1 Aernar Gyn

In the continent of Ayr, one could take hold of any person and ask " Who is the most revered person in the world" and almost everytime, the answer would be "The legendary mage, Aernar Gyn" which would be followed by a long recounting of all the amazing and great deeds he had done for the people and the world. A person who did not know his name while living there would be questioned whether he had been living under the rocks.

Gyn did deserve this fame, considering how much he had done for the continent, from saving their live from the many dangerous monster that terrorized the continent to helping solve the pressure put on the common people by the aristocracy or stopping a foreign invasion, this united continent was in his debt.

Revered by the continent, worshipped by the people, and held in high esteem by the aristocrats, a very heroic perosn, to say the least.

This person who had committed such meritious deeds, and had fame all over Ayr, was currently sitting on a chair with a sour look on his face. Across him sat a graceful girl with a beautiful smile that matched her colourful outlook on life, and between them, a wooden table with crafting done carefully and glass on top

"I won two out of three!" She declared, standing up, decidedly ending a show down. Gyn looked at the cards that lay on the table between them, and regretted his decision of playing games with the ever so lucky Garcia Amel. "Please make sure to come to the ball party in good clothing tomorrow!!" She chirped as she subtly rubbed in the fact that he had lost the bet. Gyn just grunted, quite annoyed at his irrational decision. Sitting in his somewhat messily organized living room, with its quaint look and faded pastel colors, Garcia looked a bit out of place with her bright colors and happy looks. 'Why did I agree to this bet again?' Gyn thought, as Garcia gave her farewell and left, skipping away.

She had come earlier that day with a worried look on her face, so Gyn, being a good friend invited her in, in other words, she had forced her way into the house. Gyn begrudgedly listened to her problems as she *cried* about the upcoming ball party and not having anybody to deter the people trying to court her. Gyn had immediately refused, easily seeing through her intentions, but then Garcia taunted him by saying that he was just afraid of being marked as a lolicon by being seen with her, Gyn, enraged, agreed.

Note that Garcia was a proper 26 year old lady, and, with her looks blooming, was ready to be married, though it was also of considerarion that Gyn looked like a man two generations older than her.

Back to topic, in his anger, Gyn agreed to playing a best out of three with cards, without much thought. And so, we have the current situation before ourselves.

Gyn was, you could say, not exactly a social person, in long years of fruitless research, he had grown tired of human interaction, and rather preferred to work on his research to the next higher level, currently unachieved. He remembered, when he started out on his path to a legendary mage, when he had desperately established his mana path without any guidance in his body, and the mess he had created, almost dying many times, finally, after 65 years of hard work, he had secured his title as a genius, standing on a level that nobody had ever been able to reach, top tier even among his own level.

Then he remembered how he had enjoyed his life a bit, in a pretense, for about 37 years, before he finally realised that he was not happy at all, and dived into endless research.

Now, after many years, he was stuck. It was frustrating, but he also felt nostalgic. It had been a long time since he had felt alive, thriving in the face of an adversary.

Sitting on the chair, he looked around, the room was a bit too big for a person who was living alone, it had two tables, a coffee table, on which a stack of files was kept, and another bigger table, for the purposes of meetings and so, and where he was currently sitting. The room looked a bit dusty and old. There was also a bowl of snacks, which was something Garcia took out without permission, and was almost empty. There were also some decorations placed on an empty wall, secured by magic at their places, and Gyn felt a strand of desolation seep into his heart. It was quickly swept away.

He stood up.

"I should probably clean up, or I might get scolded by Argel if he decides to come by" he stretched a bit, casting a Wind Sweep to rid the room of dust. And as he decided to go back to his research, he noticed the cards still lying on the table.
