Something shocking

I really sleep well that night. I don't know if that because I'm too tired or the peaceful atmosphere in the village make me comfortable to sleep. Although I only sleep in the wooden bed, but I feel energetic without drowsiness like usually i had when I wake up. I was wake up when I heard knocking on the wall, and chief Harvard entering the room carrying a basin of water.

"Good morning master Ikki, did you sleep well? I bring some water to wash the face"

"Ah, good morning, chief Harvard. Sorry to trouble you"

"It's nothing master Ikki. I leave the water here"

Chief Harvard put the basin on the table and leaves the room after that. Since he didn't speak about breakfast or invited me to have breakfast, I assume the breakfast culture is not exist in this world. Well, I guess that normal because they will need to collect food ingredient first before cook it and there's no refrigerator in here to keep food ingredient. So, after wash my face with water from the basin, I secretly took leftover onigiri from my backpack and eat it. I need energy to go to the forest again, and I don't have much to share with Harvard family. Please don't call me stingy for that.

After finishing my onigiri, I take a look at my watch, it's almost seven at morning, so I walk out from the room to take a bath. I've sweating a lot when lost in the forest and it leaves unpleasant feeling to my body. For Japanese people who like cleanliness like me, take a bath at least once a day is a must. So when I see Chief Harvard in the sitting room, I ask him the bathroom location.

"Chief Harvard, can you tell me where the bathroom is?"

Chief Harvard only smiles awkwardly hearing my question. After hesitate a while he answer it

"My apology master Ikki, we don't have bathroom. We have a well at the back of the house for water supply but there's no special room for bathing. We use river or small pond near village when take a bath"

Well, what I can expect from this remote village anyway. So, I ask the direction of river or that small pond at Chief Harvard.

"Alright, can you tell me where that is?"

"The river is a bit further from the village, on southern part near forest. Master Ikki came from south gate yesterday, so the river is on that direction. The pond is on northern part of the village, the opposite direction from the river"

"Okay, thanks for the direction"

"Oh right, I almost forgot, I already ask some people to accompany us to the forest. They will ready in few hours. I hope master Ikki don't mind with that"

"No, I don't mind, I think that would be better instead. We don't know what we will meet at forest, beside the more the merrier and safer of course"

"Hahaha … glad to hear that, master Ikki"

After finishing pleasantries with Chief Harvard, I decide to take a bath immediately before the people that Chief Harvard asks to accompany us to the forest come.

I choose to go to the nearest one, the ponds. I walk through the village street, seeing the houses and its resident. Most resident I see is children that play together, I barely see any adult there. Maybe they already go out for work at field or forest. After leaving the village's north gate, I'm following direction that given by Chief Harvard to the ponds. There's a small trails between big trees on the way to the ponds. Birds chirping sounds can be heard from the tree along the trail make melodious voice that pleasant to my ears. When I try to look what kind of bird that make so nice sound, they get scared and fly away without I ever see what kind of the bird is that. After walk about five minutes, I can hear dripping water sound from afar. Ah! that's must be the pond.

But when I'm about to arrive at the ponds, something make my steps halts and I have to hide myself behind a large tree. Gosh! Suddenly my heart is throbbing very fast like almost jump out from my chest.

BADUMP … BADUMP …. BADUMP

Damn! I don't believe with what i see.
