Chapter 4. The Wall

Slowly walking back they reach the gorge. They spend seven days walking back which obviously too early for his promise with the captain. But it seem like the captain was not foolish at least he leave behind a boat.

"Tie this thing up and place the head somewhere where I won't be watching it gnarling and blinking" jesting about the bizarre adventure Edward row to the shadow tower.

"M'lord, are sure you want me to return to my duty?" The man ask nervously as he kept on watching the blinking head and the struggling body.

"Aye, it your duty, we also need more men now that the White Walkers have emerge. This is your time to protect your family. If the Wall falls then the world will be fall in the entirety of darkness and cold. Beside, it better than the block" shaking his head Edward sigh.

"Don't worry though. Our ancestors beat the Night King and army of death back then, why can't we. There must be some weapon that kills the death I need to focus on that" Pacifying the shaken deserter Edward continue to row.

Winterfell.

Eddard Stark was sharpening Ice under the Godwood thinking about something.

"It been years and I still felt like an outsider whenever I came here" Catelyn said while walking to Eddard.

"What you saying? You're the mother of the North pup" Smiling at his wife Eddard answered.

"Aye, the Mother of the North" imitating Edward voice she jokes.

"Don't take it to heart. You saw him, he cares for his family even though he felt repulse at first but now he started to open up with you"

"For our children not entirely to me. He still hate me when you also introduce the Seven Gods as your gift to me"

"Aye, you can't fault him with that. He hated religious use in politics quoting "What types of gods asking money from poor fellows" that why he didn't want it here"

"But it to help the church" Catelyn retort the quote.

"Enough of that. Tell me what in your hand?"

"Oh, yes this, well...um how do I say...Jon....Jon Arryn is death" remembering her purpose of visit she tries to find a light words to bare the message.

"Ho.. how?" Looking at his wife eyes Ned felt sad to his father figure.

"It fever. The King have match to Winterfell as we talks"

Edward and deserter have been walking for a weeks and finally reach the Shadow Tower.

"Who goes there?" A man shouted from the tower.

"Edward Stark, Lord of The Moat and defender of The Neck!" Shouting with a tired voice Edward lean in his knees.

The gate open as some men in black walks out. "Sorry, m'lord. What can we help you with?"

"I need two horses and a sack. I need to ride to Castle black asap"

"It will be done"

Riding all the way to castle black without stopping they reach it in just four days.

"Who's in charge of the Wall" dismounting he shouted.

"Aye, that would be me" a tall man step forward and introduce himself. "Joer Mormont, lord commander of the Keep"

"Aye, Ser. I bring news from beyond the wall. Well tragic news to be exact" he said while calling the deserter forward with the sack. All the guards react immediately when they saw the deserter.

"Calm down everyone" he look around the people who immediately stay their hand but still clenching them. "As you see, your brother here and I return back to beyond the wall to confirm his claim of sighting a white walker"

"What cunt? He desert. He's an oath breaker" "he's delusional" many suddenly scream cussing him.

"Let me finish or I'll start disciplining all of you AGAIN" the brothers immediately stopped shouting and step back looking at the Mad Wolf.

"So, as I was saying. I took him back beyond the wall from the gorge to verify his claimed and guess what I saw?" Taking it as his lead he walks over and pour out the sack content

All the men step back and gasped feeling surprised and shock beyond words. They watch as the separate head still blinking with blue eyes and snarling around with the body struggling to break free.

"Let me introduce the Wall real purpose, the White Walkers. Please we need you all to be on the lookout and start taking this job more seriously. I will report the news.."

"Brother!! What you doing here!!!" He was suddenly interrupted by someone. Turning his head he suddenly smile and bear hug his little brother. "Ah, my good Benny. Glad your here. I was just introducing the white walker to your brothers"

"As I said.." "you what!!!" At that Benjen saw the blinking blue eyes and also felt scared.

Feeling distress for being disturb again he just came to the point. "Okay, Lord commander, Ser Joer Mormont. I need you to ask the Maester where are the available metal deposit. While asking that please check every knife made from different metals to stab this thing. Well Valyrian steel can kill it I know for sure but that rare so we need what other metal that can kill it. Also don't let the lords knows about it. I will do that part"

"But brother" Ben seem to want to say something but Ed stop him. "Ben, I need you to help Lord Commander and when you get the answer ride to me and I will provide the steel with enough men. Have Faith. Our ancestors beat them why can't we?"

"Yes, why can't we beat them too!?" the brothers cheer at that eliminating their previous worry albeit a little.

Riding back, Edward suddenly saw a Direwolf limbing to a cave. He silently follow it and saw that it was young about 5 months but it already big for it size about thigh high. Laying beside a grey scaly stone the pup licks it wounds. Looking closer he saw that the young pup was injured badly. When he saw the pup fall asleep he immediately walks over and started to close it wounds with snows burying it body. The wolf didn't felt anything and felt asleep.

Spending another weeks beside the pup who became it companion naming it Black Wall. He also found out what stone the pup lay beside it was a stoned dragon eggs but it was beautiful so he take it with him as his souvenir.

"Alright, Black wall. I heard the King will reach Winterfell for three more days" Edward talk to his Direwolf walking beside him reaching his belly button

The beast was black in color and tall like a wall. "What said you we return to Winterfell? We need to receive the King at Winterfell as I seem to miss him at Moat Cailin from what I saw through Coal" talking about his warg ability and the snowy owl.
