I WON'T LET YOU LIVE PEACEFULLY

As the luxurious party went on, two majestic figures observed the whole scenery from a secluded room. The room was not visible from the ballroom but all the activities going on didn't go unnoticed by them.

One of them in a black tuxedo, quietly leaned against a chair with legs crossed and a glass of red wine in his hands. His silver glowing hair was gelled backward and it gave him a deadly aura as he threw empty gazes across the ballroom with those piercing silver cold and snowy eyes.

He seemed exhausted with the two top buttons of his shirt left undone. Despite the feeling of tiredness, he couldn't look any less intimidating. He exuded a deadly vibe despite his young age and there was no hint of immaturity in his expressions.

"Adrian she's here," the other figure with a polar opposite expression to the ice god announced. He walked towards the table and sat in a chair opposite the young god-like figure.

He uttered a silent "hmmm" and stared at the wine in his hands again as he stirred it gently.

His companion looked at him and smirked.

Jang Daehyun, the young heir of the Jang family could be passed off as a male model. He had striking and astonishing looks with his hair as black as midnight with light brown eyes. He had a tall lean build with a perfectly sculptured face and toned abs.

Unlike his ice king friend, he was emanating a different aura. Similar to his friend, his expression was cool but not as freezing as the ice king. He looked calm and gentle and looked like he had a warm personality.

"She looks stunning Adrian, I might ask her for a dance," he said and glanced at his friend with a sinister smile to see if there would be any change of emotions but there was nothing.

The cool figure still had a bored expression written all over his face.

"hmmm," he nodded slightly. "By the way, Arin is here," Adrian muttered again.

"What!!!" Dae exclaimed, "What do you mean Arin is here?" he asked as he turned around and his breathing hitched.

From the dim lights in the ballroom, he could see an alluring figure with a black floor-length mermaid gown. As she walked, the delicate fabric clung to her body, falling to the floor and splashing like a cascade of black ocean. She was adorned with gold pieces of jewelry with a gold mask.

Despite the heavy makeup and mask, he could still tell it was her. When had he last seen her? he couldn't even recall. They've both been busy with their clouded schedules that communication between them dropped drastically and they soon turned into mere strangers.

But tonight, she turned up at his party looking as stunning as always and he couldn't control his emotions. He knew she must be here for him and that's why she came.

Recently, he had been so busy with his father's company that he didn't have the leisure to go through her activities. He felt delighted to finally see her again.

Arin was his childhood sweetheart and he couldn't deny that he missed her badly and all he had in his head was to hug her tightly and shield her from the prying eyes of those hungry-looking men.

"Nothing is going to happen if you keep staring at her Dae," Adrian said as a matter of fact.

Daehyun came out from his daydream with that statement and quickly agreed with his friend. Tonight, he was going to get his love back no matter what. He took his mask and walked towards the door without sparing Adrian a last glance.

'What a friend' Adrian wondered, 'He forgot about me as soon as he saw his sweetheart' he scoffed.

The ballroom was filled with so much laughter and liveliness but lately, Kiaraa wasn't feeling any of it.

Her mind was clouded with thoughts and it was as if the whole place became blurry right before her very eyes but she still kept alert.

She took a peek at her father who was discussing with some men around his age and glanced around the ballroom to look for her sister but couldn't see her.

'I should be worried, but who am I kidding? She's Lee Arin she can take care of herself and I don't need to worry about her.'

Despite her clouded mind, she still had to be on alert as anything could happen at any time. Who knows what could happen when you are shrouded by a pack of hungry wolves who keeps staring at her like she was the only prey alive on earth.

She didn't know when a tall figure walked up to her and stretched his hands forward indicating a dance. She took his hands without hesitation, God knows why but there's nothing wrong in having a dance right?

The tall figure guided her to the dance floor and they started waltzing.

They danced for five minutes but no one uttered a word to the other. She didn't even spare him a glance or looked at his face. What was the point anyway when he was covering his face with a mask.

"Young lady, you seem lost," he finally broke the silence and that's when Kiaraa looked up at him.

Behind those masks, she could make out that he had tanned skin with plump pink lips. she knew he would be very handsome with his auburn hair brushed sideways and striking blue eyes.

"I'm sorry," she muttered apologetically.

"No need to apologize Lee Kiaraa," he said her name and she looked at him with a shocked expression but it soon turned calm when she realized that her father had introduced her to a few of his friends. Maybe he is the son of one of them. She thought.

"I'm sorry, you are?" She asked quite confused.

"Oh my apologies, Miss Lee I'm Lin Dari but you can call me Dari," he introduced himself confidently and Kiaraa nodded absentmindedly.

"As I said before, you seem lost," he said again and she couldn't find the right words to reply.

"Seems like it's your first time in a social gathering like this but you'll get used to it anyways. Now I know why your father never revealed about you," he stated.

"Why?" She looked up at him and tilted her head sideways a little.

"Because your beauty is so astonishing that he didn't want men to ogle at you," he joked and flashed a nice smile.

Kiaraa giggled a little as she felt a little bit relaxed. If only he knew the reason why her father kept her hidden, then he wouldn't have uttered those words.

"Thank you," she muttered slightly with a gentle smile.

"My pleasure young miss," he returned the smile.

For now, the whole party seems to be going on smoothly aside from the deathly glares she have been getting from almost all the ladies.

'Come on, they can't even see my face properly I wonder if my mask was invisible in their eyes.'

That didn't mean that she could keep her guard down and to make matters worse they didn't bring any bodyguards as it would seem like an insult to the host.

'By the way, where the hell is my father? Isn't he supposed to watch over me in case anyone tries to do anything reckless this night?Only God knows why my father is throwing me into a deep-sea full of sharks.'

And just like that the small feeling of relaxation that she had a while ago vanished into thin air and the anxiety came rushing back.

This is going to be a long night, she thought.

She looked at Dari again and excused herself as her feet were beginning to hurt a little and he understood.

She walked towards the washroom but she felt a pair of eyes following her from behind. She hastened her steps and prepared herself mentally for any attack.

'Way to go father, putting your daughter as the center of attention while you're having fun with your friends. If I die

tonight, I won't let you live peacefully.' She promised her father inwardly.

I'm having mixed feelings while writing because firstly I just got my report card and I topped my class as usual, I'm so happy about that but I'm sad because schools will be opening by 2nd of May. I wonder how I can keep up with school and still update every day but still, I'll try.

And I read my last chapters and found some silly mistakes and I'm so sorry dear readers. Grammatical error is completely normal in this case as I'm not even studying arts, I'm studying science but I'll fix it, ok?
