Grant me a wish

"Marry me," he murmured. "I'm the only one that can get you out of this mess." I stared at his dull eyes, knowing my freedom would come at a price more than marriage. "What's the deal ?" I asked, knowing that I won't be satisfied with his answer. "Have a child with me," he suddenly said. "Nurture it for one year. After that, you can leave and have the freedom you have always wanted." I looked up at him. A surprised look has drawn to my face. He sounded too calm for his words to match the seriousness on his face. "Don't worry, sweetheart," he continued. "Your secret is safe with me." "What do you know," I replied confidently. "That expression on your face says it all," he said, slightly chuckling. "I know you killed him, along with the reason why." "Where did you find those goodies," I asked, giving him a questioning look.

"My brother gave them to me," he answered.

"Like I'll believe that," replied Emma.

We seated on selves on the swings continuing our conversation.

"Don't you guys want to leave," I asked, staring at the dull sky.

I smiled, hearing the other two chuckle at my question.

"Once here, forever here," replied Emma. "We become what our parents are."

"If there was an opportunity, would you leave here," I asked?

"I would leave," Alex replayed, his eye wondering at the lonely sky. "Nothing is holding me back to this town."

I smiled, as that was the answer I would have guessed from him.

"What about you, Emma," I asked, letting the fumes from the cigarette exit my mouth.

"I wish I could, but all of the things I know are here," she replied, a hint of saddest filling in the void of her emotions. "After all, who is going to take care of my siblings?"

"What about..."but before I could finish my sentence, hurdling screams exited the building.

Our gazes shifted in the direction of the noise. A group of men entered the building, one deadlier than the next.

I glared at the group when I locked eyes with one of the men. His eyes filled with nothing but hostility and malfeasance.

I stepped back as a grin appeared on his face. There was no need for words. His face said it all.

I was next.

I grasped Alex's hands, with Emma pulled them away. I froze as the events flashed in my mind.

"I have to go home," I suddenly murmured.

I ran back in into the building. I gasped as I found our apartment door wide open.

"Mom," I screamed, taking slow steps inside.

Every step seemed filled with eeriness, which was intensified by the stares of those random men.

"Mom," I murmured, taking a turn down the hallway.

I stumbled when I saw her tied to a chair. Not uttering another word, I ran towards her in an attempt to free her when a cold item touched my head.

I slowly raised my hands.

"Stand up," said the man.

I stood up, following every single one of his instructions. I faced my mother as she squinted her eyes in so call regret.

Would you believe a person's regret is insincere if they forget about the reason they regretted their actions?

"Where is the money, Ana," he asked.

I simply shrugged my shoulders, taking a glance at the window.

"I don't like to repeat myself, Ana," he asked. "I'm not a man of patience."

"You should ask the person who told you we had money," I replied. "If we did, I doubt we would still be in the slump."

I scoffed as the man laughed at my words. I was getting tired of this act.

"I liked you, Anastasia," he said, scars filling his words." I'm sorry things turned out like this."

"Then grant me a wish," I suddenly asked. "If you acknowledge me, then grant me a wish."

The man stared at me, slightly shooked at my words and boldness. Almost as if he thought I was afraid to die.

"Kill me, "I said.

Hearing what I said, muffled screams exited my mother's mouth.

"Isn't that what you wanted," I asked. "Now you can do anything you want to do. You don't have to worry about having a daughter."

"You can now be the free human you want to be," I continued. "Consider this as him doing you a favor."

I sighed as her frantic actions came to a stop. She suddenly became dull.

"Why do you want to die," suddenly asked the man. "Every action has a reason. What's yours."

I scoffed. His questions were starting to trigger me. Was it this difficult to take life for someone like him?

I turned around to face him, grasping his gun and guiding it to my forehead.

"Do it," I murmured."DO IT."
