The Free folk

"Aaaaahh" Shyra's screams brought Arthor out of his trance as he and his father observed her with confusion.

Shyra bounced back with a look of pure terror on her face as she continued to utter a prayer under her breath. Harwood seeing all this moved to support her placing his hand on her shoulder.

"Shyra calm down, calm down listen to me you're okay just calm down" Harwood continued to placate her with his words which seemed to have an effect.

But she became hysterical once more when she laid eyes on Arthor who observed her with visible confusion. "get out, Get Out! Out now! Get Out!"

Shyra grabbed whatever was close to her and began to fling them towards Arthor. Arthor uttered no words as he left the place still confused as to what exactly had happened.

His father soon came out after, "what exactly happened?" Arthor questioned his father. "I don't know, she felt something about you and wanted to look into your future but... I have no idea why she is like that."

Arthor looked to the hut once more his curiosity at an all time high, wondering to himself just what had she seen.

"You can go"

"What?"

"You came to me to ask permission to leave did you not, I'm saying you can. Prove to me my faith in you was not misplaced" Harwood stretched out his hand to rub his sons head, looking at him with a proud look.

"Thank you father", Arthor gave a nod before turning to leave. Harwood who watched him leave had a concerned look in his eyes, he would be lying if he said what happened in the hut did not raise his concerns.

For Shyra to scream and act like that just what had she seen, what had terrified her so.

Arthor held similar thoughts in his head, but rid himself of such thoughts as he made his way to his where his brothers and Meha had gathered to tell them, Harwood had allowed for their quest.

Setting the time for their departure to be the next day, the moved to get themselves ready for the battles to come.

Early the next morning the five had gathered before the tribe ready to leave, some of the residents stood aside watching them. From the looks in their eyes Arthor was sure they had heard of what they were up to, as his eyes continued to observe them he came to a stop as he locked eyes with Largetha.

She let out a huff before turning to leave, "Old bastards when we return they will learn never to doubt Arthor". Lothor piped up when he took notice of the looks the older generation were giving him, "aye that they will" Arthor spoke as he and his father exchanged looks once more.

A bit farther away a small settlement of free folk were seated close to one another feasting on some rabbits they had caught some days before. They were not exactly a tribe but rather a group of friends and families who had gathered and decided to sail down to Skagos.

They had left their original tribe which was under attack by the wolf fang tribe, but during the winter no one was willing to accept them up north and rather attacked them. Left with no other options and not willing to attempt to scale the wall they had decided to come to Skagos.

A decision they soon realized was a mistake, they refused to kneel to some stupid lord. Which meant they had to fight for their place amongst the Skagossi tribes, they were completely outnumbered and to make matters worse the Skagossi had what could only be described as monstrous strength making your average skagossi adult male to be as strong as at least five men.

Soon they were pushed to this state with no where left to go, they knew once winter ended things would be easier and they could attempt to look for the other free folk on Skagos once more but that alone sounded like an impossible task.

Errok the main scout for their group suddenly stopped and looked to one side before turning to the others and making a sign which they were all familiar with, enemy attack.

Ronell who was observing all this through the eye of Spakr, spoke up "they know we are here". The others all readied their weapons when they head him speak, "how?" Meha questioned as she readied her sword and shield, "one of them apparently has good senses" Ronell's eyes returned to normal as he readied his new bow.

Harwood knew he couldn't stop his sons from leaving but he would be damned if he was going to let them leave without arming them with the best weapons they had, Ronel's bow was made with maple wood with its string made from unicorn hair.

"Alright, remember the plan try to avoid killing them if you can" Arthor spoke up, "that's no fun" Lothor complained when he heard Arthor's words, "don't worry Lothor you'll have your fill of blood real soon" Arthor said as they charged in forsaking stealth.

They rushed with the two shield bearers before the rest, as they continued their charge, Ronell quickly stopped and rise his bow quickly taking an arrow from his quiver at his side and firing it above. A scream was soon heard as one of the free folk fell from a tree with an arrow firmly in place in his shoulder, two arrows headed straight for Ronell in retaliation but Benjen and Meha were quick in moving to protect Ronell.

*Shwip* Thuck* the sound of the arrows as they went straight into the shield's, the rapid continuous fire forced them to hold their positions leaving the front wide open for the remaining free folk who charged in with a war cry.

"Argh!" Lothor responded with a cry of his own as sped up to meet their charge with Arthor closely behind.
