58 Chapter 58: Personal Terminal

"That's 'Phantom Shift' and 'Phantom Reveal,' a form of teleportation magic. Wizards usually start learning them in the 5th or 6th year," Bell explained. "But wizards can't perform 'Phantom Shift' and 'Phantom Reveal' within Hogwarts because the school is protected by 'Anti-Phantom Shift Barrier' and 'Anti-Phantom Reveal Barrier.'"

(Phantom Shift and Phantom Reveal are two spells. When combined, they enable instant teleportation. If Phantom Shift fails, there's a phenomenon called split body where part of the body remains in the original place. If Phantom Reveal fails, the wizard gets embedded into an object like a wall or a trash can.)

"I have some impression of that. It seems it's recorded in 'A History of Hogwarts.' How does Lym perform 'Phantom Shift' and 'Phantom Reveal' then?" Hermione recalled from what she read in the book.

"Because Lym is a house-elf, their magic system is different from wizards', so the 'Anti-Phantom Shift Barrier' and 'Anti-Phantom Reveal Barrier' can't restrict them."

Lym acted swiftly. Before Bell and Hermione could exchange more words, it returned with a brand-new 'Personal Terminal.'

"Hermione, what color do you like?" Bell took the 'Personal Terminal' and asked Hermione.

"Bell!? Wait, does this mean... Is this really for me?" Hermione had a hunch since earlier, but she was afraid of assuming too much, so she didn't dare ask.

"Of course."

"No, I can't accept this; it's too precious!" Hermione shook her head vigorously. Although she really wanted a 'Personal Terminal,' she couldn't accept Bell's gift for nothing.

"It's not as precious as you think, Hermione. You might not know, but the 'Personal Terminal' is actually manufactured by my family. So I just brought one from home, didn't even need to spend a Knut."

"But..."

Seeing Hermione hesitating, obviously wanting it but feeling hesitant to accept, Bell had to be more insistent.

"Alright, Hermione, consider it my Christmas gift to you, okay? I won't give you anything on Christmas then. What color do you want? How about a rainbow color? It's eye-catching, although it might be a bit dazzling at night, it's still very beautiful. Or do you want it to change on its own?"

Seeing Bell already decided, Hermione could only accept it with joy. It was the first time she received a gift from a friend.

"Then... then I'll take brown-red, the color of my hair."

Hermione didn't dare to change its shape herself. After all, it was such a valuable thing; if she accidentally damaged it during transformation, what would she do? If Bell brought out a new one then, she would be truly embarrassed.

Bell carefully looked at Hermione's hair, then without even taking out his wand, the 'Personal Terminal' in his hand turned into brown-red, even gradient, very beautiful.

After comparing it carefully, Bell handed the 'Personal Terminal' to Hermione.

After receiving it, Hermione couldn't bear to put down the 'Personal Terminal' in her hand. She liked this color very much; it was even better and more beautiful than she expected.

"Thank you, Bell," Hermione said joyfully, "How do I use this?"

Bell took out his own 'Personal Terminal,' flipped it over, and pointed to a spot on the back, saying, "Here is where you can open it. Use magic like this... Yes, then take out the card inside, inject some magic into it, imagine you're casting a spell, and the card in your hand is your wand... Yes, slower... Good."

Following Bell's instructions, Hermione carefully took out a silver card from the 'Personal Terminal' and injected some magic into it. Then she saw some blue patterns appearing on the card.

Hermione carefully observed and found that the patterns on her card were different from those on Bell's card. She felt a little nervous, suspecting she might have made a mistake when injecting magic, and damaged the card.

"Now this card is bound to your magic. After putting it back, you can use it... Click here, and it will show your ID number. This is a set of numbers generated based on the fluctuation of your magic. Just give this number to others, and they can add you as a friend and send you messages. Then, the remaining magic is shown in the upper right corner. The 'Personal Terminal' can automatically absorb magic from the surrounding environment, but due to cost and practicality, this feature isn't strong. It can only sustain short-term use. If you want to use it continuously for a long time, you need to inject magic yourself. However, it doesn't consume much magic; just a little bit will last a long time."

Hermione, relieved internally, followed Bell's guidance once again while nodding in seeming understanding. Afterwards, Bell instructed Hermione on various functions of the 'Personal Terminal,' and they added each other as friends.

"This is amazing! The 'Personal Terminal' actually has so many functions!" Hermione increasingly liked the gift from Bell.

"Your family is really amazing, Bell, to be able to produce such a magical item."

"The wonders of magic far exceed your imagination, Hermione. You've only just touched the tip of the iceberg."

Hermione nodded vigorously, looking forward even more to magic and her future life as a young witch.

Shortly after Bell and Hermione became friends on their 'Personal Terminals,' the young wizards suddenly erupted into enthusiastic cheers. Bell looked up to see that the Quidditch players were entering the field.

Hermione quickly raised the prepared pennant and waved it vigorously. Poor little witch, she didn't know that Bell had set up a Displacement Barrier around them, so no matter how hard she waved, others wouldn't notice.

This year's first Quidditch match was between Gryffindor and Slytherin, two houses with a long-standing rivalry. The already anticipated fierce clash was heightened this year with the strong presence of Harry Potter, some of whose fans were already losing their voices from shouting too much.

Madam Hooch placed a box in the middle of the two teams, containing a Snitch, a Bludger, and a Golden Snitch.

The Golden Snitch would fly freely in the field, and the Seekers' task was to catch it. Only the Seekers could touch the Golden Snitch. When caught, the game would end, and the team catching the Golden Snitch would receive 150 points.

The Bludger served as a Quaffle, and the three Chasers were responsible for throwing it into the opponents' goal posts. Each side had three goal posts arranged parallelly but at slightly different heights, guarded by a Keeper.

The Snitch orbited around the players and would attack them to disrupt their game. The two Beaters' task was to protect their team's players from the Snitch's attacks and, at the same time, hit the Snitch towards the opponents' players to cause disruption.
