Coffee With Callum

'Hey, you wanna get coffee?' Callum texted me.

'Yeah! You need to tell me about this date!' I texted back.

'Alright, alright. I'm on my way.'

I quickly got dressed then got Diego and Freya, then Callum arrived. I opened the door and straight away he took Diego from me and cuddled him.

'Momma, dadda!' Jake giggled. Callum looked at me open mouthed.

'He said his first words yesterday and he hasn't stopped.' I put Freya on a leash and lead her to the car.

'Cal, could you grab the stroller and car seat.' I said while chucking him the keys. Freya hopped in the back and Callum came with Diego and his car seat. We drove to the cafe and found a little table. I was about to open my mouth to ask him about it but I noticed something.

'Whats that?' I giggled and pointed to his neck.

'What's what?' He took a bite out of his bacon sandwich. I reached over the table and pulled on the neckline of his shirt. It revealed dark purple bruises and deep red scratches all over his chest and shoulder. He blushed.

'Oh. That.' He looked at himself.

'Callum!' I giggled and sat back down, 'it was the first date!' I started feeding Diego.

'Yeah I know. It was just in the moment.' He sighed.

'Well do you wish you hadn't.' I asked. Diego took the spoon from me and ate himself.

'I- no...I really like this guy, Belle.' He ran his fingers through his hair and gave Freya slice of bacon.

'So it's fine then.' I asked.

'Yeah, but now I just can't imagine him or myself with anyone else. It just fills me up with...' He hesitated and buried his face in his hands.

'You- you love him.' I looked at him. He peaked through his fingers and stared at me. I noticed his ears tips turn red. Then he groaned and put his head on the table.

'Shut up...' He mumbled.

'Hey, it's okay.' I ruffled his hair. He sat up and stared at his sandwich. He put his hand in his jacket pocket and pulled out a fidget toy. 'You good?' I asked. He nodded.

'So you wanna here about the date?' He chuckled. So he told me everything not missing out a single detail.

'Awh, he called you cute?' I smiled.

'That's what you got from all of that?' He said as he finished the last bite of his sandwich. Diego threw his spoon at Callum and giggled.

'Momma, dadda.' He smiled.

'Oi, what was that for.' He chuckled.

'He's getting bored, you wanna go for a walk?' I asked pulling Diego out of the highchair.

'Sure.' He said while putting some money on the table. So we headed to the park and walked around for a while with Callum pushing Diego in the stroller and me walking Freya until we got back to the car.

'I had fun today, Belle.' He smiled as he was dropping me off.

'Me too.' I said. We hugged and he drove off down the road.
