to see if the clock would change again.

"well the only thing left to do is to kill some monsters" he said as he looked at the entrance of the cave.

"but what would I do with you while I do so" he turned to look at Charlotte who was sitting on the floor doing nothing but looking at him.

she then smiled and pointed back deeper in the cave from where they came.

"you want me to leave you in there?" nic asked, he was beginning to understand the little girl, although he would not understand everything she was trying to say he did understand most.

in response she nodded her head to tell nic yes, she then stretched out her hands to tell nic to carry her.

"alrit then" he said as he lifted the girl and placed her back onto his shoulder and began to walk to the cavern.

"when I find some way to get stronger I would let you see this world even if you have to see it from on my shoulder" nic spoke with determination, if it was really possible to make a gift stronger by using monster cores he would be able to be on the top of the world in no time.

"just you wait Ivry after I save you we would be able to create our guild after all" nic mumbled and smiled, although he was in this situation, he had not forgotten about saving Ivry.

Charlotte tapped on the side of his face as she heard what he said due to her long pointed ears.

nic had told her if she wanted to show or know something, that she was to tap the side of his face instead of trying to twist his head off.

he looked around cautiously before looking up at Charlotte, "what do you want to know" he asked as there was nothing else but them in the cave, that would mean that she wanted to know something.

she then used her finger and moved it slowly in the air as though she was writing.

"G..U..I.. l..D" nic slowly followed her hand and spell out what she wrote.

"guild?" nic said in confusion, hearing this Charlotte nodded her head, it seems that she was interested in what nic said about creating a guild.

"don't you know what a guild is" nic asked in shock as mostly everyone in the continent knew what a guild was, even though she lived as a spy on this mountain that did not mean that she would not know.

Charlotte shaked her head, it seems that she did not even knew of the word until that day.

"sigh" nic let out a breath of air as he was wondering how this girl most have been treated.

"alright I would explain then" nic said as he can see the blue glow up ahead to show that they were close to the cavern.

"a guild is a group of people that are even respected as much as any kingdom, most of these guilds even have many members that are knights, but what makes guilds so special is that it's as though they are one family bond not by blood but by strength, the strongest guild is said to have twenty knights and their leader is ranked tenth, they hold enough power to rule their own empire but instead they all relax and do as they like in the world"

a smile came on nic face as he finish explaining to Charlotte it was as though a spark had been reignited.

to be strong and live carefree in this world that was his deepest wish, he had gave up on that dream when he had learnt what a knight is long ago and the death of his mother added fuel to the flames, he had totally giving up on that goal, but now he may have a chance if monster cores can really strengthen his gift he would be able to change his life.

Charlotte tapped him again, knocking him out of his thoughts, as he looked up he can see the wide smile on her face as she pointed at herself.

nic quickly understood what she meant "ofcourse you can join my guild" hearing this a trail of water rushed down her cheek, she quickly wiped it away before nic noticed.

they came to the cavern, Charlotte pointed where she wanted to be, she wanted to be right above the pool in a position that she can also see the entrance to the cavern.

nic placed her where she wanted to, a big stalagmite was behind her back so she would not feel uncomfortable.

"I would be back as soon as I kill a monster, in the meantime hold this" nic gave her phyora, it was not a smart move to leave her with his biggest advantage but he also wanted her to be safe.

"if anything were to happen you just need to cut down the three eggs" although they were just eggs, they seemed to be special so their souls may have more value to phyora, nic hope that she would be able to deal with anything that comes into the cavern, but he would not go far from the cave entrance just incase.

Seeing this Charlotte smiled and shake her head as she tried to give back the weapon, but nic simply pushed it back to her.

"dont worry I got a feeling that my gift can do something that even these monsters wont be able to stop" he said as he got up and walked to the exit.

"remember be safe until I return" nic said as he was now out of the room, Charlotte smiled and looked at the katana blade in her hands seeing her reflection in the blackness of the blade.

"why do he threat me so different" she thought to herself, tears ran down her cheeks as she had never had this much affection, the elves treated her like garbage, they abused and violated her as though they were animals, it was not anyone that had thrown her down the mountain but it was herself, she used every bit of her strength to crawl to her death, in her mind death was better than the pain the elves brought.

she wiped her eyes with her hand and smiled as she looked at the blade once more.
