6 Chapter Six: The Surprise Visit.

Alice was sleeping so peacefully when her phone rang which woke her up in an instant, she rushed to get to her phone but ended up falling from her king-size mattress to the floor hitting her butt flat & hard on the floor, she shrieked in pain and tried getting up as soon as she could to get her phone but the call has ended just right before she could get a hold of it.

Alice stood up, stretched her back, and did a little warm-up which afterward she took her phone to check who called. The number was unknown so she didn't bother to call back just before she could drop the phone back. It rang again and this time she did pick up on time.

"Hey, Good morning." Alice's eyes widened as soon as she recognized the voice.

"Hey, hmm…. I need you to come over right away or let's say get ready for work and come over but you will have to put up a little show."Valentino was at the edge of it, he didn't know how to explain this to Alice.

"I don't understand yet how to fix the dates as you asked and just after what happened yesterday, do you still have to call me this early? what's going on, this was not the deal."Alice couldn't help but burst out of her mind. it was just way too much for someone who had only signed a contract with her just yesterday and with this much stress "No it's not happening"Alice yelled in her brain.

"It's just an emergency, ok here is the thing MY MOM IS HERE…!!! "

"What.? Wait I don't… why is she… no when did she arrive.?"Alice couldn't get her head around what was going on but she had to take things easy cause she has gone through worst situations, so she will scale through like she has always been doing.

"She came in this morning right before I was ready to leave for work and she demanded to see you, so I informed her you stepped out for a while to get something, so she's waiting."Valentino was done with his explanation and had been known for his solemnity and well-behaved personnel Alice knew presently that he was dead serious so couldn't help it. her face up

"I'll be there in ten"Alice jumped into the bathroom, had a quick shower, and dashed out almost immediately. She wore a black hoodie that looks more perfect for an early morning walk, robbed her facial cream, scanned herself in the mirror, and realized that something was missing "My hair" Alice had to make her hair a bit messy for someone who still had early morning leftovers on her, And after that, she hit the road to Valentino's house.

Alice drove as fast as she could with her sporty BMW X5. The car was her baby. She couldn't afford to do without it. Alice got to a store where she parked and went in to buy something for the excuse of her whereabouts to look more convincing.

A few minutes later, Alice was already in Valentino's neighborhood, she had to pack a few miles away from the house to avoid any suspicions.

"Alice, how are you doing.?"Mrs. Frost could not even wait for Alice to fully access the house before running over to where she was and giving her a heartwarming hug which Alice returned the hug.

"Good morning, Mrs. Annabelle, how come you are already here.?" Alice said with a smile and pretended to be a bit stunned by the sudden visit while handing over the stuff she bought to one of the servants around.

"I was so overwhelmed last night that I could not wait to see you again and confirm one more time that you are my daughter-in-law. Just for me to get here and be informed by Valentino that you went out on a walk to get something but anyway you are here now so how was your night Darling.?" Mrs Annabelle expressed how much joy that grew in her as soon as she saw Alice again.

"Yeah, I took a little walk down the nearest store to get something And my night was great, I mean why won't it be after meeting a gorgeous and warm-hearted lady like you last night..!" Alice had her way of luring herself into people's hearts and minds, or let's just say it's part of her work, Right?

"That's so exciting to hear, I believe you have not had breakfast so why don't we eat together.?"Alice's stomach made a groan immediately Mrs. Annabelle mentioned breakfast, it reminded Alice that she was yet to have taken anything since early this morning she woke up, which made Mrs. Annabelle dash out with laughter. Alice felt a bit embarrassed but was thankful enough that it was just her and Mrs. Annabelle.

"Come on, let's go have breakfast." Mrs. Annabelle yelled at Alice who stood behind her still wailing over what had happened.

While all this was going on Valentino only sat at the dining table and wished for the two ladies to finish up fast with their clingy greetings and get settled already so he could get going to work.

"Baby, how was your night.?"Mrs. Annabelle now got to ask his son, who seems outside-minded from their discussion.

"It was cool.!''Valentino, not being a talkative type replied with his usual cold thick voice, which kept Alice wondering if his voice was just invariably this cold or Did something buzz for the impassivity? Anyways it's none of her business she thought to herself.

Breakfast was served and they digged in. Alice knew her job well and had to try feeding Valentino in front of Mrs. Annabelle who couldn't resist the smile that covered her lips. At first, Valentino felt a bit embarrassed but understanding the fact that this was part of the plan he had to try his best as well to look as loving as they could in the presence of his mom, though he felt so uncomfortable, he just had to give it a pursuit.

Valentino was ready to leave for work, he stood to his feet, kissed his mom on the cheek and his fiancee as well you know ironically, and headed out.

Meanwhile, Mrs.Annabella stayed back just to keep Alice company for the time being. Alice and her contracted mother-in-law chatted all through the day. They ate lunch together and chit-chatted more about the wedding preparations, which made Mrs. Annabelle conclude that his son was going to have an engagement party. She didn't say this to Alice, she just had a conclusion within herself and hoped to make it a surprise party for the both of them.

"I will be taking my leave now, I need to go and take care of some things that have got on my mind, so take care, darling."Mrs. Annabelle said as she stood up and advanced to the door.

"Mrs. Annabelle, I wish you could stay a bit protracted but it's fine just don't forget to visit whenever you can please..!"Alice had everything under her control so she acted exceptionally.

"It's fine darling I will "Mrs. Annabelle gave Alice a warm hug before she left the house. Alice waited for a few minutes just to be sure that Mrs. Annabelle was no longer on the panorama.

Alice hit the road on the cool sunset, since she loved the aura on the lonely street, she took it as an opportunity to drive a bit slower just to relish the ambiance. Soon enough she was out of the street, so she hurried to her safe place, HER RESIDENCE.

"Am sure you wrapped things up tightly and you didn't mess up.?''Valentino asked Alice with a cold and intimidating tone. This cut Alice off guards which made her end the call on a wink.

"F**k You, Valentino Frost..!"
