Self control

"l am very proud of you". Andreas stroked Lilith's loose hair as he spoke. "l had no doubts you would pass the test with distinctions".

"Yes l passed the test of courage but..." she looked up at him to meet his eyes.

"But what?" he asked her as he cupped her face. Even though it was dark, the light of the moon that had it's way through the window into her room illuminated it, making him able to see her face clearly.

"lt's my emotions" she breathed.

"What about them?"

" l made an 'A' in all other bars but got a 'B' in my emotional mastery". She looked away from him disappointed at her own self.

"And why is that?" he traced her jaw line as he spoke.

"lt's Nexine" at the mention of his name, Andrea's face turned sour. "What mayhem did he cause this time?"

"He had adopted Rain during the test and l have no idea why but l honestly believed it was because of me so l felt this hurt within me that Rain was in danger because of me. I lost hold of my emotions, believing l brought that upon her. If not for that unexplainable act of his, l, Rain and Florate..." she was still talking when he interrupted her with a question she would have avoided by being more informative. " Who is Florate?" he furrowed.

" Oh he is a friend of Rain and l, he is a really cool person and he has this thing with Rain" she rolled her eyes.

"What thing?" Andreas was still curious, he wanted to know for sure how Rain was acquainted with Florate and why Lilith considered him a friend.

"Well... em... I can't say for sure but Florate likes Rain a lot and Rain seems to reciprocate the feelings or maybe not, l don't know".

"So you mean to say that you consider him a friend because he likes Rain? Are you sure he is someone you can trust? I mean l don't want what happened with you and Nexine to repeat itself with Rain, you and that Florate. He might be an enemy you know" he said sensibly with worry echoing in his voice.

"Trust me Andreas Florate is a good person, and l believe we can trust him. Oh you should have seen the look on his face when he came to inform me that Rain was adopted. He really cares about her, l wish someone could care about me that way" she pouted her lips.

Andreas understood she was joking and decided to play along. "Me too Lilith. No one cares about the both of us. Hmph" he sighed deeply. "But since no one cares about us, we get to do anything we like" he smiled mischievously.

Lilith bit her lower lip. "Like...?"

"You know things people who are not cared for do. For example..." he drew his face closer to hers and woke sleeping face skin with his hot breathe making her to involuntarily close her eyes. He drew a bit closer and their noses felt the tip of each other. He could already hear the sound of her beat, it was very loud and he could tell it was because of how close there where to each other now. She might have been bold in their first kiss but that was a mistake in his own part. She unlock the door for him and he was not planning on getting back into the cage he put himself in. He knew she was still young and was very naive but that doesn't mean she didn't love him, he could feel it and he certainly loved her too.

He looked at her face again, how very innocent it looked. Her purple eyes were under her closed lids and her hair rested peacefully on her shoulders as she brought her face closer to his. He smiled within him and gave her a peck on her lips after which she fluttered her eyes open.

"Now that is how people who are not cared for act" he said to her when he saw she had opened her eyes.

"If l say that l know you care about me, will that make you give me a real kiss?" she asked glaring directly into his multicolored eyes. They looked so beautiful in the dark and the way he was looking back at her made her heart skip a beat or two...

"No" he answered bluntly. Yes he wanted to kiss her right now in the most intense way possible but he knew he might snap out of self control if he dares that now with how. Mostly because of how sexy she looked when she bit her lips earlier. He did not want to do something they would both regret later on.

"Why?" she asked, almost pleading.

"Lilith l am not human, and l have a very poor level of self control. You should not have bitten your lip as you did earlier, that really got me and if l do what you want me to do, l will not stop there". He ended with a scary tone hoping she would get frightened and just continue with what she was saying and she did.

"l am sorry l pushed that far" she quickly apologized.

"lt is ok, so long as you don't do that again". He pinched her cheeks a bit. "l care about you Lilith".

"l know you do" she smiled at him. "So as l was saying..." she returned back to her story. "Rain, Florate and l would have gotten 'A's in our bars of emotional mastery if Nexine had not tampered with all our emotions by adopting Rain. He made her feel like no one could protect, like we all abandoned her and it made Florate go crazy about not being able to protect her. He thought maybe Nexine had done something bad to her, and so did l. He really had us wrapped round his finger right there" she ended with a sad sigh.

"l knew that Nex would cause trouble in the test, but it's all over now. He lost, and your team got the reward. You don't need to bother yourself anymore about it ok. It will only make him happy that your are still down from what happened at the test"

"You are right, we won and l should not let him get under my nerves" she agreed with a determined resolve.

"That's my girl, now sleep. Tomorrow is your big day, l really wish l can be there but l need to attend to something tomorrow".

"What's that" she asked with bright eyes. "Are you going to Gorgor?"

"No l am not but l am leaving Triven for sure"

"When are you going to take me to Gorgor?" she asked again.

"Never Lilith" he shunned. "l am never taking to Gorgor. Everything there has crumbled into pieces. Don't ever ask me to take you there, it's not somewhere you would like to go".

"OK" Lilith exhaled. She knew there was no point arguing as Andreas would never change his mind. But maybe he would when she gets older.

"Good night Andreas"...
