Moving On

Broken pieces of my heart

slicing through my lungs

harder to breathe and

even harder to move on

You were once my everything

my happiness, my heart

but now we've left me broken

with no idea where to start

People say it will get better

that I'll rise up after the fall

but for now, that seems hard to imagine for the hope is slim

to none at all

Still, I force myself to believe in a tomorrow

A day with the little less sorrow
