Just a Walk Through the Village.

Marina, who was training with the stick on the plain, noticed a presence of something approaching her quickly from behind.

As if there was a switch, her eyes sharpened and she went into combat mode.

There was no time to turn around to see what it was coming, so, without hesitation, Marina rotated her body and gave a high kick, aiming the presence that was already a few centimeters away from her.

With a loud bang, the kick hit the target. The target, however, was a boy the same age as Marina.

The kick hit him perfectly in the face. Marina's foot seemed to sink into her cheek, and she swore she saw a tooth fall out somewhere.

The boy hit by Marina's kick rolled on the ground and hit his head on a small tree.

Seeing that the presence was not an enemy but an acquaintance, the switch within her was turned off.

''Oh... It was you, Babu.'' Marina commented without changing her deadpan expression.

The boy gets up from the ground with a huge bump on his head and turns to Marina with a swollen face.

''What kind of reaction is this?! At least try to look a little worried about the person you kicked, you gorilla! And don't call me Babu! My name is Hiraka!'' He said in fury as he cried in pain.

Hiraka is a boy the same age as Marina who lives in the same orphanage as her. He has curly red hair and droopy brown eyes. Marina and everyone else at the orphanage affectionately call him Babu, as it was the only words he said until he was two years old. However, he hates the childish nickname.

Marina sighed,''Even if you say that...This happens every time.''

This wasn't the first time Marina had hit him. Hiraka almost always tries to prank or scare her, and she always ends up hitting him in some way.

Marina is not dense. As a person who was once a man, she knows he probably likes her, so he always wants to pester her. It's quite common for brats to annoy the girls they like as they don't know how to express their feelings yet.

She was aware that Hiraka wasn't the only one who had a crush on her. Most of the boys in the orfanate did. She was very cute, and would grow up to be a great beauty. The only difference between Hiraka and the others was that Hiraka had the courage to interact with her.

The others seemed to be afraid of her, even though at the same time they had a crush on her.

Unfortunately for Hiraka and the other boys, on the inside, Marina has the memories and personality of a thirty-year-old Yazuka. She doesn't like men romantically, let alone children.

''Tch! Whatever. Hey do you want to go explore the city?'' Hiraka asked innocently. It was like he never got hit in the first place.

Marina thought for a few seconds, then replied, ''Sure, let's go.''

\\

Arriving in town, Marina and Hiraka simply walk around while looking around. There really wasn't much to look at. There were some fruit and meat shops, some hotels and some city hall buildings.

Hiraka however looked at everything as if it was the first time, even though he came to the village every day.

Marina didn't see how 'exploring the village' was fun, but she liked to walk, so it doesn't make much difference to her.

As she looked around, Marina's eyes locked on a particular store and a small smile grew on her face. It was the Weapon Store.

''Hmm? What is it? Did you discovery something?'' Hiraka said, seeing Marina walking away from him. Realizing where she was going, he sighs in disappointment, ''Oh...The gun shop again...''

Just as it was a daily occurrence for Hiraka to explore the village, it was also a daily occurrence for Marina to visit the village's weapons shop.

Seeing that Marina wouldn't stop, Hiraka shrugged and followed her.

\\

Entering the weapon shop, Marina's view is greeted with several shelves with assorted weapons of various types. There were muskets, scimitars, katanas, pistols, and assorted other types.

Seeing the weapons, the small smile that Marina had on her face, widened even more, forming a huge smile.

Hiraka walked in and noticed the big smile on Marina's face and he blushed.

''C-Cute!!' He thought.

Marina, who was very absorbed in the weapons, didn't notice Hiraka by her side and neither noticed the man behind the counter of the shop who was looking at her with a tired expression; or rather, she chose to ignore them completely.

''You again, girl? Don't you get tired of coming here almost every single day?'' The man behind the counter said.

The man was called Asuchi, he was a blacksmith, merchant, and owner of the Weapons Store. He had brown skin, black eyes, and was bald. He wore overalls and an apron on top.

''Not at all.'' Marina replied without even looking at him.

Asuchi just sighed at her behavior. At first he really found her personality impolite, but over time he just stopped caring about that.

Marina was aware that her way of talking and behave upset many people, but she couldn't do much. She has always had a rude way of talking. When she was a Yakuza, she always spoke and behaved that way.

It's as if you spoke with an accent for thirty years and then you were asked to speak without the accent. It's almost impossible, but manageable to a certain extent.

She walked over to where the Katanas were and began to inspect them carefully as if they were little babies.

She picked up a katana from a counter that she could reach, took it out of its sheath, and began to analyze the blade gently with her hands. The blade was as hard as a Western sword from his home world, but still very malleable, and it was so sharp that it could cut a man in half with ease.

The smooth shape and coolness of the blade gave Marina a feeling of comfort. She felt at ease when she had a katana in her hand.

Even before she was reincarnated, she loved katanas. She always wore one in her bodyguard days, and she had a unique katana custom-made for her at the time. She loved the katana so much that if she had a wife and the wife asked her to choose between her and the katana, she would choose the katana without a second thought.

Hiraka also wanted to get some weapons to play with, specifically a large scimitar. Just as he was going to take it, Asuchi stopped him.

''Boy, don't even think about picking up that scimitar. Weapons are not child's play.'' He warned him with a serious expression.

Hiraka, hearing the warning, stopped, and then looked at Marina and Asuchi respectively.

''That's not fair! Why can she get a weapon to play with, and I can't?!'' Hiraka pouted.

Asuchi, as if lightning struck him, froze and seriously thought about Hiraka's words, as from the beginning, he never stopped Marina from taking a weapon.

'Now that the kid said it, he's absolutely right! Why the hell did I let a child, worse, a little girl touch a katana?' He thought.

He turned around with the same serious expression he used on Hiraka and faced Marina.

''Girl, put that katana where it was! It's dangerous to play with weapons! Also, I won't let you touch them anymore, not without my permission!'' He ordered.

When he said that Asuchi thought she would obediently put the katana in place, but that didn't happen.

Marina, who was looking at the katana, turned her face and faced Asuchi. Marina's expression was grim, and she had a slight frown on her face.

The two faced each other, and instantly Asuchi began to sweat and tremble.

'What the hell is with this girl! How can this cute angry face give off so much pressure?!' He thought as he still faced her.

He didn't know, but Marina has already killed too much, so much so that she lost count. She could make a grown man shit himself with just one look if she wanted.

What Marine is emiting wasn't bloodlust, it was just the pressure of an Apex-Predator, it was the pressure of someone who was once at the top of the food chain.

Transmitting her intent with her eyes, she was telling him to keep his mouth shut and not interfere with her business. Asuchi's mind hadn't understood the message, but his body had.

( A / N: What Marina is doing is intimidating the other person with her intention through her gaze. For example, you know when you look at someone and he/she look back at you with such an intimidating glare that you instinctively know that it's better to not mess with him/her? It's the same thing. You can say that the Kill Intent or Bloodlust is the high level of the Intimidate Intent.)

After a few seconds, he looks away and grumbles, ''Well, all right. You can continue to see the Katanas.''

The frown on Marina's face fades and her happy expression returns as she starts analyzing the Katana again.

''What?! That's not fair! Why just her? Are you scared of her or something?!'' Hiraka said while pointing at Marina with an even bigger pout.

''S-Shut up, brat! It's my store and if I told her she can see the Katana, then she can see the Katana!'' Asuchi replied with a slight stutter. He won't admit it, but Hiraka nailed it. He was scared of Marina.

The two continued to argue while Marina was in her secret dream world of Katanas.
