Dragonstone

Aerion Targaryen

----

Crouching as I look at the small toddler with silver short hair and mismatched eyes, one blue and one green. This one is an important person according to Daenerys, she had heard the 'realm bled because men loved her' or something dramatic like that. But right now she is my little half-sister who my father left here.

Problems struck our family, kidnapping problems.

Some random bastards were getting snatched and my dad panicked when his spymaster learned they were being used in some kind of magic sacrifice or some crap. Mages the world over have heard of the revival of dragons and for some reason need a lot of dragon blood. My dad does not care about random bastards but the bastards of his mistresses who he somewhat cares about have all been put under 'protection'.

Some were dropped off her on Dragonstone, a deal was made between him and my mom and she couldn't be happier. He will stop trying to kill her by putting her on a birthing bed if she doesn't make a fuss over his illegitimate children living with her trueborn. She agreed and now Dragonstone is home to a variety of young padawans who are subjected to my expert teaching skills.

My brother the official crown prince and titled prince of Dragonstone left it up to my mom to decide. He steered clear of the whole situation and left it to them to hash out between the two of them. I always thought he was a kind man but that does not really extend to anyone who is not family or at least a lord from what I have seen. But any family he is kind to and Danny let me know it is the reason for the 'Blackfyre rebellions' that crippled our House.

Shaking my head I get back to staring into the eyes of 'Shiera Waters' who apparently will go by Shiera Seastar in the future. She does not strike me as someone who will pull the kingdom around by her pinky by stringing along lovers. The most notable are two of my half-brothers who I have no real opinion of as they are not here. Being protected by their own people, the mother's side and I think it is likely for a reason. In my own mind if you knew dragons were coming back and you had a 'dragon see' you would keep it and not let it get raised by someone else.

They will likely instill a sense of loyalty to their own houses and ensure the kids will help out their maternal houses if they manage to snag a fire-breathing lizard.

"You smell." She sniffs me and then scrunches up her nose as her eyes glare at me.

"I was feeding my dragon, got to get used to gore or I will throw up a lot later. It is best to get desensitized to it now before I get scared and let my fear control me." She has no clue what I am talking about by her brows raising to her hairline.

I look around the room to make sure no one is watching as I don't want anyone to think I am crazy.

""Dragon hungry, I give food, food makes me smell."" Her eyebrows lower and she nods understandingly.

I shake my head, common tongue turned out to be English but Valyrian is some alien mumbo jumbo I had to learn from scratch. For some reason, it was pretty easy to pick up though, got to do with being a child as I couldn't learn Spanish to save my life before I got sent here. But Shiera has been learning both and it is a problem for her future.

The caretaker she has speaks common tongue so Shiera hears it a lot but the Maester on Dragonstone teaches all kids Valyrian as custom. So she is pulled two ways and likely thinks both are a single language and it is going to screw her later on.

I rub her silver-haired head and she pushes against it like a cat amusing me before I stand to go wash up. I will never be ok with the lack of showers as I always took showers, baths don't feel right but it's better than being a peasant and bathing in a creek or river.

""See you later, Shiera."" She nods sadly and grips her small dress as I stand and turn to the door.

I would stay longer and entertain her by reading a book or something but I actually do smell and only stopped when I saw her in the corner of my eye. I will bring her some pancakes, later on, to make up for it and maybe even give her some of my valuable honey.

Damn honey is expensive in this world and no one likes to buy it for me so I threaten to fly off and harvest it myself. That gets me some but the effect will wear off unless I actually do it at least once someday.

I groan on the way to get a servant to draw me a bath when I spot my 'aunt'.

Rhaena Targaryen, she was going to become a Septa or some shit but decided against it for some reason. She is still very preachy and it grates on my nerves, the faith of the seven makes little to no sense, and it's not like I can say something at my young age. The faith might send an assassin or something if they hear a dragon rider prince is bad-talking their religion, the fear of Maegor is etched in their bones.

As it should be.

The faith tried to use the Targaryen's united kingdoms as a platform to seize power and make it their own in a crazy bid for power. They spread no lies as they called my House out for incest and other problems, but magic in our blood helps a lot with most of the incest problems. I mean there is no real documentation done on birth defects of Targaryens that live, stillborns can be born 'monstrous' apparently but when born alive we are beyond beautiful.

It is almost freaky how good we look, it's like we are fake compared to others around us. Even my Dornish-tinted nephews look far and above any normal person and it's their Valyrian heritage shining through.

"Hello Aerion, how are you doing?" Rhaena blocks my way and folds her hands as she smiles down at me.

I need to stop thinking about how attractive my blood relatives are, this will cause me problems down the line if I don't. Looking up at my fat-chested aunt I shake my head as I imagine how disappointed my old mother would be in me.

"I need to clean up, I got dirty bring a sheep over to the dragons." She takes an experimental sniff of the air and scrunches her nose.

"You do smell a bit like smoke and burnt meat, come on I will help you out." I root into the ground as she turns to lead me off.

She gets a few steps away before looking back and frowning.

"I can manage on my own." I speak in my very manly five-year-old voice, she does not buy it.

"I will help you Aerion, what would your mom say if you slipped and bust your head open?" I snort and cross my arms.

"Skill issue." She sighs and I smirk in victory as she walks toward me and I assume to pass me but once beside me her hands fly out and snatch me up.

I blink in confusion as I could have easily dodged but for some reason, my body decided to ignore my brain.

I look over at her face and see a pleased smile and grit my teeth, no man wants to be washed when he is underdeveloped!

----

"Your hair is so soft." She runs her fingertips on my scalp as she washes my silver hair and I sit cross-legged in the tub.

Throwing a fit would only make me look childish at this point, it's better to suck it up and push on. We will both forget all about this in the future and it will be one of thousands of things never to be brought up again.

"I want to spike my hair but it's too long, mom doesn't like it cut either and had me hung upside down when I tried to cut it on my own." An odd form of punishment but she was panicked when I was caught with some sheep sheers and going at my hair like a madman.

"Spiked?" I nod and take both my hands and pull up my hair in a spiked style but when I let go it all falls because it's too long. No hair product in sight so no way to make it work with the magic of processed chemicals either. "I see." She pours the warm water down my back and pats my shoulder.

I step out of the tub and grab a towel and pat myself dry before slipping on some clean clothes, Rhaena is at the door talking with someone so I take a seat and slide my boots back on.

----

Looking into the clear mirror that likely cost a small fortune I look at my spiked hair and smile. I always did like spike hair when I was younger as it fits the 'aesthetic' and with silver hair, it is even better.

"Thanks." I jump up from the seat and see Rhaena smile and wave it off.

"It was no problem, I was feeling bored and looking for anything to do." I nod and make my way out of the room before she can trick me into something else.

My twin jumps up into the chair next to me and peers at what I am reading before losing interest. I look at his cut hair and wonder how he managed that this time.

Mother will be furious if her cut it with the sheep shears again.

"Want to try to learn the drums again?" I turn my head away from him as I know he just wants to drag me off because he is bored. "Come on I think you would be good at the drums if you didn't give up so fast." I glare at him over my shoulder and he smirks having gotten my attention.

"I didn't quit I just didn't like the way you wanted me to play the drums." He nods and then snaps his fingers.

"How about you sing this time and I play the drums." I stop from turning around as I remember my brother Rhaegar from my last life.

He apparently was good with his harp and could sing very well, could I also sing well if I tried?

I look into my twin's eyes and give a nod and his grin grows massive.

"I got the perfect song lets go!" He jumps up and I carefully close my book before following after him.
