26 Wrong Idea

After Jake decided that he will look into Abby's matter by himself, he knew he couldn't step back..

When he first saw Abby in the office after 8years, he thought he will be able to stay away for them and that's what will be the best for both of them—But he was wrong..

Deep down inside he knew there was no way he could stay away from Abby—He knew that he will have to interfere and make a move if he ever see Abby getting mistreated..

After he heard about Abby's scars and he saw the day he went to drop them at their house for the first time, he could tell that they didn't have an easy past, which just made him want to protect them even more..

He told Ms Jane to call him if anything goes wrong without hesitation before grabbing his belongings once again—He was on his way home when he put his hand inside his pocket.. He felt his hand touch a small plastic bottle.. An idea popped up in his mind, he knew how to find out about it..

He was so tired that he went straight to bed, not bothering to change, take a shower or even write his daily diary..

The next day, As soon as he reached his office, he went straight into the CEO Ruby Grace's office..

She was busy writing something on her computer when Jake walked into her office..

"Man how many times do I have to tell you to knock before entering.. People will take the wrong idea" She calmly said without removing her gaze from her computer screen..

"Sorry this is urgent" he said while taking a seat in from of her..

"What is it" she paused her work and looked at him..

"Do you know anyone who can tell about Medicine and just overall is into that stuff?"

"Woah Woah there.. Is this for your new story or something?"

"Nah it's for.. well.." he took out the empty medicine bottle and placed it on the table..

"You see .. I want to find out more about this medicine"

Ruby took it in her hand, looking carefully at it..

"Pes...yum...ti.... Are all medicines names this hard to say?"

To which Jake shrugged..

"So why do you want to find out more about it?"

"Well.. you see.. this medicine got banned years ago and it's illegal now.. I did research myself and let's just say it doesn't have a good reputation and now some people still use it as...drugs.. like not medicine drugs...but ...those...kind of drugs" he hesitated..

"Wait- If so ... Jake... Why the f*ck do you have this?!"

"Wait no no no it's not mine"

"Then?"

"Uh.. You know yesterday I worked till even after the shift was over? So um.. Abby was with me and they helped me with work and stuff and we walked home together after that" he said not knowing that there was a small smile on his face ..

Ruby smirked "And?"

She gasped "DON'T TELL ME-"

Jake snapped out of thought by her loud noise..

"Woman what the hell is wrong with your mind!"

"It's your fault you were the one with a creepy smile on"

Jake shook his head and continued to explain the whole thing..

"First of all.. I didn't know that you guys have gotten that close-"

"No, we are not that's just cause of Lily-"

"Don't interrupt me"

"Ok" he quickly shut his mouth..

"So.. and second.. Did you not say that you will try to stay away from them as much as possible?"

"I know I did but.. I just can't help it.."

"Be careful.. People often get hurt while trying to protect others"

Jake would share everything with Ruby and that was because of how good she was at giving advice..

"I'll try my best"

"And as for this.." she pointed at the medicine bottle..

"I know someone who knows a lot about these stuff.. Her name is Chloe.. Chloe Flynn"

She took out her phone and typed something in..

Jake felt his phone vibrate..

"You can find her there"

He looked at the location she send him..

"That's..quite far.." he said..

"You want it or not?"

"Of course I do!"

With that, he was about to leave but stopped.. He took out some papers from his bag and gave them to her..

Those were the paper Abby printed for him..

As he thought about yesterday, once again a small smile appeared on his face ..

"Bro seriously that smile of yours can and will easily give people the wrong idea.. Quit it and go to work"

Jake's face slowly turned red as he left her room, flustered..

He realized that people were looking at him and his red face actually may give them the wrong idea..

He cleared his throat and walked away, pretending that nothing happened..

The whole day he didn't see Abby..

He wasn't surprised that they didn't come today..

He was just hoping that they were feeling better now..

Just like yesterday, he left long after his shift ended..

But today, he was alone..

As the time slowly passed, he got more and more worried about Abby to the point he couldn't focus on his work anymore..

He was wondering if he should go and check up on them or not..

'I should not disturb them like this.. They may think that I am being way too annoying and clingy'

With that he begin to walk home..
