22 Chapter 22

The supply base of Suna was located only a few kilometers away from the cave so Gin arrived near it in short period of time.

The base was surrounded by thick forest on all the sides but the ground on which it was built, was completely flat which was about two kilometers in length and one kilometer in width . Gin's mind eye could easily capture all the inside out of the base, if he just managed to stop few hundred meters before its entrance.

If Gin did that , his figure would be easily seen by the enemies which was definitely not a good thing. So he stopped about two kilometers away from the entrance and spied on the enemies near the entrance using mind eye .

At the entrance only, there were at least forty genin and chunin class ninja in total. So Gin sweated as he thought that there were really many more powerful ninja inside because he could hear from the chats of the ninja.

This was definitely not a supply base because from the talks of the ninja at the entrance, Gin managed to gain the information that their leader was Chiyo the puppeteer.

Gin did not remember much of the story but he still remembered the name of Chiyo because she was the best puppeteer of Suna and master of poisons. On top of that she was a Kage level when she died because when she was reanimated using Edo Tensei jutsu during Fourth Ninja World war , it was mentioned as such .

Even though Gin could fight her using Eight Gates Technique but there were too many more enemies inside the base . From Gin's estimations, the number must be more than one hundred considering the huge number of tents .

From the information from Sakumo , this was definitely only a supply base before because Konoha forces had confirmed it once . It's just that when elite chunin teams were sent to destroy this base, then Chiyo and her huge group must not have arrived here at all .

They must have been killed by some forces before arriving here .

If Chiyo and her group killed them then they would have abandoned this base long ago . So the only answer would be that currently Chiyo and her group came here recently and had no idea about such events.

From the gear of the ninja at the entrance , they were ready to move away as many were carrying bags filled with scrolls and were fully equipped. Gin eavesdropped on their casual conversations for a long time before he finally knew the real purpose of this huge group .

The chunin and genin class ninja were mostly used as cannon fodder in such large scale wars so they were naturally not informed of their actual missions most of the time while traveling in a group led by way powerful commanders like elite jonin or Kage level ninja . So Gin needed some time to gather useful information from their chats and complie them to guess the mission of this group . This was the limit of what Gin could do because if he tried to get closer then he would be discovered and then forced to face huge elite enemy army led by assumingly Kage level ninja . Now that would be courting death for real ..

Thus Gin stealthily went back to the cave while thanking his wits which stopped him from advancing forward before . Gin could use shadow clones too for scouting but then he would not have enough time to escape from the enemy encirclement along with his squad . He could manage alone but would never abandon his squad so rejected the using shadow clones idea.

After arriving back at the cave , Gin immediately used a hand sign to tell his subordinates to stop whatever they want to say because now it was an emergency. Gin had no idea when Chiyo and her group would start advancing as it could be in a minute from now or later . Anyway he could not afford to bet his squad's safety on a guess . So the squad of four immediately left the area stealthily and started traveling back ..

If Gin's guess was correct then this group must be for a huge pincer attack to Konoha's central battle force . Then to use this plan most effectively , Suna's main central army would definitely keep Konoha forces busy so that they do not notice anything unusual. Truly a bold plan . If it succeeded then Konoha would suffer from a huge blow which would cause many problems in future battle even if Konoha managed to survive through the pincer attack of Suna's main force and Chiyo's group .

Now Gin's priority was to quickly find a safe place and relay back this huge piece of information to the central battlefield base as soon as possible . They could start preparing soon then maybe form a battle plan to defeat both of the Suna forces at once..
