Surprise

Wayne breathed some fresh air and looked around in the bustling crowd.

He went directly to Wally's shop. He was as usual using a small curvy knife to take the hide out. Many boars and wolves were just hanging on the walls without any skin.

"Good morning, Master"

Wally looked at the entrance finding Wayne staring at him doing skinning.

"Hm….Master sounds good. Now, we will start your training. But first, you will look at me do it."

Wayne went and sat on the floor with legs crossed, looking at the newly brought Wolf's corpse with intense concentration.

"First, invert the body with the legs up, you have to start from the front neck." He inverted the wolf, it had a lot of fur not letting Wayne see the skin.

"And remember one thing, NO BLOOD, if blood comes out, then it means you are not doing the skinning process right"

Wayne nodded in understanding, he didn't get the no blood part but it was better to look than ask various questions at once.

Wally took the curvy knife in his hand and made various cuts just below the wolf's neck.

"At first, make small cuts with little strength to know the thickness of the hide….aha! Look at the gorgeous red inner skin."

Wayne looked at the skin filled with veins, he could not see any blood, just the inner skin.

"Now, make some cuts horizontally trying to take the hide out of the inner skin carefully."

Wally started peeling the skin off, it was a very satisfactory thing to do, the hide came out with every slash.

After a while of slow peeling, he skinned the whole thing just leaving the wolf's head intact.

"We don't need the head's hide, too much work with less uses. Now….you have seen me do it. It's your turn now."

Wayne started his journey in the art of skinning, it did not go well at first, with blood all over him and the floor.

"Do you think that skinning is easy? You will at least take a few days of hardwork to at least do it properly if not fast."

Wayne was grumpily looking at Wally's mild smile with blood covered on his face and clothes, especially his hands.

"Thank you for the teachings, I will have to go now."

"Buy a skinning knife, practice it well in your free time, and don't forget tomorrow's payment."

Wayne went out without answering, there were about 3 hours left before his work shift.

'Might as well level up, I don't have a single wolf copse left for tomorrow.'

Wayne went to the forest with quick steps, he didn't have much of a time.

The place was bustling as always with groups everywhere. Wayne could even see magic users and snickered at them. Magic had a lot of realism in the game. If not careful and the mana storage runs out, the person loses much of their stamina too. He saw one of the magic user girl materialize a fireball but fell on her butt after casting due to exhaustion.

He went to one of the boars and without waiting shot a rock at it.

PEW!

[Critical Hit!]

[ -25 HP]

[ +10 EXP]

Wayne snorted proudly, one stone directly on the head always did the stuff.

"Look the sniper came again!"

"He's not the sniper, idiot. That's the marksman class."

"Should we change our class too?"

"Don't bother if your aim in the real life is not good"

Wayne couldn't get used to the feeling of getting stared at all times. Not in the school nor within the game.

He wanted to level up no matter what today.

'It's only been 10 minutes and I have already gained 10 EXP, only 5 more hehehe..'

A pack of wolves was near him but was engaged by another party of 2.

The melee combatant also faced a lot of problems, with the game's mechanics being real, they had to go extra with the attacks and the pain from the attacks didn't really help….yes, pain. The gave had the same pain level as the real world. Wayne had been confused for a while as to why they let people play under eighteen of age like him.

'Should I just steal their kill?' He thought but then shook his head in disapproval. It was just too early and high risk in testing these things.

'Maybe a little more ahead.' He thought and went a little deep inside the forest. There were still people near him but relatively fewer. Most of them were the veterans moving past Wayne inside the forest.

'Gotcha bitch'

He saw 2 wolves moving around sniffing everywhere, it was as if they were looking for food or something.

'3…2…1!'

PEW!

The rock went past many meters hitting the wolf near its ribcage. The rock's damage was not that much amounting to only 10 due to the distance but it still made the wolf stagger and look around everywhere. Wayne was just too far. With another shot, the wolf was dead.

[EXP +15]

[Level up!]

[Strength +1, Stamina +1, Intelligence +1, Dexterity +1, Mana +1]

[3 free-to-place stat points gained]

Wayne looked at them for a second and then at the wolf that was coming towards him at great speed.

'One more…..' He aligned the aim to the dumb wolf's head and shot.

PEW!

The wolf felt a life-threatening chill in his spine moving to the left by instinct.

"Woo-hoo that's a first…"

Waye shot another but the wolf dodged it too. Now he panicked a little.

'Fuck, I've got no melee weapon.' He tried again and this time to make it dodge again and then shoot but it was just imagination.

'Run'

Wayne started running a full speed, he could feel the stats increase in his body. He became stronger than before and could clearly feel it.

Reaching the common ground again, he saw many people just looking at him but not help, making him curse all the way back. The wolf just did not seem to stop.

SLAM!

Wayne stopped and looked at a beautiful silhouette engaging the wolf in a fight. She was Claire, with her sword out, she just pierced the wolf's neck with it that came out from above.

Wayne looked at her take the sword out elegantly making the blood splatter on the ground from her sword. She looked back, directly at his eyes making him come out of zoning out.

"Uh…Thank you, I will take this save as a favor." Wayne said.

Claire's eyes became bright giving him a small smile that looked really dazzling in his eyes.

"....No problem"

She took the corpse of the wolf in her storage and went back to her group. He could see a girl waving at him while a certain grumpy handsome man giving him a death glare.

Wayne wanted to join their group, why not? They had strong melee players and that too all of them were level 2 like him. He had already seen their leader's prowess with the needle like sword.

'Oh shit!'

He ran back to the place he started his hunt. He finally heaved a sigh of relief looking at the corpse of the wolf he killed. Directly putting the damn corpse inside the inventory.

'Let's see now, I leveled up and completed tomorrow's quota of offerings. Might as well go to the merchant now.'

Amil entered the store which was more crowded than before.

'Damn creators, only one store for so many players.'

He was not there to sell anything this time. Just to buy some stuff. So, going to the old man was not necessary.

He went to the other side of the reception finding a beautiful NPC receptionist.

"Good evening~ What can I do for you" She gave a very formal yet cute smile to Wayne.

"I would like to get a skinning knife"

The receptionist became surprised by the request but went in the back, after a few minutes, she came with a small curvy knife in her hand.

"Here you go, 2 copper coins only!"

Wayne gave the 2 coins out of the 6 he had with a pained expression.

"It's unusual to see a player get these tools way early in the game," The receptionist said with a smile. Wayne frowned at the remark, did she just call him a player?

"Uh…how do you know I am a player?"

Under Wayne's suspicious expression, the receptionist gave a soft giggle with her hand on the mouth.
