121 Strange Space

"Yes! Nice!" Shouts of joy and clapping were heard everywhere. People who participated in this project were happy. They watched as Torterra rose very quickly above the clouds and continued to climb.

"10,000 kilometers per hour!" The speed was incredible.

"15,000" The higher Torterra flew, the less oxygen there was and his speed increased.

"25,000" He began to break out of the atmosphere. The boundless space of space opened before his face.

"30,000 kilometers per hour."

The sound of the jetpack's engine died down until it stopped completely. Only his inner ear told him of the activity of the device on his back.

"Achieving orbit"

POV: Torterra

Stepping out into outer space, strong sunlight hit my eyes. I had to close my eyes from the pain. The skin on the sunny side warmed up, and on the other side it was very cold. Such a contrast was unbearable. Especially the cold.

My body temperature in the shade quickly dropped to -150 degrees C (-238 F) and kept falling. This caused my skin to freeze, and this cold slowly made its way to my internal organs.

This cold was unbearable, so I decided to warm myself from the inside. Focusing my energy, I channeled enough of it to keep myself warm and not damage the jet pack.

Being heated to 200 degrees C was more pleasant for me. The sun didn't feel like much at all when my body got hot.

The fact that I was in a vacuum didn't really bother me. But the eyes suffered the most. They really hurt. I had to come up with some glasses for myself, because the light, temperature and pressure - all this led to the fact that my eyes started to hurt a lot. I had to close my eyes to reduce the strain and even close my eyes completely to rest them.

BRRR

I felt a vibration from my communicator and looked at it. Since there is no sound in a vacuum, people have taught the communicator to vibrate.

Glancing at the device on my hand, I noticed a hologram of a compass needle projecting from the edge of the monitor. This hologram was similar to Mr. Choi's work monitor. Since I was in 3D space, I needed a 3D pointer for direction.

'35,000 km per hour! Damn it! How many times have I exceeded the speed of sound?' I thought as I saw the speed displayed on the monitor.

The arrow of my "compass" pointed in the direction of open space. Everything was explained to me at the briefing, so I was not surprised. I have to fly not to the moon, but to the point where the moon will be in the future. Now I saw the moon to my right. He will make a revolution around the earth, and then I will meet him.

I had 384,000 km to fly (actually more given the various parabolic motions) and I wanted to cover that distance in one day.

But first I had to drop the load a little further. An hour into the flight I felt another message. Everything was automated so I just turned the engine off and waited.

PPSHSHS

In my inner ear I heard a hissing sound and a small explosion as the cargo detached from the jetpack. Several huge blocks quickly detached from the jet pack and flew away from me. Each block of a rectangular, futuristic shape had its own engine, and as soon as they flew away, these engines started and the satellites flew to take their place around the planet.

'One thing is done.' There was still one block on my back. It was a lunar station.

'While the engines are off, let's try to fly by ourselves!' I wanted to see if I could travel through space without the help of a jet engine.

I first concentrated the energy in my chest, and then began to direct it to my tail. Slowly the energy descended, illuminating my spikes and skin with an orange light and when it reached my tail, I gently released the energy.

A thin and long beam of light shot out from the tail, and this beam flew very far. Fortunately, I pointed the tail into space, otherwise it could have reached the ground.

The jolt the shot gave me immediately spun me around in space. It was so strange, I was spinning very fast, but I had the feeling that I was standing still and the earth was spinning around me.

"What are you doing? Why don't you fly further and why do you turn around? Something happened?"

A question came to the communicator. I looked at him and calmly read the message while the earth continued to spin around me at breakneck speed. On earth, they worried about me...

I tried to release energy from my tail again, but this time it was very slow and released very little energy.

After a while, a fire several kilometers long came out of my tail. The fire coming out of the tip turned into balls of light that flew in different directions and disappeared into the vacuum.

I pointed my tail in the opposite direction of the Earth's rotation and slowly the Earth began to stop. When the Earth completely stopped rotating, I pointed my tail at it and flew in the direction of separation from it. I desperately hoped that I was flying.

Even though I was flying at a speed of 35,000 km/h, I felt like I was standing still. Space is strange. Only the fact that my speed had increased to 36,000 on the monitor told me that I was still moving forward.

I moved in space with a straight tail, from which a thin jet of fire came out. I felt that I could accelerate and I did so by increasing the power of my fire on the tail.

"Says Marshal. It's good that you can move yourself in space, but you need to use up the fuel in the jetpack. When returning to Earth, it must have a minimum amount of fuel."

Marshal texted me. But I could not lose this opportunity.

"I'll take one extra spin around the moon if I have to." I answered him.

I wanted to learn how to fly in space on an intuitive level and test my maximum speed. To do this, I began to spin around, taking the Earth as a guide. I could hardly see the stars because of the brightness of the sun, so my only reference was the earth and the sun, which really annoyed me.

After an hour of experimentation, I learned to move smoothly without sharp turns. My smooth rotations in space resembled underwater swimming. I noticed that even when I channeled the energy into my hands and they started to glow, it also gave me a boost. Using my hands, I could better control the direction of movement.

But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't feel myself moving. Only increasing or decreasing power gave me any sense of acceleration. As soon as I stopped doing that, I stopped in space. I just froze. It was strange.

Traffic stopped. There were no sounds. I couldn't tell where the bottom was from the top, and my thoughts were louder than the sound of my heart beating.

When I got tired of standing still, I decided to go for everything I had. Turning my head in the direction of the legs, I fired a fire. Golden fire came out of my mouth and turned into a bright beam that was hundreds of kilometers long.

This shot immediately gave me an unheard of acceleration. At first it was difficult for me to keep the ground in one position before my eyes, but with the help of my tail and hands I corrected my course after a while.

"40,000… 45,000…50,000…" My communicator buzzed as my speed increased.

"100,000"

"Stop! So you will pass the point of meeting with the moon!"

'I think we can stop here.' The way I flew was funny and reminded me of Godzilla from the old movies where he flew through the sky shooting his blue fire at his feet. But this method actually only works in space.

At this speed, I finally noticed that I was moving. I noticed that the ground was moving away from me. However, when I stopped firing, my acceleration stopped and I instantly lost the feeling of flight.

'Eh…' I breathed out in my mind. I had to slow myself down. Otherwise, I will really miss the lunar orbit.
