15 Reflections on War with Aliens

Now I can only stay relatively close to shore. Thanks to the power of my nose, I can tell which way the shore is, but it doesn't always work well, the smell is greatly affected by wind direction and distance. Therefore, my sense of smell cannot be relied on all the time. For now, this is my only means of navigation.

Sensing the presence of other monsters, like Kaiju, cannot be called a navigational tool. It points in the direction of a moving target, and I didn't feel it until it was close to shore. It can be assumed that at long distance it does not work.

After swimming for a while on the bottom of the ocean, I thought about everything I had to do. For now, I decided to do a banal workout. I didn't want to be watched, so I was alert.

It is quite difficult to find any rock of suitable size. Basically, everything on the bottom of the ocean is covered with mud and small stones. Either it is a pile of brittle stones or it is silt. I wanted to find some solid rock, at least 50 meters in size. I could lift such a stone and push it across the ocean floor. It would be heavy enough to strain my muscles.

After a while, Gamera found something that looked like it was underground. It looked like the stone he was looking for, but it was buried in the mud. He spent a lot of time digging it out. It also required fist and claw work to pry it from the bottom. Gamera tried to damage this stone with his claws, scraping it. His claws didn't affect him much, the most he could do was leave shallow scratches. How could one think that bone could be stronger than granite?

Pulling out this stone, he began to push it along the bottom of the ocean, leaving a deep chasm in his path. Sometimes he would pick him up and push him from side to side. Such training was very useful. He had to fight against tough and big opponents. If he can scatter them with just his physical strength, it would look quite spectacular.

"Can I stop these Kaiju attacks altogether? Just tell people how to do it and be done with it." This idea sounded very attractive. And while Gamera was training, he could think about it well.

Humanity encountered another intelligent race that was much more advanced. Physics, chemistry, biology - in all sciences they were ahead of humanity by many centuries. Is it even possible to invent portals to other dimensions? Perhaps they preceded humanity by many millennia. Only this portal saves people from complete destruction. If the aliens open many portals around the world and simultaneously fill the earth with hordes of giant 200-meter-tall, armored creatures, nothing will be left of humanity.

"I don't understand why they opened only one portal and they still have some kind of limit on the weight of the Kaiju they can send through this portal," Gamera continued to think, raising the stone on his shoulders with a shout.

Perhaps they are limited by the power source or some other resources. Perhaps this technology is not yet developed to such an extent. Many questions arise when you remember the events of the second part of the film. With the help of a traitor-biologist, the aliens made a fusion between the Kaiju and the Hunters. But that's not surprising. It was amazing to see them open a portal to an alien dimension and summon the Kaiju. Why didn't they open the portal on their side? Perhaps their device that controlled the portals was destroyed by a nuclear explosion? Yes, that makes sense, but was it really easier for them to build portals on earth with human technology than to rebuild the ones already destroyed on their planet?

Many questions, but no answers. We can only make guesses. Without intelligence, it is very difficult to win a war. Indeed, this is a real war against an unknown enemy. Cruel and cynical. For them, people are just parasites that interfere with their goals. They send their monsters purposefully to places with large crowds of people to inflict as much damage as possible. They perfectly understand that the strength of any society lies in unity and number. The more people, the more resources can be used. And the more people there are, the more brilliant people can be born.

War is the cruelest, most despicable phenomenon that can exist in the world. How to deal with the enemy who came to you to kill and subjugate, like hungry beasts that cannot satisfy their hunger? How to fight an opponent who is much stronger than you? It is impossible to break the spine of your enemy with one struggle and will. Especially the one who sits quietly on his planet and constantly throws his clones as some kind of waste to be slaughtered.

If we recall examples from human wars, we can find something similar. You don't even have to go far. When Russia attacked Ukraine, it marched in victory columns across the country, trying to capture the capital. The situation was very difficult. Imagine if a weak country, weakened for decades by various traitors and agents of a neighboring country, came into direct confrontation. She brought her army against another army that was much larger and more technologically advanced. It would be almost impossible to resist. The only choice was to conduct a covert operation and shoot these convoys of equipment with hand grenade launchers. During the first months, the most trained and equipped army of Russia was killed.

After this defeat, the Russian army fled in disgrace, but they were able to capture the southern regions. But not everything is so good. If it was a war for resources, maybe they would have behaved differently... During the time they were in the territories they occupied, they were engaged in torturing people. Murders, all kinds of abuse, rape - neither children nor the elderly were spared. There were rumors that they had separately trained troops for such cases. There were terrible events in the Second World War, but rape and torture were never used as a means of terror.

Despite the great victory in the first phase of the war, what unfolded afterwards shook the hearts of the entire country. No one expected such cruelty from the occupier. All that remains is to mourn the dead and do everything to drive these beasts out of their land. This is the face of war. Dear war is terrible. It is not for nothing that they say that the one who violates the boundary of his neighbor is cursed.

"So what if I just reveal everything about the portal and close it?" Exhaling heavily, I took a break from training. From the movie, you can recall that the original idea was to detonate the bomb in the middle of the portal. It was a terrible idea. Even if the portal closes, they will easily open it again. In this case, the equipment was not damaged, and the intrusion could easily be repeated. Only chance saved humanity. The hunter got to the side of the aliens and exploded there, causing irreparable damage.

Therefore, even making an attack should be measured and correct. Not waiting for so many people to die. But will they really not be able to open a new portal in 20 years or even 50 years? We don't know anything about them. Literally nothing! They will open a portal and attack with even greater force, and there is not even a hint of Hunter technology in the land.

This is a vile war, and the enemy will not stop just like that. Unless we hit their planet hard enough to make them unable and unwilling to fight us any more, it will all be for naught. And this is where the need to master the technology of portals arises. Until humanity learns this technology, it is impossible to win and simply survive. Even after 1000 years the aliens will achieve their goal. Fortunately, by coincidence, a traitorous biologist created hybrids of Kaiju and Hunters that could create such portals. This means that at the end of the events of the second film "Pacific Rim" humanity received such technology.

"This is a little scary. Not only can I not speed up the closing of the portal, but my actions can prevent humanity from obtaining this technology. Everything is much more complicated than it seemed. So what should I do? First, become stronger. Without strength, I can't do anything , is a priority. Second, I need to try not to damage the Kaiju's brains when I fight them. If I'm lucky, people will be able to take advantage of this opportunity. And finally, I can't stand by and watch and hope that people themselves will think of doing a Kaiju brain merge and extracting all the information from it. I need some clues. They already know I'm smart enough to interact with people so I can figure something out in the future.

"One way or another, you need to train. I will wait until the technology of the Hunters has developed sufficiently, and then I will think about how to transfer the knowledge. Pity the people who will die in this war. I won't be able to make it everywhere, the world is huge, and I can't even fly. Very small compared to the ocean. There are few things that one person can do…" After finishing his analysis, Gamera grabbed a rock and began to push it.
