20 Taunting Criminals

The journey to the ocean took half a day. The constant ascents and descents of the mountains were not good for the health of the injured, poor turtle. Sometimes he just sat in the gorge and tasted the rainforest. He was bored, so he found a new game in eating fruit trees that he had never seen before. Unfortunately, he did not taste the fruit. They were too small for him. Obviously, he, without realizing it, was eating stress.

"I would never have thought that I could be robbed. It's such an unpleasant feeling," he thought, standing on the shore of the ocean. The view of the ocean was very beautiful. He didn't have enough cool drinks right now (well, of course he wanted a drink after chewing on the leaves of the trees).

Plunging into the ocean, Gamera expected his usual adventures, but this time he came across something new. As he slowly floated across the endless ocean, he rested and enjoyed himself as much as he could. He didn't think about the direction of travel or about training, all he wanted was rest. The next attack wouldn't happen soon, so he rested as much as he could.

After spending several days in the ocean, his internal organs played strangely with him. He had never felt anything like this. It felt as if his organs were telling him that they wanted something and when he gave it to them, only then would they calm down.

Wasting no time, he dived into the ocean in search of the source of his desires. He sank deeper and deeper, the light fading, giving way to the darkness that enveloped the ocean floor in its embrace. After some time, the bottom of the ocean appeared. At first glance, it was ordinary, but after swimming there, he came across a fault in the ground. This fault was quite wide and deep. Crouching in it, Gamera continued to descend. The sensation grew stronger with each passing second until he reached the bottom.

Here he found what he was looking for. Many canisters with radiation logo. They were scattered along the bottom of the fault. Some were even cracked and some substance was leaking from them. It is obvious that these were radioactive substances.

"What kind of fool thought of dumping it here?" Despite his outrage, Gamera could feel his body reacting to the radiation. This makes sense. Titans from the Monster universe fed on radiation. Thinking back to Mutos, somehow he found a nuclear power plant in Japan and made his nest there. During his time there, he absorbed all the radiation in the region. He didn't even need to eat radioactive materials, he just sat there in his cocoon.

Another example was Godzilla himself. It absorbed radiation from nuclear explosions and became more powerful and larger. Mutos spent years absorbing the radiation (though he more likely just grew up there) and Godzilla absorbed the radiation instantly. No one knows how it works. Until today, it was only a scriptwriter's fantasy.

In an instant, the depression of missing lunch was lifted. Gamera was surprised and happy. This supernatural property of his body gave him another way to develop. Now he could become even stronger without fighting or putting his life in danger. This fantastic, completely unscientific and absurd ability will easily replace the loss of Kaiju.

Just being in this terrible, but useful place for him, he could feel his body being saturated with energy. This improvement was noticeable, but not excessive. He needs time to absorb everything. He didn't want to eat it, but he hoped that just being there would be enough. If necessary, he will remain here until the next attack.

With a smile on his face, he cleared a spot in the middle of the dump and laid down there. He thought he even purred like a cat as the radiation beams bombarded his body. In a word - absurd. But that suited him. Finally he was lucky. After some time he fell asleep peacefully.

---

"Ouch!" Gamera woke up because something hit him. Before he could raise his head, something fell on his head again. "Who dared?" He thought indignantly. Canisters with new waste were constantly falling on him. "Wait a second and I'll get to you." With slight irritation and some inexplicable joy, Gamera began to rise to the surface.

When he saw a ship above him about to sail away, he decided to play with it. Gamera didn't think that if he scared these scoundrels, he would lose his source of power. He was just having fun and wanted to scare them. They will not be able to run from the law for a long time, because warships have always sailed near Gamera. And any accident will immediately attract their attention.

Carefully swimming up to the ship, he caught it with one hand, preventing them from sailing forward. The ship began to struggle, its engines working at full power, but the ship did not move anywhere.

"Now I will show you how to pollute nature!" grinning evilly, Gamera thought of how best to scare these people.

POV: Criminals

It was easy money for the captain of the ship. Just a few more swims and he could retire 30 years early. "Hehe!" soft laughter echoed on the bridge as the captain dreamed of endless entertainment. "Did you say something?" asked the helmsman. "No, no. It's okay. Stay the course."

Boom!

In an instant the ship stopped. By inertia, all the people on the ship fell to the ground. Someone fell over the tables, and someone hit the windows with their nose (captain). The bewildered sailors got up and ran to the front of the ship to find out what they had bumped into, but there was nothing there. An ordinary ocean. Everything was fine no matter which side of the ship they were looking at. "Helmsman! Give more power!" commanded the captain.

Helmsman obeyed and pushed the lever forward. The engines roared, and the water behind the ship splashed violently, but the ship remained in place. "What's going on?! It's like we sat on a reef in the middle of the ocean!" The captain did not want to stay here for long. When you're doing something illegal, you have to move fast, and any delay increases the chances of getting caught. If they are caught, it will be easy to find out what they are doing. There is a lot of hidden equipment on the ship.

"You! Brand new! Put on your gear and dive in, look what we got caught!" shouted the captain in anger.

"But sir, we just dumped radioactive waste in there. I don't want to dive," says the newbie. He didn't like the whole thing. He needed the money, and he had a whole story of how he got here. Therefore, he was not going to risk his life. "This is the captain's business, so let him climb there himself," thought the newcomer.

CREAK! Boom! CREAK!

A strong shock knocked the crew off their feet for the second time. Recovering, the captain approached the source of the noise and looked overboard. "Where are our screws?" There was nothing in the city of screws. The flow of water stopped and all that could be heard was the engine spinning in vain, having lost contact with the propellers.

"Three thousand devils! What's going on here?" The sailors began to sweat from fear. Memories of underwater monsters destroying cities appeared in their heads. Although there had been no reports of Kaiju attacking a ship in the middle of the ocean, that didn't mean they wouldn't be the first.

"Captain! There are no screws! We need to call for help!" frightened sailors called the captain. "Do you want to spend the rest of your life in prison?" answered the captain. "And what? Better to die?"

"Drop all equipment!" shouted the mate. He was also scared and wanted to call for help, but he didn't want to go to jail either. If they sweep away all the evidence, then they can get out of the water dry.

"Don't touch my equipment! I paid a fortune for it!" shouted the captain, going to his cabin to get his gun.

"Catch him, he wants to take a weapon!" There was a fight and shouting on the ship. A few minutes later, the captain was lying on the floor, bound and beaten.

"This is a mutiny! I'll put this on your personal files, you'll never get a job again! I've got friends! Connections! Money! I'll bury you all!"

"Shut up!" said the helmsman, taping the captain's mouth shut.

Boom!

At that moment, the ship shuddered once more. "I'll call for help!" the helmsman shouted and ran to the bridge to the walkie-talkie. Everyone has already forgotten about throwing the equipment into the ocean.

"Look! The ocean is boiling!" the frightened sailors came up to look. The water around their ship began to steam, and after a minute it boiled. After another moment, black smoke began to rise from the ocean.

"What's going on here? Is this a volcanic eruption?" A moment later, all the water around the ship began to burn. The horizon could not be seen from the flames and smoke. The whole environment turned from cool to hot. It was mesmerizing and frightening. The water is boiling and burning, and their ship cannot move in the middle of this hell.

"We will die here! There was no need to dump radioactive waste into the ocean. This is our punishment!" One of the sailors began to cry out of fear. No one answered him because the rest of the crew had the same thoughts.

The sailors became so hot that it became difficult for them to breathe. The captain, who was lying bound on the ground, began to scream with his mouth taped shut. The metal ship heated up, and it burned his face.

Suddenly, the water began to rise and part, revealing the head of a large monster emerging from the water and fire. The face of the monster was black and evil. Sharp teeth protruded from the mouth. With his evil gaze, the monster looked at the soul of every sailor who had sinned against him. From fear and suffocation, some sailors fainted, falling powerlessly to the floor.

A moment later, the creature towered over the ship. Looking down at the worthless creatures in front of him, he gasped for air and growled.

ROOOOOAAAAAAARRRRR!

The loud cry of the beast echoed over the ocean. The sailors were deafened by the force of the shout. But what scared them even more was that during the scream, hellfire burned in the middle of the monster's mouth, and black smoke rose to the sky. This sight will leave them scarred for life. They will never go to the ocean again. They will never even eat fish again.

POV: Gamera

Having finished scaring these scoundrels, he slowly sank into the ocean. A cheerful smile was on his face. The job was well done, in the best horror movie style. So it seemed to him.

After a while, the ocean calmed down, leaving the lone ship covered in soot. He left the rest affairs to the warships whose engines he heard under the water. Having sunk to the bottom, he took his previous comfortable position and fell asleep.
