Third Person POV

"What do you want?" Asked Emma icily. She wasn't in the mood of his crap.

"We need to meet." He said.

"Why would I meet you? We have nothing to talk about, I'm sure your loyal eunuch conveyed my words to you already." Answered Emma.

"That's no way to describe your father! I didn't peg you for a rude and ungrateful person." The man reprimanded disappointedly.

A loud cynical laughter resonated through the phone, then it stopped all of sudden all that was left was silence.

Thick and uncomfortable silence.

"Rude and ungrateful, eh?" She asked sarcastically. "And I certainly didn't peg you for a funny person." She retorted. "Why do you want a meeting with me so suddenly? You childhood sweetheart is not so sweet anymore, huh?"

"We were once married, Emma. Nothing will erase that. Not even you." Her ex-husband said.

"Were not are. You have no right to ask anything of me, and I have no obligation to show any kind of courtesy towards you or what we once supposedly shared. Have a good life with your wife and cheating ways away from me and my family or you'll be in for one hell of a surprise." She warned.

"Emma-"

"Goodbye, Michael." Emma cut him off mid-sentence.

And just when she was about to hang up, he yelled, "I'm coming to your home if you don't come to meet me."

"I dare you!" Emma said coldly.

"I will meet you before I go back home, it's for you to decide whether we'll do it privately or in your house where your husband resides." Michael threatened.

"Mother fucker!" She cursed. "Alright! I'll send you the address be there tomorrow 10 am sharp or I'm going." She instructed before hanging up on him.

Emma was pacing around in circles, almost shaking in worry of the consequences of this sudden call. Not because her ex husband called her nor is it because he requested a meeting with her, no it was solely because of Adam.

She knew Adam's temper, especially when it's related to the opposite sex. However, if she told him that her ex of all people wants to meet with her, he would flip.

And there's Michael on the other hand, she knows him to be very persistent and insanely stubborn. If she doesn't show up, he would most certainly put his threat in action. Then his head may not be intact by evening if Adam came to see him in their home.

It's not like she was worried about him, she was worried about her own self. She may not come out of this mess her ex is about to create unscathed.

A pair of hands wrapped themselves around her waist, and a head found its way to her neck, startling her out of her thoughts. "What are you thinking about?" Came her husband's voice from behind her.

"You scared me, Adam!" She exhaled a sigh. "Nothing, just some random stuff." She answered his question.

"Random stuff don't cause a person to be detached from their surroundings." He said. "Tell me." He urged.

"Promise me not to get mad." She pleaded.

"Depends." Was his curt answer.

She closed her eyes briefly before she reopened them. He will definitely be mad. She thought to herself, then she turned in his arms to face him. "I'mgoingtomeetwithmichael." She blurted at once without taking a breath.

Adam raised his eyebrows at her in amusement. "Was that meant for me to understand?"

"I don't know, I told you it's your problem whether you understand or not. Not my problem." She blabbed incoherently, shrugging her shoulders. It was obvious how nervous she was, but instead of being alarmed Adam found it cute.

He couldn't resist the urge to kiss her. "Can you tell me now." He asked after awhile amusedly, his breathing still unsteady due to the kiss.

"Michael called." She admitted. She wouldn't hide anything from him anymore. What she's hiding is more than enough, she can't- won't add more to the already long list no matter what his reaction will be.

"Are you planning on telling me who this Michael is anytime soon." His playful mood, turning sour at the mention of another man's name from her lips.

"My ex. He wants to meet with me." She blurted out.

Adam suddenly let go of her as if he was burned. He looked at her intently as if trying to figure something out. "You're considering meeting him, aren't you?" He asked angrily. "You've finally gone nuts, huh!" He grabbed her arms roughly, eyes gone black. "Listen to me carefully, Emma, if you want to see my not so sweet face, try meeting with that bastard of ex of yours. I will burry you both alive." Adam's grip was not the only thing that was rough and forceful, his tone and gaze were the same. It was the very first time Emma got genuinely scared of him because it felt like his threat was not a mere threat. He would go through with it, if she went against him.

He pulled her in his arms so it looked like he was hugging her but his hands were still gripping her arms, almost cutting her blood circulation in process. He then whispered in her ear in a mixture of gentleness and coldness. "Don't pull the side of me I'm barely keeping inside, you won't like it." Sending shivers of pure cold fear down her spine.

She knew his possessiveness may seem out of the way sometimes, and his jealousy often went overboard seeing that he would flip whenever a man do so much as looking her direction, but this one wasn't something she thought he was capable of.

He totally transformed from the loving and caring husband who would do anything and accept her in whatever shape she was to this monster-like man holding her right now. "Don't take my love for you as a weakness, and don't think even for one second that just because I always concede for you that you're allowed to cross limits with me. Just like I respect the limits you set, you as well will respect mine." He added.

Emma couldn't do so much as nodding, she was still shocked.

After awhile of silence, Adam broke their pose before speaking. "Let's go outside to eat, or should we order something. I know you're too tired to cook." And just like that he was back to his usual loving self, and even though she should have been happy that he returned normal. All she kept thinking about was how psychotic he looked right then, how dangerous he looked even with a smile on his face.

How did she miss this side of him all this time? Was she too busy trying to find ways to avenge her late mother? Or was he just too good in hiding his true colours behind a mask of gentleness? Or was she simply too dense to see it?

Was she happy? Or sad? Or afraid? About this new revealed side of her husband.

However what Emma forgot was she was just like him, she shouldn't be so judgmental about him when she herself was just as bad if not worse than him. She did stuff that the word evil's just not enough to describe it.

What she forgot is that she was in no position to judge his deeds or behaviour.

She should be just as accepting to him as he was to her.

A/N

Hey, lovelies! How's it going with you all? Hope you're doing great.

I was extremely delighted when I read all of your comments. You have no idea what your words mean to me, how they motivate me to keep on writing despite my not so willing self. They help in my fight against whatever that is preventing me from continuing, and I thank you so much for that. No words are enough to express my gratitude to you all, silent readers included.

Any ways, hope you enjoy the chap. Don't forget to vote and comment.

Until next time, happy reading.

Stay safe and happy, my lovelies.
