1 Chapter 1 - Death!

In a hospital bed a man lay while surrounded by his family. His name was Robert Mason. He used to be a scientist in his younger years. He had even worked at CERN in Switzerland for 5 years. Right now, he was on his last breath and was looking at his beloved family.

There was his son, who had become a successful businessman over the years, his wife who was a good housewife and their 18 year old son. Among their family the old man was the closest to his grandson.

He would often spend his time with his grandson Clark, playing games with him and reading some books as well. Clark would often tell him about the books he was currently reading and would even ask him to join him while reading. When Clark was young he had even said that Robert was his idol and that he would also become a scientist just like him. Robert always felt that the best days of his life were spent with his grandson, Clark.

Robert looked towards his family and said," I know you guys will miss me over the coming years, but remember as I always said 'There is no need to live in the past, just focus on where you are and where you wish to be and everything else will fall into place.' Now Clark, remember that I am always watching over you, so be brave, study hard and become a great man." With that said, he closed his eyes and breathed his last.

Robert found himself floating in a blank space. He was very groggy and did not know just how much time had passed since he arrived in this void. It could have been a few hours, a few days, a few months or even years. At times he felt like just a moment had passed and at others as if it had been a millennia. In the beginning, he would keep remembering all of his memories in excruciating details. He would go through them over and over. In time, he started focusing on just where he was. In this void, he could see that he was all alone. So, he started floating around. It was difficult at first but he quickly got used to it. He chose a direction at random and went on his way. Unbeknownst to him, a being of unimaginable power was watching him with interest. Robert kept on floating in a single direction for a long time, at least thats what he thought. Slowly, he grew bored of that and started to do various stunts in the air. He never felt tired, ever since he came to this place. What he did not know was that he was unconsciously absorbing some kind of energy from this void, which kept on increasing his soul strength. As he grew tired of doing stunts, he kept floating in the same direction he was floating before.

Then, there was a sudden change in his scenery. He did not know what was happening, but rather than being afraid of the unknown, he found the feeling refreshing. During all of his monotonous days in the void, he longed for such a change in scenery. So, this was quite a welcome change for him. He started looking around in order to find out just how he came to this place. While he was looking around, he found that this place that he was in was completely white. It did not feel like he was in a room but rather outside. There was no floor, no walls, no ceiling. He kept looking around, trying to find something interesting. He suddenly felt like someone was watching him. Ever since he was young he had very acute senses and he learned to trust them as he grew. So, without any hesitation, he turned around and looked behind himself. What he saw, shocked him so much that it felt like he was about to jump out of his own skin, if he had skin to begin with.

There was a man or a being standing there, and he was looking at him with interest.
