33 The Past (part 3) "The Secret"

15-year-old Jake slowly opened his eyes as he woke up to the sound of alarm..

He turned off the alarm while yawning..

Feeling something heavy on his chest, he looked down to see a person with soft light brown hair resting their head on his chest..

He gently lifted his hand to stroke their hair but as soon as he placed his hand on his best friend's head they quickly raised their head and looked up at his face..

The young boy felt his face flustered and his heart skipped a beat seeing his friend's face, who he was falling for, three inches apart from his..

Abby winked at him to tease the blushing boy which made him panic—He quickly pushed them away making them fall off of the bed..

"Move! I can't feel my arm anymore!"

"Oww! My back! HEY, YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO PUSH ME THAT HARD!"

Abby said while standing up with their hand placed on their back..

Bickering and arguing, they were both growing up—Learning new things, realizing how they feel towards each other and still not saying anything..

Jake was slowly realizing that he was falling for his best friend—Yet he was scared.. He was terrified to lose his only friend..

He didn't want to lose the person who helped him understand himself, love, and accept himself..

He was starting to realize that he have been in love with his friend ever since he saw them, he just didn't know what love was at that age..

It was all starting to make sense to him.. Why would he would notice every single detail about them.. Why he would never get annoyed when they steal his food or clothes.. Why is he always that their goofy laugh and dramatic personality was the cutest thing he have ever seen..

Every little thing about them was reeling him in since the beginning.. To him, Abby was perfect..

But at the same time, he hated it.. He hated not being able to say it out loud.. He hated not being able to tell them how much he cares about them.. How happy he would get every time he would see their face..

'What if they didn't like the truth'

He was scared—Too scared to open up and show his true self and what was in his heart..

He always felt like he could never open up to the people he know, especially to the ones he love.. He was too scared by the idea of them not liking his truth, his feelings.. He was too scared that they will leave—Or simply just be bothered.. He didn't want to bother the person he loved, his best friend..

Jake was out to buy some things his mother asked him to get.. He and Abby planned to have a movie marathon since it was a Saturday evening—They planned to watch movies till dawn..

Abby was waiting for him in his room, pacing back and forth.. They were bored.. They plopped themself on his bean bag, stretching out their body..

They felt their feet hit something—Something that looked like a diary, laying under the cupboard..

They grabbed it and carefully looked at it..

It was Jake's journal..

"Should I... Nah I shouldn't.... A little peek won't hurt- nah what is wrong with me.. How would I feel if someone reads your dairy huh?" They were about to put it back to where it was but they stopped..

"But I won't mind if it's Jake reading mine"

With a grin on their face, they closed their eyes and opened a random page to read..

[School sucks!!!! Can I quit it? I cant!! Wish I could though.

We had pasta for dinner. Uncle Jeff made it. I swear I can eat the pasta he cooks for the rest of my life without even complaining!

I watched a horror movie today with Ash. I was telling him not to put on a horror one but no that guy never listens to me I can't even tell him that I find those movies scary he will probably make fun of me. One day, I'll quietly break all his horror movie CDs..

Iris spilled water all over me today and started crying like I was the one to spill it on her. I can tell once she grows up, that girl is going to be extremely clever]

Abby pouted seeing that there wasn't anything about them on that page..

"Let's try again.." they said before closing their eyes again before choosing a page..

[I saw some kids bullying Ash.. I just can't understand why he has to go through all this .. He deserves so much better than this.. He told me how he feel like he deserve all this but I just wish I could give him my eyes maybe then he could see how precious he is! That dumb boy!]

Abby sighed before turning the page..

[If only I could tell this human how much that dumb stupid idiot mean to me. You are probably blind! You can't see how perfect you are! You said that you don't like the sound of your laughter like are you kidding me?! You literally have the cutest laugh I've ever heard for God's sake! I'm literally like BADLY in love with you and your laughter stop thinking about the flaws that don't even exist!!..]

Abby gasped..

'In love?' Jake's in love with someone- wait..'

They flipped back to the previous page..

''Is he.. in love with... Ash.. WHAT!''

They turned the page twice skipping lines Jake wrote about other people..

[I can't tell you how you make me feel things I've never felt before.. How my heart does these weird things whenever I see you smile.. I don't want to ruin our friendship.. I don't want to lose you.. I don't even know how uncle Jeff will react when they will hear that I am in love with their child haha.. He'll probably get mad.. A person like me doesn't deserve you after all.. you're just too good for anyone, literally an angel.. Is it really wrong to fall for a friend?? :( ]

Abby thought that Jake was in love with their brother.. They were ready to support them but something inside them, wasn't happy about this and they weren't even aware of it..

They decided that they will ask Jake about it today..
