Chapter 02

Twenty years later.

Golden's POV

I woke up feeling lazy like usual. I turned off my alarm and fixed my bed. I cleaned my room a little and went out to cook some breakfast. I didn't waste my time to wash my face because I'll take a shower right after I have my food anyway.

I opened the fridge and I automatically covered my nose when I smelled liquor. These aren't mine. "Morning." She greeted. I gave her a small smile. Her name is Tanya and she's my housemate. We're sharing an apartment and I have no choice but to adjust in her lifestyle.

Her clothing is a little less for my liking but that's just how guys like her. She's always wearing crop tops and short shorts. She shows a little too much of her skin but I'm not judging her. She looks beautiful in those anyways. It's just that she's still beautiful even if she don't choose to wear those kind of clothes.

I looked away when a half naked guy followed her. It's a nerd guy now, huh? She changes boyfriend more often than how often I blink my eyes. Her parents are rich and she kind of ran away to live with her so called lifestyle. I don't like her but I don't hate her. She's just annoying sometimes.

She brings different men here without my permission. She also eats some of my foods without asking me first. I just don't have enough confidence to tell her that besides she's kind to me anyway.

"I'm sorry about your chocolate drink." She apologized. I just nodded without looking at her. I can hear her small laughs as the nerdy guy plants small kisses on her neck.

I just can't...

When I'm done cooking my food, I grabbed my toiletries to shower. The water is cold and it's a little uncomfortable but it's okay. I'm used of it anyway. I winced when I heard someone knocking. "Tanya?" I called.

I grabbed my towel and wrapped it in my naked body. I walked towards the door and opened it. "Are you going t--Ahh!" I squeaked when I saw Tanya's boyfriend. I closed the door and I heard him chuckled.

"It's not like your different from Tanya." He scoffed. My eyebrows furrowed of what he said. I can feel my blood raising and my fist closing. I released three deep sighs as I heard his footsteps walking away from the bathroom.

I have a huge talent in controlling my temper. That's something I've master after living with my cruel stepparents for eighteen years.

I finished my bath and walked to my room. I walked passed the kitchen and saw the two of them chitchatting. That nerdy guy is far from what I thought he was. I thought he would be more gentleman than the old ones.

I guess Tanya does change her boyfriends often but her taste in men doesn't change.

I wore my uniform and went out to work. "Leaving already?" Tanya said. I was making a sandwich when she talked. I just nodded. I don't really like talking that much. Especially right now that she has a rude guy sitting beside her.

"She's odd." I heard him whispered. I glared at him and he smirked. "Stop messing with her, Josh. She's different from me." Tanya defended me. I ignored both of them and went to work.

I'm a waitress at a nearby club. Salary is just enough but I'm still looking for a better job so I can save up some money and start a business.

I'm a morning shift and there are less customers at daylight. They're also more sober. "Morning Gold." I smiled at him and he saluted jokingly. I started cleaning the tables and soon customers came. "Sir." I carefully put the bucket of ice in the table.

The guy covered in tattoos glanced at me and I looked away. "Are you new?" He asked. I just smiled and shook my head. I was about to turned around but he grabbed my arm. "I'm still talking." He snorted. I forced a smile.

"May I help you?" I was so happy when I heard Travis' voice. "Table six needs you." He said and gave me a double meaning smile. I thank him with a nod and yanked my arm off from this rude guy and scooted away before he can react.

Those kind of scenarios happen everyday. At first, I got scared and I wanted to sue all of them but eventually I got used to it. Working as a waitress in a club where most liberal people are found, I eat insults and harassments for breakfast.

"Thank you." I said. Travis looked at me and gave a genuine smile. He's the only sober guy I know. I don't really talk with other people that much. I don't think I can stay in this job for so long without someone like him saving me from all these mess.

"Don't mention it. You know I always got your back, Gold." He said. He was the one who helped me when I was having trouble with my new job.

Time flies and I'm already off to work but I was stopped by our manager. "A customer rented the club for the night and he wanted female servers." She said. I shook my head. I'm avoiding nightshifts and she knows that.

"I'm sorry, Helen." I answered. She's a cool boss of mine and she's been always so kind to me. I wanted to help her but I just can't deal with rude customers at night.

I was about to leave but she said something that made me changed my mind. "I'll double the pay. It's just for tonight, Golden." She persuaded. I released a deep sigh. Double pay?

Just for tonight, Golden...

"O-Okay." I yield.

It's 7 p.m. and we're starting to decorate the club. They said that a bachelor rented the club for the whole night and he's celebrating his twentieth birthday. The theme of the club is grey and red. It's a little weird in my opinion.

"Ladies you have to wear these." Helen said. I looked at the clothes she's giving to my co-workers and I scowled when I saw how it looked like.

There is no fucking way I'm go to wear that revealing clothes.
