Chase Him Away

The shop assistant's head was only filled with Mr Shen's thoughts. She knew she had messed up and had even dragged him in this all. Her brain this time was fast enough to understand the outcome of Mr Shen.

What would he do to her if he got to know that it was because of her he was caught? The state of mind of hers was in chaos leading her to not grasp anything happening in surrounding.

Jiang Ying Yue waited patiently for her to come out of her mind zone but even minutes later when she was still behaving the same, she just decided to bring her out by herself.

"About Mr Shen, I would like to inform you that he wouldn't be the head of interviewing department anymore, let alone the director of this mall."

"Director Zhang, we have already called the cops and I will be leaving the rest of the matter in your hands to take care of."

Director Zhang was holding his breath the whole time and was dumbstricken with how things went. Finally breathing a sigh of relief, he spoke, "Young Madam Lin, I can take it from here. You don't have to waste any more of your time here."

Giving him a gentle nod, she said, "Ok then. I will leave this matter to you and since you are the director of this mall, decisions would be left to you. Just notify me about the results."

By the time they left the kids section, it was past lunchtime and Jiang Ying Yue was already very late for her meeting. She had almost forgotten about her get-together and now was scared to death while running up the stairs to reach the fifth floor of the mall.

How could she forget about the meeting? She was really dead today!!!

And why were there so many stairs to climb!?!

While jogging behind her, Qin Zihao watched her back, "Miss Jiang, why are we running now? Can't we go slower? It's not like we need to catch the shops before they could run away." By the end, he was the only one to laugh at his own joke.

It wasn't funny to you? So what, it was funny to me at least.

Jiang Ying Yue felt a bit jealous listening to his normal voice as if he was still walking, while here, she was huffing and puffing, "Because...because am late for my date!"

All of a sudden, Qin Zihao stopped running and watched at the back which seemed to be going far from his sight in shock.

Did she just say that she was late for...a date?

Instantly running at his full speed, he reached her within five seconds and threw a series of questions at her, "Did you just say a date? You do know that you are married, right? How can you go on a date? Wait for a second, most important of it all, is it a man or woman? If it's a woman then it's fine but if it's a man, I have to get prepared."

Tossing him a disdained look, she asked in a weird tone while still running, "Prepare for what?"

"Obviously, to chase him away!!!" Qin Zihao's spirit had suddenly lifted as if he got a new mission.

That was the main purpose of him being her bodyguard. If the boss got to know that he had let some other men come near her in his absence...he was a lump of dead meat.

Jiang Ying Yue was left speechless.

Ignoring him, she just focused on running up the stairs as fast as she could when she heard his voice again, "By the way, why aren't we using a lift instead of running up these stairs?"

"Can't you see the crowd in front of the lift?"

"Oh, you are right."

"But you do know that you can use the VIP lift, right?" he asked scrupulously.

Jiang Ying Yue immediately paused on her steps, after a second she smoothly remarked, "Nevermind."

He did know about her childhood trauma of escalators but he was not understanding why couldn't they just use the VIP lift. Turned out, she was not...aware of it.

Qin Zihao gave out a tired sigh. It would have been much good if they were running for real, but looking at Jiang Ying Yue's slow steps...

Finally reaching the fifth floor, Jiang Ying Yue bent over putting her hands on her knees, panting hard whereas Qin Zihao casually found a wall to lean upon, waiting for her to calm down.

She had been physically inactive for three years and her body had declined to a great extent.

No one would believe, she was the one to win the 5000 metres marathon in three hours in university, breaking the previous record! She needs to start exercising again! She can't go on like this!!

It was frustrating to her seeing how Qin Zihao still looked the same whilst her face was all sweaty with her hairs sticking all over her red face.

Getting her breath back after a couple of minutes, she stood up and started finding the person for whom she ran all the way here. So what if she was late, Karma already hit her by making all the nerves of her body that had been sleeping for years now ache.

Because this floor was all about women, the crowd was doing complete justice to it by making it hard to force out their way through between the ladies and the bags they were carrying.

Even after searching half of the floor, Jiang Ying Yue did not even find the sight of the person she came here for and wondered if the floor she had entered was even the right one or not.

But that can't be. She remembered it clearly that it was the women's floor and there was only one in this mall.

Just when she was about to enter a shop to check, she sensed expeditious movement but before she could even make a move, a swift thud was heard behind her.

Turning around she found Qin Zihao as well as the person she was looking for...both on the floor.

Jiang Ying Yue blinked at them while both the parties on the floor stared at each other and then at Jiang Ying Yue awkwardly.

"You guys...what are you doing on the floor?" Even though Jiang Ying Yue had already pretty much guessed looking at how they were sprawled on the surface in a deadlock, she still felt it was more convenient to ask.

Qin Zihao stared at the very beautiful girl with whom he was lying on the floor sharply whereas she just gave him a strange look.

"I don't know, ask this boy who was following you. Just when I was about to pat your shoulder, he grabbed my wrist and twisted it behind my back."

"Well...I thought you were some creep with the way you were sneaking. That's not even my fault!!! But look at you, who should be contributed for leading us to fall by swiftly turning our positions!" Qin Zihao countered.

"You wouldn't have expected that I would know a black belt, right? It's alright, not your fault. It's quite rare for beauties like me nowadays to know black belt" she smirked as she got out of the deadlock and stood up.

Qin Zihao was speechless at her shamelessness.

"Jiang Ying Yue, who is this little boy?" The beautiful girl with shoulder-length dark brown hair asked with her flirty eyes.

"I am Qin Zihao, her bodyguard but more like her brother." Before Jiang Ying Yue could even say something, he spoke while gritting his teeth.

Who the hell did she think she was to call him a little boy!!!!?

"Oh little boy, so you are her bodyguard. In that case, I will forgive you for grabbing my hand. By the way, I am Zhou Jingyi, her one and only best friend." Zhou Jingyi teased him while flipping her hair back before proceeding her hand forward to him.

Qin Zihao glanced at her hand disinterestedly but still forwarded his hand for a shake. From the corners of his eyes, he noticed a particularly familiar red mark on her shoulder but ignored it when she pulled her hair in front.

"Do you even know how long I waited for you!!??? Where the heck were you girl?" Turning to Jiang Ying Yue, Zhou Jingyi had nothing but anger adorned on her face.

Zhou Jingyi had really been waiting for a long time. She was just about to go back when she noticed the person she had been waiting for since afternoon finally appearing.

If there was somebody whose anger scared Jiang Ying Yue the most, it was probably Zhou Jingyi's.

Ever since she was a kid, she did not have many friends due to her introversion and back when she first came to China, besides her cousins she was not close to anybody.
