23 Chapter 23 - Something Important

"...Alright, I'll go around to get your assignments." the teacher said as the students groaned.
In a classroom seated a boy in an inconspicuous corner where teachers could not see him doing 'back row' things. Like right now, he was dazed as he stared attentively at a scrunchie in his hand.
"Hmm..." Tatsuo didn't know why he was so interested in this scrunchie. At first, he wanted to dump it in the trash after seeing Rockstar gnawing it, but decided to keep it after having a change of mind.
"... Tatsu-kun?"
A voice sounded beside Tatsuo as he turned his head in a flash and replied stuttering "Y-yes, teacher?"
'Did he pick the scrunchie somewhere?' the teacher looked at the Tatsuo's hand and seeing him stuttering, she figured that he was deep in thought because of it. She let him be as he was the rank 1 of her class.
"Be sure to listen, alright?" the teacher reminded and she brought her hands out before saying "Assignment?" sternly.
Right after the collection, the bell rang as the students stood up from their seats trying to step out of the classroom first to line up for the cafeteria.

"Gakushin, what do you think is that~?" Nunoe whispered to Fuku beside him as he looked at Tatsuo still staring at the scrunchie even after the teacher's warning.
"A scrunchie..." Fuji replied inattentively as his mind was on something else.
'Is it finally my time to have a partner zodiac astrologer?!' he thought with eagerness appearing on his face.
"Then why is he holding it like that?" Nunoe pointed at Tatsuo's hands.
Akira didn't bother joining their conversation as he focused his gaze on the scrunchie in Tatsuo's hand and without hesitation, he initiated the negotiation and said "Do you sell those?" while pointing at the thing.
Tatsuo woke up from his daydream as he turned his head immediately after hearing the familiar grumpy voice.
"Oh, this?" Tatsuo raised the scrunchie "Well, I got it after noticing Rockstar gnawing on it when we were at Miyagi"
Fuku was disappointed.
"Then, are you selling it?" Akira turned deaf ear to the latter part.
Tatsuo was dumbfounded but he quickly recovered as he sighed and said "Hmm, okay"
"Really?!" Akira was delighted as after being friends for many years he finally succeeded in buying personal things from Tatsuo since the first day they played volleyball.
"But! on one condition..."
Akira's delighted face vanished after hearing the infamous words. Tatsuo was satisfied seeing the incomprehensible face on Akira's face before continuing.
"You will be my juice guinea pig for a month, kekkekkek..." Tatsuo laughs like an evil.
"You're evil, Tatsu. You're evil!" Akira said in an alarmed tone as the memories he had hidden emerged from within. Without second thoughts, he ran away from the evil Tatsuo.
"Argh, wait! don't leave me here with this taste-riddens!" Nunoe followed Akira as he gagged in the hallway while running. As for Fukuhara, he stayed with Tatsuo.
"So, is It your lucky charm now?" Fuku asked out of nowhere which received a deadpanned face from Tatsuo. Fuku shrugged his shoulders before stepping out of the classroom.
Tatsuo looked at the scrunchie, once again, before putting it in his pockets and started walking after Fukuhara to the cafeteria.

Kaiser Academy - Middle School Gymnasium
Ball thumping and shoes squeaking can be heard inside the gym and if one listened closely, muffled grunting can be heard frequently because right now, the boy's volleyball team of Kaisei Academy were in training.
The 'All-Japan Middle School Athletics Tournament', or AJapMSAT in short, was only a month away. Every regional representative is for it as it was the stage for the strong including Kaisei Academy as their goal is to win the tournament, breaking the stereotype of 'newbie's luck'
And after their first tournament outside the school, they progressed significantly in their mind, decreasing their crowd nervousness while improving their court communication.
Therefore, Tatsuo came up with a new regime only for their body because according to what he had researched, teenagers tend to grow more during puberty, which is why he was abusing its duration.
He already knew that Haikyuu's character's potential physical prowess was higher than the Earth he once belonged to. After a few years of observing his teammates, he noticed that their bodies were far stronger than what a normal kid should have had during their age.
"Tatsuo-kun!..." Inoue Mamoru spoke as he tapped Tatsuo's shoulder excessively. As soon as Tatsuo turned his head, Inoue said something to Tatsuo.
*clap**clap*
"Alright, pause what you're doing right now and gather up everyone! I have an announcement to make!" Tatsuo shouted to get the attention of everybody.
Every member stopped what they were doing as they turned their heads toward their captain as if asking 'why?' to which Tatsuo responded "Just gather up! come on, come on!"
Sensing the importance of the announcement, they walked up to their captain without complaints. Tatsuo nodded in satisfaction after seizing everyone's attention and began announcing.
"As you all know, All-Japan Middle School Athletics Tournament is exactly 30 days away from now, it's the reason why we were practicing" Tatsuo looked around before continuing.
"I know some of you missed playing with other schools," Tatsuo said as he stopped for Nunoe for a few seconds before announcing the important part. "That's why we're having a practice against Fukurodani Academy!"
"" What?!"" Everyone was shocked except for Tatsuo and Inoue as they knew it beforehand. Everyone began asking questions one after another.
"Isn't it Fukurukuru Academy a strong team?!" Nunoe jumbled his words due to excitement and confusion which cause everyone to laugh.
"You mean 'Fukurodani' and yes, it's that team" Tatsuo answered which was quickly followed by a question.
"How did you schedule a match with them?" Tada Minori asked.
"Coach Inoue has someone he knows from Fukurodani," Tatsuo said as he looked at Inoue Mamoru who responded with a smile.
Afterward, the question and answer portion continued until Tatsuo decided to end it with one last question.
"So, if they're that strong, how will we beat them?" Kaneshiro Tomio asked which gained everyone's agreement and looked at Tatsuo for an answer.
"Oh, you're timing was impeccable, Tomio-san, I was just about to explain it to everyone," Tatsuo said which made Tomio scratch his nape in embarrassment.
"Alright, listen up! we're gonna have a new training regime from tomorrow onwards! exciting, isn't it?" Tatsuo announced enthusiastically which only received a groan from everyone as they attempted to escape the grasp of the devil incarnate.
