13 Chapter 13: Wizard King

In order to help Shanna memorize magical knowledge, Bell had been troubled for a long time, but finally came up with an excellent solution.

Today, Bell finally made preliminary preparations and would implement his plan for the first time tonight.

Although they spent a lot of time playing, the two of them were definitely much more diligent than most young wizards at Hogwarts. Bell believed that he and his sister would have enough strength to protect themselves when they entered school.

In order to help Shanna memorize spells, Bell often played some games related to magical knowledge with her when they were tired of playing, such as spell chaining.

"Levitation Charm."

"Wing-gar-dee-um Le-vee-oh-sar."

"It's 'Le-vee,'"

"It's 'Le-vee.'"

"Ah——! How can my sister be so cute!"

After dinner, after chatting with their parents for a while, Shanna quickly became sleepy.

After a simple wash, Shanna lay on the bed, looking at Bell sitting on the edge of the bed, looking expectant.

Every night before going to bed, Shanna would ask her brother to tell her bedtime stories, otherwise she wouldn't go to bed obediently.

Actually, Shanna didn't really want to hear stories. She wasn't interested in those old-fashioned fairy tales at all. Those stories could only fool young children, and she wasn't a one or two-year-old anymore. She had just turned three a few days ago!

Shanna just wanted her brother to accompany her, at least before she fell asleep, or she would feel very uneasy and have nightmares.

"Shanna, can Brother not tell you stories from 'Shakespeare's Fables' today? Brother has prepared a new and interesting story for Shanna."

Bell began to implement his plan.

"Okay! What story is it? Brother."

"Brother will tell you a story about the 'Wizard King' today."

Seeing the expectant look on little Shanna's face, Bell smiled. After clearing his throat, he began to tell the story he had prepared for months.

"It is said that in a very distant place from Earth, there is a vast continent. On this continent..."

"Brother! Brother! How far is very far?" Little Shanna interrupted her brother's words and asked curiously.

"..."

Bell felt that his new story plan might not go as smoothly as he had imagined. At least now he had a feeling of starting off on the wrong foot.

So how far is very far? Bell didn't know either! Think about it... Think about how those adults used to fool themselves when they were still kids!

"So-called 'very far' is as far as the stars in the sky."

"Oh~"

Little Shanna nodded, it seemed that it was really far. It's a pity, she wanted to have a chance to go and play on the continent her brother talked about.

"On that continent, there is a very, very large forest. It's much bigger than the country of England."

Seeing that the little girl wanted to ask again, Bell quickly made a comparison with a very large area known to Shanna.

"Oh~"

"The forest is very dangerous because there are many dangerous magical creatures living in it. But these dangerous magical creatures also represent valuable magical materials. So countless wizards, even knowing the danger, still explore the forest one after another."

"The closer to the center of the forest, the higher the danger. So, no one has ever survived to reach the center of the forest, and naturally no one knows what is in the center of the forest. But because the more dangerous magical creatures, the more valuable magical materials, people speculate that at the center of the forest, there is the most precious treasure in the world. And whoever gets that treasure can become the most powerful wizard in the world, the king of wizards."

"Of course, all of this is just speculation by the wizards, so although the wizards are curious about what is in the center of the forest, the vast majority of them can still restrain themselves."

"Until one day, everything changed! A powerful wizard—Gell Rogers, successfully passed through countless dangers and became the first to reach the center of the forest! But because he was too seriously injured on the way, he could no longer return to the outside of the forest. Rogers used his powerful magic to project his image above the center of the forest, so that everyone on this continent could see him, 'I am Gell Rogers, I think many people have heard of my name. Today, I, successfully reached the center of the forest and obtained the treasure at the center of the forest. But I am too seriously injured, so I am going to die. Do you want my treasure? Then come and get it! I have left everything here!' After saying his last words, Rogers died."

"Everyone was shocked by Rogers's words. They knew that the first king of the wizards on this continent was born. Although Rogers died soon afterwards, the wizards still respected him as the Wizard King."

"At the same time, everyone also knew one thing: there really is a powerful treasure at the center of the forest, and now it must be added with all the treasures Rogers collected throughout his life! The wizards were boiling with excitement, almost everyone started to explore the forest, eager to get Rogers's treasure and become the next Wizard King."

Shanna blinked and looked at her brother seriously. She didn't understand much, but she didn't want to say it out loud. What if her brother stopped telling her stories? So, whether she understood or not didn't matter. Even if her brother read the Bible to her, she would be willing to listen.

After setting the background, Bell finally prepared to get to the point.

"Ten years after Rogers died, no one had yet been able to reach the center of the forest again, but this did not dampen the wizards' enthusiasm, but made them even more eager for Rogers's treasure."

"One day, from a quiet little village far away from the forest, a young man named Mongie Hearo walked out. Hearo was an orphan who had been dependent on a sniff called 'Pippi' left by his parents since childhood. The life of an orphan made him eager to be recognized by others, so he set off on a journey to the great forest with Pippi. He wanted to become the Wizard King so that he could gain everyone's recognition."

Shanna began to be attracted by the story because she could understand it now. Although she felt that the name of that young man was strange, 'Hearo' and the like, it didn't sound like a decent person's name. But she was very interested in the sniff called 'Pippi'. She had seen pictures of the sniffs; they were a group of very cute little creatures.
