Half-elf in Black Clover (DND Edition)

History was about to change. With a gait in his step, a mind filled with dreams, and a perspective unlike any other, he shall travel through this world. Look out world, the new upcoming scientist is in town, and he looks a bit different than normal! ==================================== Honestly just here because felt like writing, and thought it would be fun. The premise is that friends and I played DND based on Black Clover, this fanfic will be a translated story of what happens on the sessions, with a few changes to better be placed in the setting, like taking out a few instances which otherwise would not make sense in Black Clovers (Listen, arson seemed like a good idea at the time!) All of the starts were randomized, be it Magic, Class, Stats, Backstory, and points (Out of 100) on how deep your backstory interacts with Cannon. While all players were Main characters, this story will follow my Character, Jason Selphis, perspective and his adventures on Black Clover while sometimes going into other POVs. This was heavily based on a DND session, so expect ridiculous, epic, funny, weird, and UN-expected shenanigans to arise. /Users be advised; there are some sad parts!/ OCs and Story Plot are from the DM, but all the rest comes from the hands of Yuki Tabata Without delay, please enjoy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fight, Fight and then Fight some more!

Walking back to their village through the forest was quite a different experience than before, they sprinted all the way so it didn't seem like much, but now that they are walking back it was at least a thirty-minute walk.

He didn't mind, it would calm the mind, simply watching the leaves of the beautiful encirclement of trees, and clear the thoughts circulating his mind.

He wasn't annoyed.

Why would he be? There is literally nothing to be annoyed about. Hell, he went and finally got his grimoire that would allow for a massive breakthrough into bloody magic studies!

No longer would his house be set on fire, and no longer would he be limited to a certain amount of mana before suddenly combusting on himself. With the grimoire acting as a catalyst, his Mana control shot through the roof, hell if he has enough control to do half the stuff he is currently thinking about, then he might just blast through the ranks of Magic Knights.

This was a huge step, especially fire magic, or at least what seemed like fire magic, there was a sun on the clover after all, so it was somehow connected to fire! Manipulating fire? Yeah right, more like manipulating the average kinetic energy of every particle within his magic radius!

So no, he was not brooding!

"Cope." Came a short smug tone from his side.

Jason did his best to refrain from using his newly acquired control over fire magic to blast his friend to smithers.

He won the internal battle, but just barely, instead, he simply huffed in annoyance "Not Jealous, who the hell even needs a clover? When you think about it, it's redundant isn't it? I mean, people would glance at your grimoire and know that you are trouble, leading to heavy targeting by enemies."

A smug smirk once again appeared in his vision, Gideon skipped a bit ahead and stared right into his eyes.

Green amused eyes met annoyed blue ones.

"How does that Copium taste like?"

"I'll kill you, don't think I won't!" Jason bit back through clenched teeth.

His old friend simply chuckled and continued walking beside him without a problem.

Oh yeah, this humiliation hurt --not!

In all honesty, Jason wasn't all that mad about it, no matter how many clovers there were on the front of his grimoire, it wouldn't change that he would be able to use magic, and harness such power through practice and dedication.

He was just infuriated that this little shit wouldn't move on!

However, Jason had to keep a smirk from showing on his face. So what if he enjoyed slightly insulting banter? It was fun as hell to make fun of people, even better when they could spit just as much fire.

But he wouldn't let Gideon know this, not in a million years!

He would never let Jason live it down.

"Whatever, it doesn't matter. I finally got my grimoire, which means more experiments to make!" Smiling brightly, he began to almost skip forward.

"Your homeless." Quickly cut the air off his sails.

Shit, he had a point. He felt like he just got sucker punched by the statement.

"And you locked yourself for two whole days in your laboratory, go touch some grass."

Another blow, this one hitting him right in the pride, almost toppled the fighter! Barely Jason was able to keep himself standing.

Gritting his teeth, Jason glared at his friend "You done?"

"Bitchless."

KNOCK OUT!!! There goes his pride. But now there is only fury!

"Die in a ditch!" there was no signal, yet without a hitch, Jason's fist flew through the air and struck Gideon's side. The small boi was launched.

People might have thought that with most of his time taken from studying and experimenting with whatever strange shit he comes up with, a scrawny scientist would be the result.

They could not be more mistaken. While definitely not the strongest one out there, Jason whole heartily believed that Magic would be much more useful with an equally powerful body.

Thus, the small body of Gideon didn't even have a chance, taken by surprise by the sudden hit he was sent flying through the air.

However, even if his mind couldn't respond in time, his body had already shifted away to mitigate the impact. In the end, that hit barely did any damage, simply being used to create space between them.

With a fantastic display of acrobatics, Gideon twisted mid-air, his feet impacting against the tough bark of a dark tree. Grunting in strain he let himself fall to the ground. Once he found footing on the floor, he sent an annoyed glare at Jason.

In return, a small smile found its way into his face. "You know what? You're right buddy, I need exercise and what better way to experiment with magic than a friendly spar?"

The temperature began to spike, a sudden flicker of orange glow, and a grimoire was now floating right in front of him.

Gideon on the other hand could not wipe the smirk off his face, "Thought you would never ask!" and disappeared in between the shadows of the trees.

This wasn't the first time they would spar, after all just like Jason, Gideon had the same dreams of becoming a Magic Knight.

Yeah, the amount of time they accidentally destroyed private and public property gave them quite an infamous reputation within the community. That is why everyone gave them such a wide birth back at the tower. The 'duo of monsters' is what everyone knew them as.

A kick came in, and Jason barely had enough time to cross his arms and block the impact. However, as he threw his arms back to throw the dark user against the trees, Gideon once again showed why he was a prodigy, launching himself away and landing a few meters off without a hitch.

Gideon was grinning.

Jason was grinning.

A dance of fists and kicks started, Jason had strength on his side, but Gideon was just a step faster. With the slight advantage in speed and incredible perception reaching levels of bullshit, he could easily keep up with the strikes.

A strong jab to the temple, not fast enough to dodge Jason simply blocked it.

A kick lashed out, Gideon dropping to his knees letting it harmlessly sail over his head.

Jumping upwards a knee struck Jason's back. However, from the awkward positioning, almost no damage was made.

What happened was the larger teenager managed to wrap his hand around the smaller one's leg.

Got you!

Pulling the leg, Gideon's balance was thrown off and he was taken off the ground.

And pulled directly to a haymaker straight to the face.

His small body sailed through the air once more, rolling on the ground upon impact, he stood up again without much trouble, simply spitting out a large gobble of blood. Gideon's guard didn't drop at all, his body still in a protective stance.

It's been a few months since their last match, both have been prioritizing their limited magic training to better accommodate their soon-to-be grimoires.

Everything which was used in this match was new, all a culmination of their wills being batched against the other to see who would rise, and who would fall.

"The score is 38 - 31 to me right?" the confidence bordering arrogance in his voice was forced, but something that Jason quickly understood would annoy the opponent and let him get to them.

Though that might be an excuse, he just liked to trash-talk some people while teabagging on their downed forms.

Gideon didn't rise to the challenge, giving a slight chuckle in return "Wow, you're counting? Talk about desperate."

This little shit!

A message passed between them. Time to step up a notch.

Something changed in the air, he could feel the hairs on his arms stand straight, a sharp feeling passing through his spine. Jason could see it, his eyes could barely catch how strange energy began to flow out of Gideon, focusing it on his grimoire.

With a maniacal glint in his eyes, he screamed "Dark Magic: Dark Gauntlets!"

He could see it, how the energy with a tint of black circled the grimoire, did an extremely advanced matrix of shapes which Jason didn't even understand, before coalescing around the hands of Gideon.

Beautiful gauntlets formed, slightly bigger than normal going all the way down his arm, yet somehow as he got in a stance there was no clanky movement.

Is dark Magic accommodating for the body of the user? Or is that a simple property of all magics? Is he focusing on the shape, or is it already pre-determined? Was the spell laid out by the grimoire? Was he the one doing most of the getup work, or was the grimoire being used as an amplifying catalyst?

So many questions, so many experiments, and so much Knowledge!

But he didn't allow himself to get completely distracted, as a response Jason pushed his magic into the grimoire, and a heat blast soon followed, the temperature of the surroundings rising per his will.

Back in the village with his foster parents, no one used attack magic when he was around, he never really had a chance to study it, or even see it in action. Same for Moltino, it's a backwater village, and rarely anything interesting happens, so any chance of analyzing and studying magic is a simple pipe dream.

But not anymore! Finally, finally, they have magic, the first step towards being a Magic Knight!

Jason was so ecstatic about seeing first-hand attacking magic, that only after actually realizing what he was looking at did a question surface in his mind.

Does this guy already have spells? What bullshit is this?

That line of thought disappeared when suddenly Gideon pounced. With great speeds, Jason was barely able to see him crossing the distance and the dark-clad fist aiming right at his chest.

Strong, much stronger than before, he could feel his arm trembling as he held the fist off. Gideon didn't let on, grunting in strain, and his other fist flew to strike his side.

Jason of course wasn't having it; he moved his arm to blo-

Guh! That hurt like a motherf-

A fist right on his temple cut him off, and for the first time in a long while, Jason was the one sent skidding backward.

Remaining on his feet leaving marks on the forest floor, with a slightly dizzy vision, Jason kept on grinning. Those gauntlets, they fucking changed the direction of Gideon's arm slightly, pushing it below the block he put up, allowing for a clear shot to his liver.

His side was throbbing in pain.

And yet this was so fun.

He could feel it, using the grimoire as a bridge between the soul and the material plane, he felt the intuitive knowledge flow through his mind—the same feeling of grabbing an axe after years and still being able to chop down wood. The magic felt familiar, warm, and invigorating.

It didn't really matter that the dark mage already knew spells.

Because his blood boiled with untapped power. His body felt more potent than ever before, magic coursing through his veins, filling his very being with energy-

Filling the spirit with fire.

And that was all Jason needed.

—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Running through the once green beautiful forest, now simply blackened with ash and embers, two figures desperately ran as fast as they possibly could. The reason might have something to do with the dozens of villagers after them with spikes and torches.

"You're a fucking idiot!"

"Wha-? How was that my fault?!"

"You set fire to the entire forest!" fine so maybe Gideon has a point, counter point-!

"Nothing could hit your bullshit Shadowy spell; Arson was the best course of action!"

"Fucking dumbass."

"You're one to talk, you edgy chunni."

Even while running he could still see the way Gideon's brow twitched in annoyance.

"Mad Psychotic Lunatic."

"Power-hungry fool."

"First-rate Mad Scientist!"

"Second rate Megalomaniac!"

And thus began the grand adventures of Jason Selphis, and Gideon Mintzs, running for their lives toward the Capital of the Clover Kingdom in hopes of entering the Magic Knights Exams.

Both were oblivious to the gaze that followed them from the sky. A small grey-haired child simply tilted his head, curiosity clear in his eyes.

Can they reach the capital of the clover kingdom? What challenges will they face along the way? Will they discover the gaze of that hidden figure? Find out next time on Drago-

I mean, Black Clover DND!

That last line is a joke that my friends and I do every time we finish a session.

Heads up, Gideon and Jason are Player Characters, this is their starting point and probably in one or two chapters we will start with Canon

By the way, beneath the surface of storytelling in this fanfic, my DM literally looked us dead in the eyes and said "Fight amongst yourself." Apparently, he thought it would be a good learning experience on the mechanics he used to make Black Clover DND.

Of course, he is a sadistic bastard for putting us against each other…

Anyways, I rolled a NAT 20 in initiative and pummeled that midget as strongly as possible.

No hesitation.

While in the session we did indeed fight, I'm gonna hold the cards here and allow our characters to shine in the next few chapters. Hope you guys enjoyed it, See ya!
