22 Crom Dubh Dullahan

[A few minutes ago]

Ainz's POV

"This. Ends. NOW!"

I held my sword upon it's hilt to wield it.

With such great force held within my grip.

But just as I was about smite the 'Maggots' below me.

Just as I was about to let them taste the fury of the heavens.

I stopped.

And then I thought...

Do they deserve such quick and serene death?

To die under the hands of an Angel such as I... It would have been a blessing for them.

But I don't want that.

Why would I grace the 'Maggots' down below... with a death so quick... that's practically letting them go.

Don't I deserve at least a show?

With such great theatrics in mind, I devised a plan.

A great play.

One of chaos and one of... ME.

A great tragedy shall fall from the sky, to reap the souls of the damned.

And I, with such great entrance, shall be their salvation... at least for the remaining few.

Why would I toil and sully my hands with the blood of these 'Maggots'?

Why should I lift my sword to kill vermin such as them?

When 'someone' could do the job for me?

Far more splendidly, to let those who have sinned, end in such despair, in such helplessness, in such tragedy.

"How sweet it would be?"

I set my eyes upon the game screen of which I willed to show my inventory.

I scoured the plethora of items of which I owe to find something of use.

And there, behold, the familiar Item.

[The Fool's Locket]

The reward I won fighting against the Boss in the [Defiled Asylum], with Sera and Cassandra, back at the time of my 'Newbie' phase.

I have realized that I haven't given it a name after all these years.

"Well... It's time to change that"

Names hold power, that much is true.

Even the Diabolic counterpart of the Holy, relies upon names.

It is a show of power... of stature... of pride...

The longer the name of a demon, the stronger it was believed to be.

"I guess that works to Angels as well? Considering my true name that My Love has given me is quite a mouthful"

And since a Dullahan is technically not a Demon so I won't grant it such privilege.

"But at least, it deserves a well meaning and powerful name... Hmm"

I pondered and scanned through my memories for a name that would suit this Summon of mine for it would surely be an integral part for my plans.

"It would be more respectful that way, unlike me just calling the creature as merely an 'IT'... though it does not sound bad considering that Horrific Clown is named as such"

I pondered and formulated names for a while and finally decided.

Just as I was about to click on the screen, a pop up appeared.

{Edit Summon's Name?}

{YES} {NO}

'Did it somehow sense my intentions on editing it? This system is quite convenient'

I thought to myself as I picked the option, {YES}.

It then manifested a holographic keyboard.

{Insert Name Here: |}

I typed in the name, {Crom Dubh Dullahan}.

I got the name of Crom Dubh Dullahan from the ancient Celtic God of fertility Crom Dubh.

The King of Ireland of long ago, in an era when human sacrifice to the Gods was believed to be a popular ritual, worshiped Crom Dubh.

Crom Dubh is said to demand human lives every year to be sacrificed in his name and the method of sacrifice that he asked for was decapitation.

In the 6th century, when Christianity came to Ireland, these sacrificial rituals were condemned and as Christianity grew in popularity they stopped altogether.

This was when the story of the Dullahan first became prevalent, as the Irish people believed that Crom Dubh took this physical form in order to continue getting the sacrificial souls that he called for.

'I have YouTube to thank for that information... It's a good thing to watch random stuff in it, you'll never know what you watch will turn out to be useful'

"Now... Let us play, shall we?"

I wore the locket upon my neck and held it with my clasped hands as if in prayer.

"Rip and Tear... Until it's done!"

And with that, the locket glowed.

_____

Narrator's POV

"RAAAAAARGGHHHHH!"

The abomination roared as it echoed throughout the island. Awakening the pirates and masters that are once asleep and was busy with their vile deeds. They came out of their tents and shelters, only to loose their voices and their eyes wide open.

"Who was it that dared to disturb m-...!"

"M-mm-MONSTER!"

"By the very gods..."

"What in the drowned god is that!?"

"Mama..."

Countless screams and shouts from those who stood witness to such being.

Many fainted at the very sight, others simply relieved themselves of their wastes, while some simply stood and gawked at the monstrosity that fell from the sky.

Amidst the raging storm, the Chimeric Dullahan stood at the very shores of which the pirates docked their ships. It fell from the heavens like a nightmare made flesh, its grotesque form a twisted amalgamation of body parts from countless creatures, some from their looks of it, they don't even know.

Its monstrous body writhed and contorted with an unholy vitality, composed of a patchwork of limbs and appendages that seemed to writhe and squirm with a life of their own.

The creature's torso was a mass of sinewy muscle and exposed bone, its flesh a sickly shade of crimson that seemed to pulse with life. At its center, a gaping maw yawned open, lined with rows upon row of razor-sharp teeth.

The pirate encampment, nestled within the shores of the island, was thrown into disarray by the sudden appearance of the Dullahan. Tents and makeshift shelters were torn asunder by the force of the impact, while cages filled with captive souls rattled ominously in the aftermath of the crash.

"RAAAAAARGGHHHHH!"

With another bone-chilling roar, the Dullahan advanced upon the encampment, its massive appendages destroying everything in its way.

The pirates, caught off guard by the sudden onslaught, scrambled to mount a defense as the monstrous entity bore down upon them with relentless fury.

Cannon fire erupted from the pirate cannons, their thunderous roar echoing through the jungle as they unleashed a barrage of cannonballs towards the Dullahan. But the monstrous entity was unfazed by the feeble attempts of the pirates to fend it off, its abominable form shrugging off the onslaught with ease.

With a single swipe of one of its massive arms, the Dullahan sent a barrage of cannonballs hurtling back towards the pirate ships and encampment, tearing through the makeshift shelters and tents like paper. The ground shook with the force of the impact as the pirate structures were reduced to little more than splinters and rubble.

Amidst the pouring rain and chaos, the screams of the pirates filled the air as they scrambled to escape the wrath of the Dullahan. But the monstrous entity moved with unnatural speed, despite its large form, it continued weaving through the sand with ease as it pursued its quarry with relentless determination.

With each swing of its numerous appendages, the Dullahan carved a path of destruction through the pirate ranks, its every movement calculated and precise as it laid waste to everything in its path but keeping the enslaved unharmed.

The pirates, overwhelmed by the sheer ferocity of the attack, fell like weeds before the scythe, their screams drowned out by the roars of the abomination. With blood continuously flowing like the raging seas, painting the sandy shores, bloody red.

It grabbed the 'Maggots' within its reach and tore them to shreds. Others it gladly devoured. As each unfortunate soul it ate, its strength, speed, and durability increased.

Targeting solely the 'Maggots' of which it's Master has instructed, it granted the Dullahan more vitality, more strength, more life.

As the battle raged on, the Dullahan's grotesque form seemed to pulse with an otherworldly energy, its form growing larger and more imposing with each passing moment.

With a final, bone-chilling roar, the monstrous entity unleashed a torrent of dark energy that engulfed the remaining pirate encampment in a burst of blood and flesh.

In the aftermath of the massacre, the pirate encampment lay in ruins, its structures reduced to little more than rubble.

The once-mighty pirates had been vanquished, their forces decimated by the awesome power of the Chimeric Dullahan and its insatiable hunger for destruction.

All that was left, breathing and living, are the captives, the slaves, the ones who have lost their lives and names.

Crom Dubh, the Dullahan - ripped and tore its targets to shreds, until all his tasks were done.

And in the silence of its destruction...

Birthed an overwhelming light!

"BE NOT AFRAID..."

Hello~ You guys miss me? ( ´◡‿ゝ◡`)

I know most of you guys were expecting for our MC to do the job himself but I'm sorry to disappoint you for that's not the case. (≧▽≦)

Daddy Bones didn't even deal with the Knights that attacked Carne Village by himself when he first encountered them. Death Knight for our Daddy, Dullahan for our MC. So let's just say, my decision was reasonable. (◡ ω ◡) Testing out the waters, right? (◠‿◕)

Btw, I made this chapter a bit longer to make up for the short content in the previous chapter. ( ꈍᴗꈍ) Even though the additional length is negligible ಥ‿ಥ

How was the chapter? Any good? Let me know how you feel about it. (人*´∀`)。*゚+

And of course, I would like to thank the supporters of this work of mine. I am so grateful to you all, especially the few who gives me their stones almost everyday! You know who you are! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧ I'm preparing something special for you.

I think I might have to end Supporters' List at this point though. Consider it as a 1st Arc privilege. The number of supporters are growing and I can't keep up with it. I'm sorry ༼;´༎ຶ ۝ ༎ຶ༽

Anyways, got any suggestions? Violent reactions? Comment and Review them cause I welcome them all~ (つ✧ω✧)つ

Have a great day! Hope you like it!
