Chapter 5

RD

I pull out my shoes and fall onto the bed, sinking into the soft mattress.

I'm actually pretty happy with the room that I have chosen. Downstairs, King size bed, medium size room, white marble tiles, as well as white cupboards, and a white curtain.

I lie down, staring at the ceiling before I hear my room door creak open.

"What did I tell you about knocking?" I grunt.

"Nothing. Nothing at all," A female voice answers.

I wake up, surprised, and I stare as she stalks towards me, her hands in her black leather jacket.

She sits next to me on the bed and I raise my eyebrow in confusion. "Your room is upstairs. What are you doing in mine?"

"Just here to talk. I mean, I will be working with all of you, so I need to know who I'm working with."

I smile. "You could just ask Grayson. You guys have a past together. Sure he'd help you out."

She chuckles. "I'm pretty sure he wouldn't," she lies down on her back before her gaze meets mine. "What's your full name? I already know your first name is Ryker."

"RD," I answer back while keeping a far distance from her.

"RD? That's not your full name is it?"

"You will just know it as RD. That's a full name to you," I retort.

I know she's trouble and I'd do anything to stay a safe distance away from her.

"So, RD. If RD is your full name, what's your nickname, R? Who names their kid RD anyway? Dumb name," she mocks.

It takes me a while to come up with a comeback. "What about your name? Scarlett? What's your nickname, Scar?"

She laughs at my sarcasm but doesn't seem to be annoyed.

Strange, isn't it?

"The truth is, I feel more connected to you than any of the other guys. Besides, you broke the tv. What do you expect me to do in my free time?" She sits up and nudges my arm. "Thought, I'd make a friend."

I give it a long thought. Even if I don't tell her, she'll get her information from somewhere else.

"My full name is Ryker Dawson. Call me RD," I answer.

She smiles and shakes my hand. "My name's Scarlett. I'm not going to kill you. You're not my mission."

I smile at her before she waves goodbye and exits my room.

So, she does have a soft side. I'm sure that's the side Grayson fell in love with.

Grayson

I ask RD to dig in to get some more information on Adriano Rossi.

He taps on the keypad before a picture fills the screen of the laptop.

"So, It was Adriano Rossi who hired you guys to kill Casey."

I roll my eyes at Scarlett. Wasn't that obvious enough?

"Who's that guy beside him?," I point at the bold guy. "Can you zoom in on him?"

RD smiles. "Got it."

"What's his name?" Scarlett asks while folding her hands.

"Let me search the system," RD does a little more tapping before stopping.

"Maximo Valentino. His current location is in France, Paris."

"He will have information on who has the White diamond," Ash replies while leaning against his chair.

I smirk. "Guess we're going to Paris."

The night is silent before my sneezes echo in the room. What the hell? Another sneeze after another. I then feel something tug at my pants. My eyes widen and I hesitate before pulling out the blanket.

Weird thoughts run through my mind, and when I say weird...trust me, you don't want to know. But there, resting at my side is Scarlett's rat. I sneeze again, my body becomes itchy and my eyes start to get flooded with tears.

I wake up and run out of my room, yelling for Scarlett. "Scarlett, Y-your rat is in my bed!" but just when I thought that she would come up to take it away, she doesn't.

It's silent except for my shouting echoing throughout the house. I turn around, seeing that the dog is cuddled up in my bed. "Go away. This is my bed," I whisper-yell but it doesn't move, so I make a mental note to get get rid of that dog by the end of the night before opening Asher's room door.

As I know, Ash doesn't fall asleep so early so I shrug my shoulders and give him a blank expression. "Dude, move aside. I need to sleep with you tonight."

He raises his eyebrows. "Are you fucking serious?"

"Yes, I'm fucking serious," I whisper before jumping in bed and pushing him aside. I turn to my right and cover myself with the blanket.

There's no way in hell am I sleeping with Copper or whatever that dog's name is.
