4 To The School Festival! (1)

So, I decided to change the title to "Haikyuu!!: The God of Information" because I feel that's more appropriate to my plans. Sorry for changing the title. (⁠￣⁠ヘ⁠￣⁠;⁠)

In the driveway.

*Slam*

Mayeda Tatsuo was currently in their car. He was on his way to his school because today is the first day of the school festivals!

School festivals in Japan were greatly anticipated by all students. Students were able to showcase student learning as a diversion for social interaction. Also, by doing that, the school can present a good image to students' parents and residents through various attractions held by students.

'Oh!, and there is also the sports day!... Unfortunately, there is no volleyball in elementary...'

He had always known that but it was really sad news...

'Now that I think about it. If elementary students did do volleyball, it will be a disas... no, it will be a cute disaster. They'll probably just pass the ball to each other...'

He laughed as he imagine it.

"Tatsu-kun, please fastened your seatbelt," The driver said.

"Yes, sir" he answered and fastened his seatbelt.

'What a polite kid' the driver thought.

The driver started the engine while Tatsuo brought out his game boy. He connected the Nintendo earphone jack behind the flip game boy and started his favorite game.

Super Mario. A globally popular game even in his previous life. But it was just released this year.

Having fun was not the only purpose of him playing. Somehow, it also helped him distract himself from his fear of roads.

Years ago, when he was still a kid. Well, technically, he was still a kid but you get his point.

Long story short.

There was a time when their family wanted to go out of town but he knew he had Agyrophobia. So, when d-day comes, he kept crying as they drive away and no matter what lullaby or extra care his parents did, he did not stop. So, without a choice, they canceled their trip.

A day later, they decided to go to the nearest pediatric hospital to check if there was anything wrong with him. Test after test happened before his parents got the news that he has Agyrophobia, the fear of crossing streets.

'Oh! there is also a time when they accidentally discovered that I can be distracted as long as I keep playing...'

It was also because of that they decided to just home tutored him even though not necessary as he still knows his previous life. But, of course, he complied with their wishes.

Not until he was 7 years old that he decided to convince his parents. Of course not through words but by his actions.

'I decided to do that because being home-schooled is quite boring and unnecessary...'

His thoughts were interrupted when driver-san said something.

"We're here Tatsu-kun"

In Kaisei Elementary school

It is one of the prestigious schools in Japan for the elementary education category. So, it was a privilege for the students to go here and make connections with other students.

Yup, this is where Tatsuo is currently studying. But he didn't come here to study, instead, to have fun! with friends of course.

Mock him for as long as you want but he decided to live his life to the fullest!

And to make that happen, he intended to try various things that he would like to try other than volleyball.

'As for dating...Uh...I think it'll make me a pedophile' Tatsuo though. 'But meh, let's forget about it for now'

He was still a kid, the age where love is not a problem.

He was currently standing at the entrance staring at the banner hanging between the poles.

"The pen is mightier than the sword," it says.

Just like what the banner says, Kaisei Elementary School is more into academics and one of the best in Japan at that. But even then, the lessons were quite ordinary for him because even before (his previous life) he was one of the smartest in his class.

Just when he was still boasting to himself, a shout sounded behind him.

"Tatsu-chan! We're here!" Nunoe shouted excitedly.

Distracted, Tatsuo looked toward the source of the sound. What he saw was like a bunny jumping excitedly as if he saw his carrot.

"Ah! Nunoe-chan!" Tatsuo said as Nunoe said goodbye to his driver before running in his direction.

"Did you see the upcoming new version of Legend of Zelda!" Nunoe said excitedly as soon as got to Tatsuo.

"Ah?" Tatsuo answered. Now that he thought about it, this year was also the time when Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap was released.

"Ah! The Minish Cap?" Tatsuo answered.

"Yes!" Nunoe said before continuing "Did you see the teaser?! it was so good! I'm excited to play it..."

They chatted for a while waiting for the other squad members to arrive and when they arrived, they immediately set off to see the stalls.

1st day: Kaisei School Festival

"Hurry! Before the barbecue meat stall gets crowded!"

Yup, that was Nunoe. Energetic as ever. He was like the lightbulb of his three boring friends. Thanks to him this group never had a quiet time.

"I can buy the whole stall..." Ukio whispered to himself and then looked at Fuku. No, rather, it was the chime that Fuku was holding he was looking at.

Nunoe pouted and grumbled which Ukio ignored as he had more important matters to attend to.

"Fuku-chan, can I buy that thing in your hands?!" Ukio said with shining eyes of a merchant.

'Spoiled child'. That was the word to describe Ukio. But it's not to the point that he was forcing other to get what he like.

'Well, maybe just a little.. he got money so, he can buy what he wants.'

"No, this is my lucky charm for the day" Fuku answered instantly.

Yup, Tatsuo didn't know how he got this hobby but just one week ago, Fuku brought things with him saying it was his lucky charm. Holding onto it every time except when they were practicing volleyball. Also, he stopped bringing a bag full of unexpected items.

'Well, that was the prons of bringing his lucky charm' he thought.

Ukio did not force him as he can always buy something like that somewhere else.

Seeing these three together, he feels that even without him they can be good friends. He was the contriver of this group but he was feeling like a spectator of three friends together.

'Enough with negative thoughts'

He shook his head to erase these thoughts.

A moment later, they arrived at their destination. It was delicious, others say. At first, he did not believe them because kids were the ones selling it and not adults.

But reality slapped him hard... because when they are within the vicinity of its smell, he unconsciously drooled. If he, who did not expect something, reacted like that then his three other friends were basically lifted off the ground by the heavenly smokey smell.

Even if there are other food smells in the air, the smokey smell from that stall is overwhelming to the point of only smelling the smoke.

It did not take long before their turn to buy Yakiniku skewers.

'Maybe because this stall was such a famous stall out of other stalls, they decided to sell only 1 per person which is a bit stingy'

Even Ukio tried to negotiate but failed.

As they were walking, Tatsuo noticed someone familiar but he can't pinpoint who is it as he did not remember someone similar to him.

'A kid about my age, I think?...Black hair and owl-like eyes. Wow, even his face shape is like an owl...[1]' he thought. Even after figuring out this much, he still couldn't guess who is it.

'Maybe I'm just being creepy staring at an unusual kid...'

The squad continued exploring the various attraction the school festival offered before calling it a day and sleep for another round of activities for tomorrow.

"Bye!"

(1. I researched what was ****** hair color but I can't see any sure answer so I decided that his hair color when he was a kid was black.)

(AN: I know you can probably guess now who is it but a little pinch of mysteriousness can't be that bad.)
