6 Chapter 6: Progress
11:23 PM : Gotham City;
On the top floor of an abandoned building, a panicked figure covered by a hood was deeply aggravated.
"Shit Shit fucking hell ,What happened to I handled the cops?! Huh Quin?! They're onto us for sure!
Another hooded figure was seated on the floor breathing rapidly before he spoke.
"Ever since we took the fall for that botched heist we've been on the radar of every fucking cop in Gotham, If the Bat and those little brats weren't busy with their league we'd be screwed right now"
One figure remained silent while another removed the hood covering her face, it was none other than the sexy yet crazy Harley Quin.
'That's her alright but something seems off'.
Arias observed two buildings away by willing his visual prowess to increase by leaps and bounds. He then turned his attention to the hooded figures
'but who are they? *sigh* from what I can tell they're being chased by the police and they aren't letting off so it must be something big but then Batman would've shown up right? This timeline is unknown to me so I can't predict what could be happening right now, I'm not even sure if the events are based off shows I may have seen. No pondering on it more than I should'
he gave the building one last glance as he jumped off. After landing he walked off to a nearby small hotel.
'This is a lot to take in...I better call it a night for today. I'll assess my situation properly tomorrow. Then as for Harley...if she can manage to dodge the police till I get my bearings then I should make contact. I'm curious about how similar she is to how she was portrayed in my world. That and she could be my ticket to underworld contacts and big money..Power is all well and good but I'll need money as well for obvious reasons'.
He showed small smirk as he checked into the hotel. In his room he stood by a window sipping a glass of liquor as he stared at the bleak chaotic city that was Gotham...
'Àpeiro do you disapprove of my actions earlier?'
A lovely voice could be heard inside his head it could make one question how such a lovely alluring voice could come to be.
'If you felt they should die then they should die,I'm simply neutral on the matter.'
Giving her answer the voice and sensation faded once more leaving arias to his thoughts.
'I doubt I'll be on good terms with the so called heroes of this world depending on how they are. I highly doubt their fetish for justice has changed so that is very unlikely. As for the villains...they can be lured in by money or power...'
'Dangerous beings and villains are constantly caught and freed only to cause terror once more killing countless innocents but as long as the heroes themselves don't take lives they seem content, which is where they are wrong the damage alone they cause during fights could give most of them one hell of kill count.'
'Calling yourself a hero even after such is a joke so why bother? Some seek admiration , some fame ,others like to feel needed and some just want to feel powerful...'
He stared quietly into the city enjoying his drink as he continued to contemplate how to go about things in his new life.
At Noon the next day Arias stood in front of a seemingly regular bar staring at its design for a moment before walking in, immediately he did so he could feel everyone's gaze on him but he simply remained stoic and went to the counter before ordering a drink for himself.
The bartender looked at Arias for a moment before speaking.
"aren't you a little young to be drinking young man?"
Arias looked at the man carefully for a moment, his eyes gaining a strange glow, strands of black smoke began to emanate from his body along with a suffocating aura that spread around him.
"8 armed men, 4 meta humans and a few devices mounted all around".
The Bar tender seemed taken aback for a moment but kept his composure but a single drop of sweat could be seen coming down his forehead, he eyed the young man carefully before he spoke.
"what do you want here?".
Seeing the man slightly fearful Arias made his intentions clear.
"Simple I need your services"
The man seemed agitated before he spoke loudly with a trace of visible anger.
"No idea what you're talking about kid, leave now before you do or say something you can't take back".
Arias remained stoic despite being threatened and spoke in a casual tone.
"I'll make this easier for you, if you don't offer any services...then what's the point in letting you all live."
As Arias spoke, his eyes began to glow and the suffocating aura he radiated grew wider in radius. Wether it was just for show or not, anyone who felt it would feel a bone chilling danger present.
"Fine! I'll work something out but in return...tell me who told you of this place."
Arias smiled before placing a bloody ring on the table.
"Is he..."
Before the bartender could fully ask his question, Arias nodded slowly. The bartender then took the ring and placed it under the counter before summarizing what services they offer and normal procedures.
The man continued to talk almost endlessly until Arias gestured him to stop.
"Enough, I get the picture....but what about your "other" services".
Then man let out a smile and started filling out something on a phone then passing it to Arias, along with a ring.
"We hope to see you soon Mr?...".
Arias casually took the phone and put it in his pocket before answering.
"Leave it blank".
'To think that strange robber that broke into my room last night would provide such useful information...too bad his powers were lacking or I'd have reaped two benefits'
