Successful Liftoff

POV: General

"Secretly copy all the research! Follow him!"

"This was to be expected. If people started to create animals, nave-titans, then they will change people too. I'm just surprised that Dr. Newton is doing this. This obsessed traitor is doomed. In the original story, he became the main reason for the second Kaiju invasion.

It seems that he likes everything extraordinary too much. I'm sure he'll be the first half-titan. It is simply not possible for him to give such an honor to someone else. Maybe he won't betray humanity this time, because my existence is as amazing as the Kaiju, but you can expect anything from such people.'

Torterra was sitting on his island after returning from South America. Upon his return, he was surprised to find a new jetpack ready for space flight. Another block was added to it, the same size as it itself. These were new satellites and a lunar station that he was supposed to deliver to the moon.

We still have to wait a few days before going into space, so Torterra just sat there idly, staring at the ocean.

Ruby did not wait for him and swam to Africa to meet other turtles. She seems to be independent enough not to fear the remnants of the White Thorns. She absorbed a lot of radiation and was now the largest of the half-titans.

Yun also flew to Africa. She was afraid to float there on Ruby's head. If they get caught in a storm then Yun would get hurt. That is why she agreed to fly there. She would have no problem finding Ruby because Ruby had a GPS. She wanted to make a video report about the meeting of half-titans.

As he sat on the island waiting, Torterra thought about his impact on the world. This message from the Marshal made him think about it.

'The world did handle the invasion better, but those White Thorns did a lot of damage. Was it my actions that caused this disaster?' Torterra couldn't help but frown. He didn't want to think about the people who had been killed by the White Thorns.

'But on the other hand, what have I done? With these half-titans and now mutant people may appear soon, the world will change even more. Maybe even in the future they will change the world more than I did.

All I did was fight Kaiju. Even the influence on nature does not depend on my will. So who changed this world more? Me, as a person, or just my existence as an anomaly?

It seems that I was not the main catalyst for change, but the blood of my body. It turns out that this body was a gift to this world more than I am. But on the other hand, it was my actions that made it possible to realize this potential. If Godzilla appeared in the world of Pacific Rim, he would just fight Kaiju and destroy cities without caring about people. But what would he do if the Kaiju came out of the portal by the thousands? He would simply hide in the ground.

Without cooperation with people, it is impossible to win. Not with the strength that I had and even that I have now.'

Eeehhh

Torterra exhaled heavily after his thoughts. Again and again he came to the same conclusion. He needed weapons and human intelligence to help him in this endeavour.

"Sorry! We need to do a briefing so you know what to do during the flight."

A man in glasses approached him and called him in an uncertain voice. Torterra turned and looked at him. The man's face changed. He was afraid to speak.

"It's long?" asked Torterra.

"You need to know what to do during the flight and learn how to work with your device in your hand. I think you need to learn everything about it thoroughly in these two days."

"It looks like I won't be able to take a nap. Ehhh"

Two days later, Marshall arrived on the island. Almost everyone Torterra knew was with him. Brothers Raleigh, Mako Mori, Hermann Gottlieb (mathematician) and even Dr. Smith flew in from Britain. Mr. Smith and I were looking for sunken treasures, and I was surprised to see him. He got permission to visit me.

People here were worried because flying into space is a dangerous business. Even Yun came back from Africa. On the new planes, you could ride here and there quite quickly. She showed me a video of Ruby and her new family. She was twice the size of the others and they quickly began to look to her for protection against clones and demi-titans.

Ruby, noticing how difficult it is for them to live in Africa, immediately took them to the Marshall Islands. They have now crossed the Pacific Ocean together. We will probably soon have many huge turtles living on islands in the ocean.

Torterra was not the only one preparing for future events. This event gained world importance because this flight should end in a huge disaster for Antarctica. No one knew what the consequences of this event would be, but there was no choice - it had to be done.

Almost everyone in the governments of all countries knew about this event. This information had some secret status and the public did not know about it. If the witches find out about their intentions, then the Kaiju will simply flee from Antarctica. Ordinary people find out about it only at the last moment. The governments of all countries are secretly preparing an evacuation plan from coastal areas in case of a tsunami.

Everyone was ready. People prepared for the flight for a very long time. Torterra was now putting on his jet pack as he stood in the courtyard of his island. On his back was a jetpack, and several more blocks with cargo were attached to it. The weight of it all was great enough that he had to lean forward to keep from falling on his back.

There were no people on the island. Everyone was waiting on ships very far from here. This was done both for their protection and to prevent intruders from entering the island.

"Are you ready?"

Torterra's communicator received a message from the Marshal.

"So." Titan answered. He wrote messages with his claw, slowly pressing the buttons.

"While you are on the moon, the new satellites will make a map of the blue toxin and only after that we will decide what to do next. If the White Thorns have moved their nest then we cannot use this plan."

"Ok" he answered briefly.

'If they have moved their nest then it will be even easier to destroy them. It will be easier to penetrate the depths of the ocean than through kilometer-long layers of ice.' Torterra thought.

Everything was ready for launch. The sky was clear of clouds and the pleasant morning sun warmed the earth. This launch will be one of a kind. Later, people will use special rockets to fly into space. Now they are not ready yet. This flight will go down in the history of the planet.

"10... 9... 8..."

The countdown began and everyone held their breath in anticipation.

"2… 1… Launch!"

Torterra turned on the jet engine.

BBBRRRR

The engine exploded with a loud sound and a blue, concentrated fire erupted from it. Smoke immediately filled the island. Torterra stood motionless. He slowly increased the power of the engines, proceeding cautiously. After a few seconds, his legs began to lift off the ground.

BBRRRRRR

He flew away. Flew vertically upwards with every second gaining speed. He spread his arms to the sides trying to stabilize the flight. Due to the fact that the shape of Torterra and the jet pack was not smooth and streamlined, he was shaking very much. Putting their hands out to the sides, they acted like wings on an airplane, stabilizing its flight. Without it, he would have lost his way. He directed his trajectory constantly fighting against air friction.

There was no flight control system in the jet pack. He only moved forward. This allowed people to create a powerful and reliable structure capable of withstanding such weight. Torterra handled all navigation matters.

"Successful liftoff" A voice rang out on all the ships sailing around the island and on the televisions of the people watching this flight.
