Light mutant

Lilith had been staring at her reflection in the mirror for quite some time now. She had retired to her room since early that evening only to find it empty till now. Andreas was no where to be found and she was starting to get worried. She has even skipped dinner just to wait for him but he was out of sight. "Where could he be?" she wondered with her eyes still focused on her reflection. She wasn't really looking at any thing in particular, nor was she admiring herself. She was only too bored and settled to look at herself.

"OK that's it". She gave up on looking at herself in the mirror and stood up from where she sat. She walked to her window and looked outside to behold the beautiful night sky, so peaceful. She rolled her eyes round the serene environment to find that it wasn't so peaceful anyway. She spotted about three people down the training arena which was totally normal because every time here was training time. The grounds and training equipments were open to all 24/7. She stood there watching them for some time and it seem like they were combating against each other. She relaxed and leaned on her window as she watched them fight each other. She studied each of their moves and realized they were using some kind of super abilities. She saw vididly as one of them flung the other against the hard training floor and another create a force field round him that absorbed all the energy from the attacks he was receiving and gave it all out in a powerful blast when he had absorbed enough. "What was that?" she asked herself. "Could it be their mutant powers?" she wondered. She thought it to be really cool and wished she could get to use hers too. She just had this hunch that it would be very cool, just like she was.

She kept watching them while she waited for Andreas. They trained for long minutes before they called it a day and retired to their rooms. She sighed deeply as they could no longer entertain her anymore. With a sad face, she turned to her bed to meet it still empty. "Where are you Andreas?" she asked herself again. She had a lot to talk to him about but it seems that won't be feasible tonight anymore. He wasn't going to visit her tonight and she knew it for sure this time. She wanted to go to sleep now but she thought it best that she trained a bit before sleeping. With that in mind, she went straight to her wardrobe and and took out her spare gi, not the ones they wore to formal classes. She filled her water bottle and left her room, locked.

She walked quietly down the hall and stairs in order not to wake any one up. She made her way straight to the training ground and decided to train with in the punch mitts section. She went straight to the BOB and began action immediately. She hit it with every strength she could muster within her little hard fists, breathing very hard as beads of sweat formed on her forehead already.

She kept up with the punches for few minutes more before she decided to take a break. She grabbed her water bottle and gulped the water in it slowly. She was still drinking the water when she heard voices not too far away from the training ground and it got her attention immediately. She was sure it was either few minutes to midnight or midnight already. Who then were discussing out here by this time.

She followed the sound of the voices and found the people speaking. They stood close to the great Saphire fountain and talked loudly like they were sure the were not been heard. She drew closer and it seemed like they were in a heated argument but she still couldn't see their faces because it was dark and the lights around were not bright enough but just to make sure the school does not run out of colors during night time.

"Hey!" she called to them when she got close enough that they could hear her. "What are you guys doing out here and why are you disturbing the peace of the school?" she asked boldly but received no reply except that one of them opted to walk closer to her but the other held him back. "She must be sleep walking" he stated but it was clear in the sound of his voice that he was lying. "Don't cause a scene" he warned.

Wait! That voice, she knew it very well. "Andreas? Is that really you?" she called hoping it was really him but that seemed like it was a really bad idea.

"Magnificent! so it really is true" the other drew closer her at the utterance of each word.

"Father, it is not what you think" he tried to intervene but the man already believes what he just affirmed and was not ready to give up on it.

"Andreas it really is you" she cried with joy as she ran and gave him a rib cracking hug. "l missed you so much. Where have you been? I stayed up till now, waiting for you. But it's good you are here now let's go to my room, l have a lot I need to tell you" she held his hand, waiting for him to lead the way to her room but he stood there stone cold, unmoving.

"So lord Varnaak really was right, this Trivenian is really gifted" the other man made to touch her face but she slapped his hand off her forcefully. "Who are you?" she asked boldly, standing directly before Andreas to shield him from any attack the man might direct his way.

"Bold!" he applauded and even if she could not see his face clearly, she was sure he was be giving her a dirty smile now.

"I asked a question mister. Who are you and what do you want?" she repeated herself, this time clenching her fists and being ready for any thing.

"l am king Radius of Gorgor" he answered finally. "I can see you are greatly acquainted with my son. Very delightful".

"Thank you king Radius. I am Lilith Amnell nice to finally meet you" she answered boldly, not wanting to get intimidated by the king of Gorgor himself. What was he doing here and why was he arguing with his son Andreas.

"The feeling is mutual Lilith Anmell " he studied the name for some time and believed it sounded very familiar. He was sure she must be an offspring of one of the Trivenian Rangers he hunted down but which one exactly.

"That's enough for the introductions" Andreas interrupted his focus on his thoughts. "Let's go inside Lilith" he pulled her by the arm and dragged her out of his father's presence, but suddenly, king Radius grabbed her by the arm forcefully and pulled her to himself again but she pulled her arm away from his hold and prepared herself to fight him immediately if the need arises.

"You have extreme levels of energy inside you, even when you have not been mutated" he said after she pulled her arm out of his hold forcefully. "You really are worth my attention Lilith" he made to touch her face again but this time she flinched instead of slapping his hand off like she did before.

"Just leave her be father" Andreas said.

"No son" he insisted. "I must take her to Gorgor, I need to check something, just to be sure"

"I do appreciate the free tour King Radius but l would like to reject it. It is late and I need rest, a lot of it" She answered him.

"No one refuses an other from the king" he wore a deep frown. "Please father, just leave her alone" Andreas pleaded again but it all fell on deaf ears as the king made an attempt to grab Lilith again but this time she did better than to pull her hand from his hold. She twisted his arm with her and gave him a hard kick on the face which he doged gave her a hard slap on the face making her fall to the floor almost unconscious.

"You are no match for me young Lilith when it comes to fighting skills" he smirked. "Kindly follow me to Gorgor and I will bring you back in no time, I promise".

"No father!" Andreas yelled from where he stood, in the water beneath the fountain. He knew his father's weakness very well, and that was ice. He loved light and heat, and despised cold and dark which was same with him but in a specific way, so he was going to use the fountain against him if he didn't let Lilith go peacefully.

"You seriously are not going to hurt your father because of this Trivenian" he scoffed at his naive acts.

"She is not just any Trivenian father. She is the Trivenian l love, so let her go. She will never go with you to that waste land you call a world".

"So you are giving up your people and place for this Trivenian? You are even willing to kill me for her sake. You are unbearablely naive. But mind, you if she turns out to be the one I am looking for, then l will kill you if l must to have her light up my world again" he gave him a hard glare before leaving them alone.

Andreas heaved a sighed of relief

immediately he left. He scooped Lilith into his arms and carried her to her room. As he took her in only had one desire in mind, that she doesn't turn out to be the one person his father was looking for, the light mutant...
