2 Gricard System

Soon after, when the woman was already lifeless, this cannibal twisted his neck at an awkward angle to the right side revealing his white eyes and bloody mouth as he looked at many people around him holding their phones as they filmed. He then quickly crawled like a four-legged animal at surprising speed as he addressed the crowd.

The people who were filming came to their senses and finally understood what was happening. The man who had been killed after being hit by a car, had turned into a zombie and started to devour the poor woman who was providing him medical care.

After witnessing this traumatizing scene, it looked like their turn would soon come if they were still there filming. Soon, everyone started running for their lives.

As people ran in desperation, the previous woman who had been bitten in several places began to squirm. Then she opened her lifeless white eyes and quickly took off running straight for the person closest to her.

The crawling zombie's next victim was a boy too innocent to understand what was happening and was quickly devoured. As for whether there was anyone willing to help him, everyone was running for their lives when similar scenes started happening all over town.

This cycle began to spread like a plague to every corner where there were people.

Bang, Bang!

No one knew when, but several shots were fired from a police officer who had to use up all the ammunition in his automatic pistol only to realize that to kill one of these zombies, he would have to shoot in the head. Then a silver-edged book around a white background and with the design of a sword in the center appeared before him while still floating with the pages open before his eyes and that only he could see its contents.

Also, on the back cover, there was an all-silver full body armor design right in the center of the white background.

This cop looked to be in his mid-twenties and was very dashing in his blue and black police uniform. He touched the book in front of him and the book had disappeared very quickly with his touch leaving him stunned. Then he closed his eyes and seemed to understand something. Shortly after, he started laughing out loud and only stopped when he noticed that another zombie was running towards him.

As if he knew exactly what he was doing, the policeman raised his right arm and his hand lightly gleamed with a silvery glow as a silver sword measuring 1.5 meters in length appeared in his right hand.

He looked even happier and quickly swung his sword horizontally from left to right cutting the zombie's head in half. As soon as the zombie dropped dead, a small blue card appeared next to it as it floated 30 centimeters off the ground.

The policeman looked impatient and quickly took that card. After watching it for a few seconds, he closed his eyes and the silver book from before appeared again. He flipped through a few pages of the book and inserted the blue card into it which glowed faintly and dispersed as it integrated with the book. Then the book disappeared as before.

The policeman stowed his automatic pistol in his right holster and began his zombie hunt while swinging his sword at various angles.

With each swing of his sword, a zombie head would be cut in half and a new blue card would float above the ground.

"What happened to that policeman? Killing zombies gives these magic items?"

From where Agnus was, he couldn't see in much detail, but he still witnessed everything that had happened and began to get anxious at the thought of going down the building he was in to start hunting zombies.

As an avid reader of fantasy novels, he craved adventure and his blood was boiling with excitement at the endless possibilities this world was offering him.

"No. I can't just stand here and watch. I have to go to the baron's castle and learn about my family's situation first. If something bad happens to them, who will provide me with protection in this chaotic world?"

"Wait… Family... It reminds me... How will my family on Earth react to my death or my disappearance?"

"I hope they quickly get over my loss... Sigh..."

Thinking of his family on Earth, his eyes got slightly moist without him realizing it.

Bang, Bang!

Suddenly, he heard a few knocks on his bedroom door snapping him out of his thoughts: "Who's knocking on my door? Is it an acquaintance? No, it shouldn't be. From the clumsy pace and weird grunts, it must be a zombie."

Cold sweat started to trickle down his forehead. Only now that he was about to face real danger did he realize that things aren't as easy as they were in the novels he'd read.

"It won't do any good to be nervous right now. I need to calm down first and think about what I have around me that might be useful."

After calming down, he noted in every detail of his room that it must have been at least 50 square meters.

As the son of the baron, his room was the largest of all the dormitory rooms. In addition to the single bed, the simple wardrobe, and the mirror on the left side of the door, there was a small desk on the right side.

There was also a bathroom further to the right and a kitchen to the side.

"That's it." Without hesitation, he ran to the kitchen as the knock on his bedroom door grew louder.

Arriving in the kitchen, he opened a drawer of a small cupboard and quickly took out a kitchen knife that measured about 20 centimeters.

"Luckily, the old Agnus was interested in cooking and kept this sharp knife here. But it's still too short and I can get scratched by a zombie when I approach him. Unless..." His eyes gleamed and he quickly thought of something.

Returning to his room facing the door, he picked up the small table and set it on the floor. Then he dragged her to the front of the door so it wouldn't open all the way and be blocked by the table.

When he pushed the desk aside with a high-pitched creak, the knocking on the bedroom door grew frantic and the would-be zombie seemed even more determined to enter.

"Well, I must do it." After taking a deep breath and calming down, his eyes were steady as he created up the courage to open the door.

As soon as the door was open enough for a thin person to walk through, he quickly backed away and jumped behind the desk.

An arm with sharp claws had just been stretched out in an attempt to catch him and, not having found its target, the zombie was about to enter through the narrow opening of the door and run towards its prey when, suddenly, it fell onto the table and was wedged between the narrow opening of the door.

"Is now." Seeing that her little trick had worked, Agnus hesitated only for a moment when he recognized the zombie.

He was a young man of the same age as him and who also studied in the same class as him, but they were not in close contact with each other.

This young zombie had dull white eyes and there were several bite marks near his neck. His teeth were all bloody, still containing a few pieces of human flesh between the gaps. He had already fed on some poor victim.

After finding the best position to kill the zombie while it was still lying on the ground, Agnus used all his strength to bury the knife deep into its brain.

Puff...

Followed by a muffled sound, the blood spurted from the small hole opened by the knife's penetration into the zombie's head.

The zombie continued to struggle for only a few seconds when it quickly lost its strength and its dead body collapsed onto the desk.

Agnus breathed a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from his forehead as his hands shook with fear without him realizing it, this was still his first time having this kind of experience after all.

At the same time, a small sphere of white energy emerged from the zombie and quickly entered his body without him having time to react.

[You killed a zombie of level 1 classified as 0 order and gained +10 of energy]

[Congratulations, you have been promoted to level 1 and received 2 free attributes points to be reallocated according to your preference]

Upon receiving this message, Agnus' body went rigid as he felt a tingle in his muscles as he went through some internal changes.

A short time later, he felt his strength increase tremendously and he even felt much more refreshed, as if he had made no effort to kill the zombie.

"Although my strength has increased, why didn't I receive a magic item like that policeman?"

He was confused and a little regretful that he hadn't received a book or a magic card and began to wonder if not everyone could be as lucky as that policeman.

[Ding!]

Suddenly, a cold voice echoed in the depths of his soul, taking him by surprise.
