9 CH 08: Murphy's law is real, and you better be prepared for it because if you don't, you will undoubtedly regret it

Opening the chest, Hao immediately checks all of the loot he gets.

"Two purple and one orange," Hao mutters, seeing the loot's rarity before picking all of them up.

"That is a very long name," Hao said before equipping the dagger. But a dagger with Soulforce attack and life and mana steal effect with a decent stat buff too. This one is pretty good, all things considered."

"Hey, wait a minute... Demonic... Eternal... Absorbing... Dagger... Nah, probably nothing."

"These stats are not bad at all. I think I might be very busted."

With all that said and done, Hao finally decides to leave the dungeon and head toward the city that is Oscurida. With him being outside, Hao starts to make his way toward the town, and while doing so, Hao starts to remember something.

[This is a global announcement!! Congratulations to the player "Actuallyfiend" for being the first player to clear "The deep stone hideout"]

[This is a global announcement!! Congratulations to the player "Actuallyfiend", who earn the first "Solo levelling" achievement!!]

"Global announcement: I forgot this was a thing in the game. This might cause a problem... Eh, who cares? It's not like people will start to care about some random player in the game. I mean, what worse that could happen?"

[World chat]

[This is a global announcement!! Congratulations to the player "Actuallyfiend" for being the first player to clear "The deep stone hideout"]

[This is a global announcement!! Congratulations to the player "Actuallyfiend", who earn the first "Solo levelling" achievement!!]

[Another dungeon find, huh? But what is Solo levelling achievement? Is it a hard achievement?]

[Why is it only showing one player's name? I thought it took at least four to clear a dungeon. Is it a bug?]

[Guy, I checked the achievement, and it said that you could only earn it by clearing the dungeon solo.]

[What?]

[Your joking]

[Are you sure it is the right achievement?]

[There is no way someone is already able to clear a dungeon alone after a single day of this game being released!]

[He is probably cheating!]

[Are you stupid? How the hell would you cheat in a VRMMO?]

[He is probably a high-level player who clears a low-level dungeon.]

"Boss, did you see the announcement?"

"Yes, I did."

"Do you know who that is?"

"I don't know them. But it would not be bad to have someone like them in our guild. Announce our guild chat for whoever recruits them to receive a reward."

"Yes, sir."

[Luzpara, light faction capital city]

"Miss Kaori, there seems to be a new announcement."

"Ho? Let me see..."

"A solo clear of a dungeon, and that name... I never heard that username before. Interesting..."

"Valka"

"Yes, miss?"

"Go find out more about this person, and contact me if you can."

"Of course, miss, but may I ask why?"

"Personal interest, nothing more than that."

[Oscurida, dark faction capital city]

"It seems that another interesting player had entered the game. I wonder how good he is if I fight him."

[Back with Hao]

"Nothing could go wrong," Hao said while nodding to himself before thinking about something else.

'Now, what should I do with all the loot I have? There is no trading chat until the next update, and there is no auction house yet; selling it to the NPC would certainly not make a profit... well, if there is no auction house yet, I could make one myself.' Hao thought

'Let's see... I have ten green pieces, four blue, and two purple. I could make much money if I play my card right.'

The currency in GEP works like most MMOs; there are bronze, silver and gold. 100 bronze equals one silver, and 100 silver is equal to 1 gold. Gold can then be used to exchange for real money, with one gold that will be equal to 10 credits in the real world.

While in the early games, it was tough to earn gold coins, the more you played, the easier you could make gold by simply playing the game.

While currently, Hao has a total amount of 15 bronze and 52 silver with no gold.

"Well, I could do the auction tomorrow. I should get all of the items I need first before starting to make some money. After all, I'm sure I still have my savings left that would last me at least a month."

After twenty minutes, Hao finally arrives at the capital city of the dark faction, Oscurida. It is a massive city that can be easily seen from a distance. With most buildings made of stone and concrete, the building style is like something that comes out of a gothic novel, with the city's centre being a massive stone gothic-type castle.

Of course, the first thing that Hao does arrive at the city is to go around and accept as many side quests as possible before starting to clear it one by one. Due to Hao being quite over level, the exp that he is getting is relatively low, considering most of the side quest is for the people who are level 10.

After another half an hour of doing the quests, Hao finally levels up to 20 and spends all his stat points.

"Finally, level 20! I should be able to get the sub-class now."

[You have reached level 20!! You will now earn a sub-class, depending on your stats. You can then change your sub-class by using a skill book and a quest to change your sub-class. You can change your previous sub-class by talking to the class master at the guild building.]

You are the demon that loves to inflict pain on others. You have no trust in other people and will do anything and everything for your benefit. When you fight, you enjoy inflicting pain on your enemy with a brutal combat style you used and seeing them suffer underneath your heel.]

'Oh dearest me, what kind of evaluation is that!? Am I that sadistic when I fight enemies? The last part makes sense, considering I always stomp on enemies when they are down... while also laughing...'

'Yeah, I see nothing wrong with that.'

[You are the demon that loves to inflict pain on others. The sadistic trickster.]

[The sub-class you will earn will be...]

[Arcsnake Trickster!!]
