VINCE LISTENS TO GILBERT'S PLAN

Vince observed how she reaches across to Gilbert's side, holding his face and turning it, just as she had kissed him, she kisses Gilbert's lips, when she whispers, "I have missed you so much, and I can't wait until next week.

Now my darling you will have to excuse me." When she reaches out and holds Vince's hand saying, "It was nice meeting you, Mr. Montgomery. I am glad you are here with your friend to give moral support.

I would have liked to walk up the alter this weekend with him, but I have a more pressing matter to deal with. I am sure you will be with James next week to give him some moral support, goodbye."

Watching her go, Vince thought, 'What the hell just happen? I thought she was going to accept the proposal but instead, she was reaffirming our marriage for Saturday.'

Wanting to know what she was doing Vince said, "Gilbert, just excuse me for a minute, I just remember I have to make an important call."

Standing outside the restaurant calling her phone, getting only a busy tone, "God, what is she doing, this is the chance we have been waiting for, and she is blowing it big time, this is frustrating."

Returning once more inside the restaurant, only to hear Gilbert boasting to the waiter telling him, "That he has gotten the girl of his choice."

Sitting down then placing his orders for his lunch, "Did you get through with your called Vince?"

"Yes Gilbert, I did and I must congratulate you," shaking his hand.

"Thanks, Vince, you won't believe how happy I am, I thought Sid was still angry with me."

"I am glad to hear that things are working out for you."

"I still can't believe all my dreams are beginning to become a reality." Observing the way, he was clapping his hand, "Now I can get my business on track."

"I don't understand, Gilbert."

"Vince, very soon you will, with Sid and I working, we can put our money together and before I know it, my business will be lunching out big times."

"Gilbert, but didn't she say she was going to resign, because you will be moving to Boston?"

"Vince, my friend, I am not worried, when I speak with her she will change her mind."

"What are you up to Gilbert, the young lady seems to be a nice person, and she did say she missed you?"

"When we get married, hopefully, we will be living right here, that is why I am here, the head office wants me to search out an area to set up an office.

So you see, she won't have to leave her job and with her salary, we can pay the bills and have left over's, and I could use mine to invest."

"That sounds wonderful, but I am a bit puzzle."

"What are you puzzled about Vince?"

"Gilbert, will she agree to such an arrangement?"

"Vince, Sid loves me and I know as you have heard for yourself, anything I ask her to do she will agree."

"So, you have this all figured out already?"

"Yes, I had only realized my mistake when I left her and gone two months ago. So, I decided to set up everything and now that she said yes, I will proceed with my investment."

"Well good luck, I hope she agrees with your plan."

"Oh, she will, I only have one problem."

"What's that, Gilbert?"

"I have to get her a ring and she doesn't wear jewelry."

"Well, get her a set that she can wear."

"That is one of the problems Vince, to get her that it will cost me a good few thousand.

You see one of the reasons I left before, was, that she had selected a chain set to hold a ring and it had taken them three months to fill that order. And when it did come, it was a bit over my budget."

"Well, they must be still holding it now, and with your promotion, I am sure you could afford it, so what is the problem now?"

Seeing him dip his head a bit, "What's wrong Gilbert, you don't have the cash?"

"I am afraid not Vince."

"Can, I ask something Gilbert?

"What's that Vince?"

"Does Sid have any idea you are short of cash?"

"I don't think so."

"So, who was offsetting the cost of your wedding the last time?"

"Her Mom insisted that she will stand all expenses, only I had to get my thing." Recalling, her mom said the same thing to him, that is why she returned all the cash.

"Gilbert, is her parents loaded?"

Seeing him smile, "Vince, her mom is about to gain a lot soon."

"Now you are really confusing me, I don't understand what you are saying?"

"Vince, while Sid and I were courting, Sid invested a lump sum into a business putting her mom's name. I recently learned that the business is flourishing and soon she will receive a pretty good raise.

Vince, I am so excited, that is the same business I plan to invest in, but I have to raise fifty thousand before the twenty-fifth of May."

"But Gilbert that's only three weeks away and when did you get this information? Before you leave her or after?"

"It was the week after but with Sid's help, I could get a loan and she is very conservative, so I am sure she has good savings and the Hall she rents out brings in a fast income."

"They have a Hall?"

"Yes, it raises over eight thousand a weekend."

"Wow, that's a good business."

"I know, but Sid doesn't touch that money unless it is an emergency, With Georgia's job and Caroline attending to the business home with her mom. They are pretty well off and if I explain why I need the cash, Sid won't mind giving me the money to invest."

"Sounds, like you have this all worked out."

"I hope so, now I have to make sure she walks up the isles and says yes, only then I could get the ball rolling."

Seeing him was about to pay for the lunch, "Aye buddy, allow me, right now you have a full-proof plan and every cent is counted."
