7: Time Skip and Middle School

A young man in a room looked at the showcase full of trophies and medals hanging in the wall. His blue eyes expressing the feelings of letting go and sadness. This was our protagonist Kenji Miyamoto currently 15 year old.

He stood in front of the showcase and reminence about his volleyball adventure and struggles.

Kenji's POV:

'It's time to hang the banner huh' It was some gruesome journey to complete my middle school but it was all well and fun to go through those hardships ngl.

I joined the Tokyo International Academy famous for their academic and sports accolades. I still remember the day I was late going to school because I over slept.

It was truly unfortunate and bad impression for the first day. While I was running to go to school, I saw some thugs harassing a girl. I noticed the uniform were similar to mine and decided to go see at what was going on and it was the best decision of my life.

"Hey Cutie, wanna go on a date with me"

"Let him be how about going with me instead"

The thugs were harassing her to go on a date with her. As soon as I got there I punched the thug at front.

*Puch… boom…

It was a successful knock out, with my copy ability I have learned all the martial arts available and created a unique art of fighting.

The thugs looking at their friend getting knock out, jump me all at once but with my Apex body and accelerated mind they were moving in slow motion. I skillfully dodged their attacks and did a CQC jab and hooks to knock the all out.

I took a deep breath to gather my self and went towards the girl who was scared and was shivering in the corner, I went near her.

"Hey get up, they are all knocked out you are free to go" I stayed playing it cold and cool.

She then lifts her face to see if it was true and her face was so beautiful yet familiar, I got butterflies in my stomach looking at her.

"Thank you for helping me uh.."

"Call me Kenji"

"Yeah Kenji-san thank you, My name is Kiyoko Shimizu." She said while blushing.

I looked at her and turned around to go to school which I was already late for while playing it cool.

At the school on the first day I got the punishment for being late. What a drag it was.

I filled the form and entered the gym to meet my new teammates for my whole middle school.

Everybody introduced themselves starting with the first years then second then third years. It was fun playing with them.

In my first tournament I was already a starter in my first year. We played again Seiki middle school. We absolutely dominated them with score of 25-6. Them getting points just from our service errors.

We breeze through the qualifiers,quarter final and semi finals lastly meeting Izigenzi Middle School for a spot in nationals.

It was a exhausting game but we made it to the nationals with my last spike breaking through the other teams blocks.

I also gained a nickname for my self with this tournament. "Imperial Ace" I don't know where they got this nickname from its absolutely cringe at that moment and still now.

We went to Semi final in nationals and lost against Fukurodani middle school who had Bokuto.

My ship with Kiyoko was sailing. We often met each other after school and walk home together. She is already a third year old and graduate this year which was a sad time for me.

In my second year, after the third graduated I became the 'Ace' of the team, we easily won our regional match and qualified for the nationals again, this time we went straight to the finals and faced Itachiyama Middle School.

We lost the first set to them, Sakusa's spike caused the havoc for us, his unique spin in his spike made it hard to receive.

I analyzed his way of adding spin and copied it, then in the second set we had a come back. I bombarded their court with attackes adding different spins from different hand and won the set.

Third set was absolutely nutshell everyone was tired but no one was will to give up. I still remember what Kaneki-san said.

'This is my final year but It doesn't mean I am gonna quit easily and be piggybacked by juniors, I am gonna break through this curse of ordinary and step into the realm of genius'

He was really serious when he said that back then, after the break third set began Itachiyama started to gain the momentum and score was I think 23-22 with Sakusa up to serve.

What a situation we were in, he served and got a ace getting them set point 24-22. That was when something inside me clicked. We called a time out.

I was sitting in the bench dazed, but inside I was drowning in water suddenly a huge gate appeared in front of me. There were some writing at the top.

As I read that the door crackled and opened up, it was such a majestic feeling. It was very bright but after I entered the door, I saw a throne in the middle of the room surrounded by gold and platinum aura around it.

I didn't even realize when I was in front of it, when I got there the light shown brightly and a crown manifestated in the throne floating and landing on my head, engulfing my whole body with platinum and gold aura.

I sat on the throne and my aura merged with the throne. Suddenly in my head some words came.

[Unleash the Tyrant within: Firce the world to bow down to your feet, Dominance Divinity]

As I said those words, but in real time I was zoned out and dozed in front of others but then suddenly everybody looked toward me.

I was pouring out unknown pressure from my body, everybody in the stadium felt the pressure raising and was getting hard to breath.

Time out was up and I got back and started to walk towards the court, my teammates saw something flash in my eyes a platinum golden lightning.

I went near my setter and with my aura oozing out of me I said,

"I will get the ball up just set the ball high and close to the net, I am gonna break through everything" after that I went near my libero and senpai said,

"Move a little to the corner, I will cover this whole area" they wanted to say something but didn't and got ready to receive.

I really felt bad for saying that but what can I do when I am in the zone.

Sakusa was about to serve when he felt it, the abnormal pressure from Me, he served and added his unique spin to it. I saw the balls spin with me in zone it was slow as a snail.

I perfectly received the ball and my setter sets a perfectly high ball.

I took a deep breath and approached to spike my every step sounded with the lightning cracking, on the last step thunderous lightning roared and I took flight.

The 3 man blockers of Itachiyama came and jump, something again inside me was pisssed,

'Wanna challenge the absolute, then I will make you kneel…. ' my body oozing with even more pressure then before completely freezing the blockers, send shivers down the everyone's spine.

When I jump my chest was higher than the net, I smashed the ball with all my might.

The ball disappeared and reappeared I'm the middle of the court. Leaving everyone shocked. The it was my turn to serve the ball.

I basically entered the zone and completely dominated them and we were the national champion. I was dead tired my body was not familiar with zone but I got the MVP,Best Spiker,Best Blocker and a nationally renowned name for my self the 'Imperial General', I don't know how they even gave me this name.

In my third year we completely dominated the country, and won the nationals again. As usual I got the MVP and other awards. I was scouted by many teams to go to their school and many pro teams came for me.

It was such a hassle dealing with them but my father help me sort things out, you must remember I am rich like rich rich. I also as my hobby produced music and drew some mangas.

Todays it's the last day of my middle school, today I officially graduate middle school and go to high school.

Kenji then walk out his room and goes downstairs to have some break fast.

Although they were rich they lived in a moderated mansion but very extravagant.

It was facilitated with all the latest technology, the mansion was surrounded by lush forest, there was indoor volleyball court and swimming pool everything that's in a mansion was here.

Kenji had his break fast and went out of his house in his bike. Although he is under age just 15 he is 6'1 in height nobody is gonna know he is a middle schooler.

Kenji zooms through the traffic and parks at the school's parking lot, Kenji gets of his bike and walks toward the volleyball gym.

Upon arrival Kenji sees his juniors practicing and his coach teaching them the basic, Coach Tatsuya is a renowned figure in middle school volleyball, he scouts the absolute best players.

I went near him and greated him, he was smiling seeing me back.

"Oh Kenji-Kun… how was your holidays? Did you meet with Kiyoko-chan" Although I call him coach but he is way closer than that.

"No coach just some outdoor picnic with my family.." Kenji replied.

"So today you graduate from middle school,how are you feeling"

"Gonna miss these moments,Coach. Anyway why even train today"

"These kids forced me to come, soon the qualifiers are coming and without you our attack has been degraded" said Coach Tatsuya with saddened expression.

"Don't worry you will pull it through.."

Kenji chatted for a bit and went toward the grand hall of the Academy. The graduation ceremony was going to be held there.

All the third years sat on the chair in the middle of the hall, after some time the ceremony was commenced.

All the ceremony was complete and Kenji was walking toward his bike when an unexpected hand closed his eyes, he immediately knew who it was and hugged her, It was Kiyoko coming to see his graduation. They went on a date and later Kenji invited her to stay over but she said she had to go have, so he dropped her in the station and hugged her goodbye.

"I will come and meet you soon, Kiyoko-chan"

"I will be waiting for you"

As they said that they both went their ways,

Kenji reaching his home said to his mother if the packing was done. Emiko just nodded and looked at Kenji with a sad eye.

"Do you really have to go that far to Miyamura, can't you just go to a Tokyo high school"said Emiko

"Sorry mom but I promised someone that I will go to high school there, but don't worry your boy is grown up" said Kenji flexing his muscles and smiled.

Both of them laugh and have some mother son moments.

"And also Kenji we baught a house for you there although not big it should be enough for you" Emiko said toward Kenji

"Can I see a picture mom, please" Kenji said with his puppy eye but got denied saying it was suprise for him.

Kenji got up from the sofa and went in his room to get freshened up. He looked at the packed suitcases and thought

'I finally get to go to Karasuno, it's gonna be amazing. I am excited….'

He did some stretches before going to bed and after he finished it, he chugged the water and went to bed.
