SELFISH DESIRES

As the moonlight shone brighter, a couple seemed wrapped up in their own separate world oblivious to the commotion going on.

To them, the night seemed magical and there have never been a more peaceful and calm night in their hectic world.

The word calmness could not describe what they felt at that moment.

As the cool night breeze blew, the night sky was aglow with bright city lights and they looked up at the blanket of stars that stretched through infinity.

River Han twinkled the light from the moon and the whole atmosphere was filled with serenity as it casted a glow towards the couple in the terrace.

They have been there for over five minutes but no one seems to want to break the silence of the night. They simply stood and watched the bright view of the city while enjoying the silent company of the other.

"I never knew the party I dreaded so much will turn out like this" Dae finally spoke as he glanced at the elegant lady beside him.

"What was the purpose of this party anyways" Arin asked and looked at him with a questioning gaze.

Ara didn't tell her the purpose of the party so she assumed that their father didn't disclose the information to her. So far the party was going smoothly but she still couldn't figure out the purpose of it.

Her father had been here for a long time and as far as she knew, her father hated wasting his time on anything. She knew her father was still here due to the plan he had with Ara but still she couldn't help but wonder what this party was all about.

"Well, very soon I'll inherit my father's company" Daehyun sighed as she started. "My family wants me to settle down quickly and this party was held for me to choose a bride" he sighed.

Arin didn't know how to describe what she felt right now. She felt anguish wash through her heart and she couldn't hold it in. Her feet felt weakened all of a sudden and she had to hold his arm for support as she wobbled a little.

Dae held her by her waist to support her and he looked at her with a worried expression. Looking up at his eyes, she saw the concern in them and she felt a little bit guilty, it's not like he has chosen anyone yet, then why did she feel like she was going to die of an heart attack?

" Uhm....s.....so.... have you-have you chosen anyone yet" she stuttered as she tried to force the words out of her mouth.

"No" he replied calmly as he tried to study her behavior but she was quick to get her composure back as expected from a public figure. People like her had to always wear a smile on their face no matter what emotion they are facing. They would always keep a cool and calm expression no matter the situation whether they were sad, angry, sick or even in pains, they have to show inner peace.

Arin knew she would be selfish of she wants Dae not to get married and wait for her. It will only be a matter of time if his family start pressuring him to get married after all he was one of the most seeked out bachelor in the whole of Korea.

And looking at her career, she couldn't get married to him even though she loved him. It's not like she valued her career more than her life but again, it could be counted as selfishness if she puts her group at risk just because she decided to follow her heart instead.

If it was herself alone she would have done anything she wanted but looking at the situation, she didn't want to put the career of others at risk all because of her selfish desires.

Yes, she tagged this desire as selfish because she knew that she alone will be the only one benefiting from it. She didn't know about him yet, all she knew was that he cared for her and she couldn't classify that as love right?

She looked towards the moon as she tried to dry the tears that threatened to fall. She walked further from him towards the railing not to get away from him but to hide the pain she felt right now. She felt regret as to why she choose this career path and countless times she has questioned herself as to what blinded her towards this choice.

Daehyun walked up to her and placed his firm hands on her shoulder. His hands was cold and she flinched a little at his touch but didn't push his hands away. It felt comforting a little bit and she wanted it to last a little longer.

He placed his head on her shoulder and nuzzled it on her neck and he got a strong whiff of her scent. He knew what she was feeling so he wanted to comfort her and wipe away her fears. He spun her around to make her face him and he stared deeply at her amber bright eyes.

It was glistening with tears and he knew she was fighting hard to control it from falling. He didn't know what to tell her so he just studied her face. From her amber eyes to her small perfectly shaped nose till he finally settled on her red luscious alluring lips.

He felt his throat run dry as he couldn't take his eyes from her lips. He felt like it was calling onto him and he couldn't control his emotions as he wondered how it would taste. Why wonder when they are right in front of you, inviting you and without no restrictions.

And so he leaned in closer and the deep silent night was interrupted by the heavy beating of their hearts. He didn't know what but he felt that something was pulling him in and he couldn't control it.

Arin on the other was overwhelmed with different thoughts. She froze and she was as turgid as wood as her head wasn't functioning anymore. She didn't know what to do or even what to think right at the moment as her brain seemed to have taken a trip once again for the second time this night.

The gap between them finally disappeared as his lips finally came in contact with hers. Time seemed to stop for them and the both of them was engulfed in their whole world full of ecstacy. He felt as if her lips were the softest thing he has ever felt and trust me he never wanted to let go of them.

His hands on her shoulder found its way towards her head and he pulled her closer. The whole action seemed to give her a slight shock and she gasped. Finding this as an opportunity, he slipped his tongue inside her mouth and that's where his mind went out of control.

He found her tongue as he deepened the kiss and kissed her slowly as if savouring the taste of her mouth. She seemed to be a novice at first but soon caught up with his movements and she couldn't be more delighted. She felt a deep feeling building up inside her and she couldn't describe what she felt at the moment.

It felt pleasurable at the moment but somehow she still felt guilty because she knew her earlier thoughts will always be the harsh reality.

She pushed those thoughts at the back of her head and simply just let herself get lost in this magical moment.

Their sweet and peaceful moment was finally interrupted with the loud beeping of a phone and they got separated. They stood motionless as they tried to get air into their lungs and thank God for the phone, who knew if she would have passed out if he went any longer.

Dae stared at his phone with a confused expression as he read what was written on the screen. "Someone was attacked" he announced and Arin felt her heart skipped. No, it couldn't be Ara right? she thought.

"Who was it?" she asked with worry written all over her face.

"The daughter of Lee Seulki, Lee Kiaraa" and she gasped with her hands covering her mouth when he finally revealed.

"Oh my God, Ara" she exclaimed and ran towards the door.

The whole activity a few moments ago seemed to have gotten to the back of her head as she feared for her sister's life.
