"Rain?"

Nexine called softly as she opened her eyes slowly. "How are you feeling?" he asked her with a lot of care rested in his voice.

"Florate?" she called softly still blinking her eyes to adjust to the bright light.

Rain was still gaining her consciousness and still did not recognize the voice fully but even though, her asking of Florate got Nex angry, but he decided to keep his cool.

" No Rain. It is me Nexine" he brought his face closer to her and looked into her ocean blue eyes as they fluttered open and close like the wings of a butterfly.

"Nexine?" she now knew the voice belonged to and remembered why it wasn't Florate who she woke up to meet.

"Yes it's me" he focused his sight still on her eyes as she now left them open, receiving the warmth his black orbs gifted her blue ones.

"You are here"

"Of course I am, I just could not let you stay on your own after what happened. So, I am here and I am not leaving any time soon".

She inhaled sharply before speaking again. "Thank you so much Nex". She might be appreciative of his presence here, but their closure together now was not something she like so much. He had her pinned on the bed with his face and any upward movement she made now would lock their lips in a kiss or at least make them brush against each other and she was sure she would like that feeling at all.

She may be mad at Florate but that doesn't mean her love for him died down. She was still very much in love with him and would not want to start any thing funny with any other person especially not Nexine. No. That was never happening.

"I am really happy you chose to stay with me rather than at least take a rest since after the combat". She was now feeling very uncomfortable. She could feel his hot breath against her jaw and cleavage. Not sure what to do to make him withdraw himself, she breathed heavily hoping her exhalation would make him draw back but she was wrong. He inhaled her breath and smiled it scent which hot her really alarmed. He was really not going to move away from her, was he? What was she supposed to do now. He still had his eyes focused on her and that got her captured and she could no longer avert her gaze like she was under a spell or something.

Suddenly, he neared himself the move and the tips of their noses touched each other while his lips drew closer to hers. Why was she not doing anything? Was she going to let him kiss her? Just like that? No! She wasn't. She definitely wasn't.

He was about to lock his lips with hers and at the very last moment before their lips met each other, she finally freed her self from his captivating gaze and turned away.

But even after that, Nexine did not give up. He followed the movement of her face to get the kiss by will but was interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Who is there?" he pulled away from her finally with an angry frown while Rain only heaved a sigh of relief, thanking who ever it was that was at the door.

The door creaked slowly and Lilith walked in slowly with a very sad expression on her face.

"And what are you doing here?"

"I am not here to see you Nexine. I am only here for Rain" she said calmly.

"After what you did yesterday?" he scoffed. "Oh please Lilith. You know very well that would never want to see you again, ever".

Lilith ignored Nexine and turned to Rain. She could not near her because Nex would not let her and she was not in the mood to cause a fight and she was sure she could hear her.

"Rain" she called softly while Rain sat up.

"I need to talk to you in private" she said to her with her eyes pleading that she would accept.

"You want to speak to her in private" Nexine shook his head in disapproval. "No Lilith. That is never happening. Do you want to finish her up with another emotional trauma? Don't you see you and Florate have caused her enough tears already? What other mayhem do you want to commit this time?"

"Stay out of this Nexine" Lilith gave him a death stare. "Lilith is my best friend and she definitely is nothing to you. So mind your own business and leave us alone".

"Leave you alone?" he stood directly before her now. "Of course not Lilith. I will never leave you alone with her" he pointed at Rain. "She definitely deserves no more of your lies and deceit".

"Lies and deceit you say? If there is anyone here who deserves the name a liar and a deceiver, it is none other than you Nexine" she pointed her index finger right into his chest now too angered to keep her cool. Why was he trying to separate them from Rain? Why was he trying to lead her astray, she just could not understand but she definitely not going to let that happen.

Rain adjusted the pillow under her neck before finally speaking. She was already tired of the exchange of words and would like some peace and quite. As much as she wanted Lilith to leave her sight, she could not bear being alone with Nexine for another second. He might rape her this time judging from what happened earlier and she does not want to take that chance so she would rather prefer that Lilith stays and Nexine leaves. At least she could bear to ignore Lilith but Nexine is definitely a hard nut to crack.

"Enough! Both of you!" she had to raise her voice a bit to stop their childish annoying chatter. "Lilith is staying Nex" she said simply. "You may leave now and thank you for your time".

"What?" Nex could not believe his ears. "Nut Rain..." he wanted to object but Rain cut him off.

"Please Nexine. Please"

At this, he only came close and kissed her forehead. He only did that to get in Lilith's toes and it worked well as she looked at him with so much disdain.

"I will return to see you later" he spoke to her affectionately and all she did was nod. He glared at Lilith in anger but did nothing funny. He simply respected Rain by leaving the room peacefully.

"What do you want backstabber?" Rain asked bluntly immediately Nex left.

"Listen to me. I and Florate would never do anything to hurt you intentionally, you have to forgive us Rain and let go of what ever hurt you are feeling in you right now because Florate needs your help" a tear dropped down her left cheek.
