1 Risen!

A tall skinny man with caved in eyes and a bald head stood with a short sword in his hand facing a giant muscular humanoid looking creature, it had dark green skin with a few patches of even darker green, its eyes were pitch black reflecting the light of the torches as they lit the mountain path, its hand had claws while on its palm rested a giant hammer with a blood red handle and a grey body.

"Ogaol jukih guay?" The creature spoke some incomprehendale words that startled the man, making him take a few steps back, but there was nowhere for him to go as the only path to leave this mountain was through the other way where the Ogre stood.

"It said something, so maybe it's intelligent" The man muttered to himself as he attempted to communicate. "Can. I. Pass?" He said while gesturing, trying his best to make this thing understand him.

The creature did not react in any way though as it stood there looking at the man as if he was a fool. "Kolaki?" The ogre spoke, before a giant toothy grin covered its face. "FoOd?"

"What?" The man's heart sank, looking at it with wariness. "I.. don't have food on me!"

"YoU… FOod!" The Ogre laughed, grabbing its Weapon tighter before charging towards the man.

"NOO.." This was the last thing he managed to utter before his head popped like a watermelon, covering the Ogre in blood, scalp pieces filled with hair and brain matter. A long jagged tongue left its mouth as it licked its hand and then its lips, looking down at the convulsing body before lifting it with one arm and taking a large bite out of the neck flaps that were left. The area soon turned eerily quiet with the only sound echoing was the sound of chewing.

"When darkness rises, when the nightmares come and the creatures of the night roam, know that is the day the Gods abandoned you.. Pray all you want, mortal.. For your Prayers… Are reaching NOTHING!" A man in comfortable fluffy pajamas, black short hair with a small, hard to notice scar on his forehead spoke. He gave off a goofy vibe with his light red glasses and smile. His dark blue eyes reflected the light seeping through the gaps between the curtains, lighting up the room slightly..

"A bit dark for my taste" A woman in similarly colored pajamas spoke. Her brown hair tied in a ponytail, she grabbed her phone as she continued. "What's with the nigthtmares and dead gods? This poet is a bit mental" She said with a chuckle.

Connor and Lisa left their room soon after as they headed towards the buffet. The cruise they were on offered quite the glorious meal everyday, making Connor's steps quicker than normal.

"Slow down" Lisa giggled, hugging his arm.

A cruise has always been on Connor's bucket list ever since he was in the orphanage, and now he was finally done with the last one, completing it. At the age of 24 Connor felt complete. Although his list was not that long to begin with, Connor was a simple man, nothing much grabbed his full interest, but was that a bad thing?

After a full meal Connor wobbled towards the pool for a nap on one of those sunloungers. His mood was at its peak, if some guy came and asked him for a kidney, he would give it up with a smile. Lisa followed behind him with her eyes glued to her phone, Connor did not mind, he wasn't much of a talker either and a nap awaited him, so who cares?

The day ended just like that and Connor awoke with a yawn, looking to his right, expecting to see Lisa, but no one was there. The pool was completely empty, the night sky had no stars and… two moons?

Connor stood up confused, he looked left and right searching for Lisa, but he couldn't see a single soul around.

"HELLO?" He yelled out but… his voice echoed? How was that possible?

Connor turned and ran to his room, hoping to find Lisa asleep or maybe sitting in her usual spot on her phone, but nothing, the room was empty.

Along his way to his room, Connor noticed the emptiness of the ship as if it was abandoned, or that everyone left and forgot about him. The ocean was as he expected, terrifyingly dark and silent.

BOOM!

As he stood on the deck looking over, the ship shook as if something hit it from beneath the water. Connor's heart dropped to his anus as he grabbed onto the railing with every fiber of his being. "WHAT THE FUCK?!!!" He yelled as the ship shook, slowly balancing itself again. Connor started to hyperventilate, slowly finding some strength to stand after his legs stopped shaking. "I should head inside!" He muttered to himself, hesitantly letting go of the railing as he took his first step away.

BOOM!

Another stronger hit made the whole ship tilt to the side as if it was about to flip over. Unfortunately for Connor all his wide eyes could see were his two feet lifting from ground with the railing going underneath him.

"I FUCKING KNEW IT!" He screamed before submerging into the darkness.

***

After a few seconds, Connor emerged from the water as he inhaled a good chunk of air, slowly, the realization of his current situation setting in. He was not sure of which to be more afraid of, the fact that he was in the middle of the ocean with the ship no longer in sight, or that something might be in the water with him right now. Crippling fear took over and all he could do was stare into the water. The darkness did not allow him to see a thing, but for some reason he could not take his eyes off of it.

"What should I do? What should I do?" He said slowly, he could feel every heartbeat and every breath he took, realizing his hopeless situation the world around him slowly started moving.. "I better not pass out!" He weakly muttered before everything turned dark.

***

"You think he'll wake up anytime soon?" An echoey voice reverberated in the darkness.

"Not sure, they said they found him just drifting in the ocean, do you think his ship sank somewhere near?" Another voice spoke.

Argh!

Connor grunted, garnering a reaction from the two voices. "Did you hear that? Maybe he's waking up?" The first voice asked.

"What if.. He turned into an undead?" The second voice said with worry.

"Should we call a novice?"

"Maybe we should!"

Two sets of footsteps on hardwood were heard, after a bit, they came back, but this time there were more than just two.

"Did you say he's turning?" a low voice spoke, he stepped closer to the body and held his opened palm towards Connor.

"Archil's Light!"

A bright light ripped through the darkness, slowly revealing a bald head with a scar on his right cheek, the man did not even have any eyebrows.

"AARGH!" Connor yelled as he sat up, looking around with fear.

"Calm down you bastard, I'm not that ugly!" The man spoke. Connor looked at him and his weird gray robe and asked. "Where am i?"

"You are safe, have no worries" The man said. "You are now on board of the Inquisition's ship"
