2 Chapter 2

Sitting on the bed, Grid began to review his memory in more detail, studying the personality and history of Severus.

This whole hour the smile did not leave his face, but it was not a cheerful one, instead a sad one.

"They brought the boy right to the death, and all because of the women..." Grid felt sorry for Severus, losing his mother, constantly being humiliated, being betrayed by the one he loved more than life, and in the end being defeated by his own spell, used by the enemy, as well as by a rival in love…

When he looked at all these moments, the Archmage felt only resentment… But these were not his emotions, but Severus's.

'Children, what children they are…' Grid thought with irritation, getting rid of all emotions and feelings that were also in the memory of the past owner of the body. He felt sorry for the guy, but he did not want to lose his individuality. After sometime he felt his eyes getting heavy and he fell asleep.

When Grid opened his eyes again, it was already twelve o'clock at night.

"It is already more than

midnight, the "inspection" was rather long, but still it's too much information, I'll have to slightly change the block setting so that the memories gradually flow to me," the magician thought with slight annoyance.

"And this world is very lousy, especially in terms of magic, how far behind it is ..." he took a dark wand from his sleeve and waved it with a nostalgic smile, "Guide ... I used it only when I studied magic, and even then for a week, so now I need to get rid of such a crutch as soon as possible or remake it for something more interesting ... And now,"

He closed his eyes, waved his wand and whispered barely audibly,

"KαθαρισμόςCool" air surrounded the mage's body.

[A/N: It's in ancient Greek.]

After a few seconds he opened his eyes and with a satisfied face touched his hair, sniffed his clothes and looked at his nails.

"It works," this was the basic spell in his world, which every self-respecting magician was required to know.

After all, it happened when he was too keen on studying a thing and he simply forgot what time was, and this spell came to the rescue, which instantly cleansed both clothes and body. This spell could be used not only on oneself, but also on one's surroundings, but one would have to spend more magic power when cleaning his surroundings.

"In that case, it would be easiest to use a spell from this world for now, and leave my own as a last resort…"

A bloodthirsty smile appeared on his face for a moment, he stretched out his hand and whispered barely audibly, "Μαύρη Φλόγα"

A black flame the size of a ping-pong ball lit up at the tip of his finger. "Here it is…" He gazed lovingly at the fireball.

This flame saved his life more than once, because he created this spell himself when he moved to the rank of Archmage, it contained all the knowledge and almost five years of continuous research. With this flame's help, he was once able to kill the Great Archmage - a being that no one would ever dare to offend, because it would not be difficult for him(Great Archmage) to destroy him.

"It's still too early to use it," he said with annoyance, putting out the flames, "Just ten seconds, and already such a huge load on the magic core"

He moved his hands, and all the objects closest to him soared, but only for a few seconds, and then slowly sank to the floor, "Telekinesis… Still, I was lucky with the body: for this world, he could be called a real genius. A talent for alchemy, a good "Master" level magic core, the ability to use, as it is called here, "wandless" magic, what else do you need? With a slight smile on his lips, he fell onto the bed.

"I want to live this life to the fullest, and in order not to get me, I must at least become strong enough that no one threatens me, and this should not be a difficult task. I think three years is enough, at the very least five ... "With these thoughts, he fell asleep.

In a dream, he saw smiling parents, his brother, friends, and the one he once loved… They all said goodbye to him and left towards the bright white light… And no matter how Grid ran after them, he could not catch up with them , but still, no matter how sad it was, it was finally time to say goodbye,

***

Waking up in the early morning, Grid looked at the time and got out of bed with a heavy sigh, while his tired smile never left his face. "And why are these classes so early?" Pulling the wand towards him and waving it, he felt the fatigue begin to leave his body.

"That's better," he waved his other hand towards the lying clothes, which flew up to him and hung in the air. And he quickly put on a shirt, long black trousers, a jacket of the same colour, and a black robe fell on his shoulders,

'What is the class now…?"'he thought for a moment, Severus' memories began to appear in his head, "Not a lesson, but an OWL ... Exams, I never liked exams ... " going to the cabinet on which there was a large mirror, he opened the first drawer and took out a sheet of paper, "So, only twelve exams, he has already passed ten with "Outstanding", I can immediately see a lover of reading, only Potions and Transfiguration are left," Grid nodded with a satisfied smile, "Potion is not a problem to pass, it is his favourite subject after all, but Transfiguration ... Although he is fluent in it, I should repeat and get used to this magic."

He rummaged through his closet, pulled out a book on transfiguration, and frowned slightly. "Where's the potions textbook...?" In the next moment, an image of a girl with long red hair, green eyes and a bright smile appeared in his head,

"Lily ... So you gave her the textbook ... Okay, I'll take it today, I don't want my spells to leak further."

Glancing at the time again, he put on his shoes and left the room, heading down the stairs to the faculty common room.

The drawing room of the faculty was tastefully furnished, the walls were hung with tapestries and paintings depicting the greatest magicians who graduated from this faculty.

Antique dark wood sideboards line the walls. Despite the presence of fireplaces, the room was cool and rather gloomy.

This room was illuminated by a pair of lamps, swamp green. The very educational institution where Severus studied was called Hogwarts, and it was the only one in the country.

In total, there were four houses in this place: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. A magical hat determines which house this or that wizard will fall into, according to his/her character traits.

Nobility and courage - Gryffindor House;

mind, sense of humor, wisdom - Ravenclaw;

perseverance, diligence and honesty - Hufflepuff;

cunning, lust for power, resourcefulness - Slytherin.

Severus himself was in Slytherin, where mostly the son and daughter of novel houses get sorted.

Looking around the living room and the teenagers and children scurrying back and forth, a satisfied smile appeared on Grid's face.

"It's like I'm back in my childhood!" Passing by his "classmates", which is the strangest thing, he did not notice something like contempt, but only a slight displeasure mixed with envy. But these were only isolated cases, for the most part it was all the same. And after a little thought, he realised why.

"The future… Most of them are the future heads of their house, and from the moment they enter this place, they begin to make connections and establish good relations with those who may be useful to them in the future, and spoiling their relations with a potentially excellent Potions master, such as Severus - "Prince of Potions" no one seeks, after all, anything can happen in life ... "- thinking about it, an image of a man with long silver hair came into his head, " Lucius Malfoy ... But he still kept in touch with Severus. Eh…The aristocrats in all the worlds are same," shaking his head, he left the living room and slowly walked towards the Potions classroom, passing through dark corridors with huge mediaeval-style windows.

Several more students from different houses followed along the way, but Grid did not pay any attention to them, but only looked around with slight curiosity.

"Even though all this is in my head, it still feels like I didn't really leave my world, everything is exactly the same as it was there ... Maybe then take over this place?" While Grid was walking in the direction of the right class, along the way he met a rather interesting company in the face of the same Lily that Severus loved, as well as those four that had mocked him all these years.

"You chose the wrong one, the wrong one, Severus..." Shaking his head, he walked towards them.

The four guys, noticing Grid approaching, only looked at him with a grin, but the girl turned away, as if not intending to talk to her former friend.

"Snivellus, do you want more beating? You were told not to approach Lily, she doesn't want to talk to you," a guy with short, unruly dark hair and glasses with round lenses stepped forward of the group, proudly puffing out his chest.

"That's right, it's true," Grid nodded thoughtfully, feeling irritation rising from somewhere deep in his memory.

'I'll have to double-check my memories, apparently, I missed some emotions.'

"I won't take much of your time and you can keep her for yourself, I don't like to be near this "mudblood," Grid said with a slight smile, looking on the long faces of teenagers, "I just need you to return my book that I lent you, you don't deserve it."

In the world of Grid, the spells that a wizard created were their honour and pride. Their creators never trusted them to anyone.

The only exceptions were the closest people whom the creator believed as his own. And those who will pass these spells to others, the magicians had every right to kill on the spot without trial.

Therefore, Grid wanted to return the textbook, even though the spells that were in it are useless, but it is still what Severus once created.

[A/N: He would be called Severus from here on.]

"Apologise to her! Immediately!" grabbing Severus by his jacket, James exclaimed angrily.

"Hands off."

"I told you immediately…" but before James could finish, his eyes widened, and, releasing the jacket, he grabbed his throat and fell to his knees.

"I'd hit you, but I don't hurt animals." Looking up in contempt from James writhing on the floor to the others, Severus saw three wands pointed at him.

"What did you do to James? Stop immediately!" exclaimed a boy with dark curly hair and grey eyes.

"Otherwise…"

"I just asked the Mudblood behind your back to hand over my textbook, and your friend attacked first," Severus shrugged and grabbed his textbook.

"You see, everything is quite simple, and we could do without it harming anyone" Grid said with a grin, looking at the girl's angry face, and, having stopped squeezing the guy's neck with telekinesis, he walked past him and went further towards the Potions class, "Come on , Lily, comfort this animal, you like a deer after all."

"I'll kill you!" James exclaimed furiously as he pointed his wand at Grid's back.

"Bomb...!" But again he was not given the opportunity to finish: his wand flew out of his hand, and his mouth disappeared.

"Minus fifty points from Gryffindor," came a gruff male voice. And in front of the surprised five appeared the head of Slytherin, Horace Slughorn.

He was a middle-aged man with straw-coloured hair and a bushy moustache.

He had a rather plump body and wore a three piece suit.

In his hand he held his wand pointed at James. "Mr. Potter! Explain immediately why you tried to use a spell like "Bombarda" on Mr. Snape?! Do you have any idea that by doing this you could severely cripple or even kill him?!" the man exclaimed furiously.
